Ekenia Chifamba is a Zimbabwean women and girls rights activist. She is the founding director of the nongovernmental organization, Shamwari Yemwanasikana.

Education

She holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration with the University of South Wales and a Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resources from Zimbabwe Open University. She is also has a higher National Diploma in Information Technology with DEXPAC Academy Southern Africa, a National diploma in Human Resources management and a certificate from the Institute of Bankers of Zimbabwe (IOBZ). A certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation with Worlds Children's Prize. She was also awarded a certificate of competence in Administration and leadership in Botswana.[1]

Career

She has worked in the Banking sector in the fraud and IT department.[1]

Chifamba is the producer of the Administration Manual for Grassroots organizations. He organisation Shamwari Yemwanasikana provides scholarships and internships for programs run by a variety of other community partner organizations. The organisation also empowers women and girls with income generating projects such as basket weaving, soap making and market gardening. The organisation's programs offer assistance to victims of rape and abuse including psychological support, legal support, referrals to shelters, and transportation to police stations, courts, and hospitals. Awards

Ekenia attended the Award Ceremony for Outstanding Men and Women Fighting for Children’s Rights in Sweden and was awarded for placing the child in the centre at the World`s Children`s Prize Foundation in 2014.[3] She was also invited at the 3rd Women's Conference on Shelters in Netherlands.
