Chad Idensohn

Chad Idensohn is an ward-winning Zimbabwean international swimmer. He rose to stardom after relocating to South Africa in 2012 to seek a better platform for his talent. In 2014, he scooped Team Zimbabwe’s first silver medal at the African Youth Games in Botswana.[1] Idensohn came third with a cracking 23.73 in the 50 metre swimming freestyle closely trailing, Egypt's Mohamed Mohamed who finished first at 23.38 seconds. He also finished fourth the 100m freestyle at the same tournament. He was also part of the three athletes who were sent to compete at FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in Dubai from August 26 to 31 2013.[2] His fellow team also comprised of James Lawson and Robyn Lee. The latter was the only girl in the team. Idensohn represented the country in the championships which were used as a qualifying event for the Youth Olympic Games which were to be in Nanjing, China in 2014. At the championship, Idensohn broke 4 national records and also achieved 3 youth Olympic times.[3]

Education

He attended St John’s College for his secondary education.
