Ariel Sibanda is a Zimbabwean footballer who was born on 25 January 1989. He is the current Highlanders Football Club captain and playing as a goalkeeper.

Background

Ariel Sibanda was born on 25 January 1989. He started his career playing for his school and after finishing his Advanced Level studies he joined Highlanders juniors in 2008 whilst he was waiting for his results. His plan was that when the results are out he would enrol to study medicine because his dream was to be a medical doctor but fate had other ideas and he didn't get the required points to enrol for his dream career but things started happening for him whilst at Highlanders and he ended up deciding to take football professionally and make it his career.[1]

Career

Sibanda has only played for the Bulawayo giants Highlanders Football Club since joining them in 2008 as a junior player before being promoted into the senior team in 2009 after the first choice goalie Washington Arubi had left Bosso for their arch rivals Dynamos Football Club. He started playing football whilst doing Form 2 at High School and he played for all age groups (U15, U17 and U20) at School. He has also played for the Zimbabwe U23 team before being affected by age and also played for the senior national team for several years.

Ariel Sibanda has 3 full caps for the Zimbabwe national team and he was on the bench in one match he was called.
