Chimurenga Day
Chimurenga Day is the day set aside to remember the beginning of the liberation struggle that overthrew an oppressive white minority government in Rhodesia. The day is 28 April.
Specifically, Chimurenga Day is a commemoration of the Battle of Chinhoyi.
The day is no longer celebrated much in independent Zimbabwe but was commemorated by the nationalist party, ZANU-PF before and after independence.
