Chiedza 'Chi' Brown was the daughter of legendary Zimbabwean singers, Andy Brown and Chiwoniso Maraire. She was also sister to singer/song writer Ammara Brown. Faced with the pressures of life,[1] Chiedza tragically took her own life in September 2015.[1]

Background

Chiedza Zvondiwe Brown was born on 13 December 1999 in Harare, Zimbabwe to Andy Brown and Chiwoniso Maraire. After being a pre-mature baby, her father poured her with love and affection.[1] Her parents had another daughter together, Chengeto, while her father had 8 other children, Ammara Brown being one of them. After her parents passing, Chi relocated to Texas, USA together with her elder sister, Chengeto and lived with her aunt Tawona Gatson.

Musical Skills

In 2011 at the ZIFF backstage Ammara noticed her playing skills after their father alerted her. She would be playing "Next Lifetime" which not long after was to be dedicated to Andy Brown himself at his funeral.[1] She went on to show her musical proneness at her mothers funeral not long after.
