Esrom "Yellowman" Nyandoro is a Zimbabwean footballer who has played most of his career matches in the South African premier league featuring for Sundowns Football Club.

Background

Nyandoro was born on February 6, 1980 in Bulawayo.[1] He is married to Ruth who he is said to have been involved since he was eighteen, the couple has three children, Tinashe and twins Tatenda and Tawanda.[2] Ruth is also said to have been a footballer but stopped playing when their first child was born.

Education

He did his secondary education at Mzilikazi High School. Nyandoro was discovered by scouts while playing in the Peter Ndlovu invitational under 19 tournament.[1]

Football career

Nyandoro started playing football at a very young age but his big break came when he was spotted while playing in the Peter Ndlovu under 19 invitational tournament. He also played forZimbabwe Saints Juniors before joining the now defunct Amazulu Football Club[1] while he was just seventeen years old and by the time he turned twenty he was already a regular starter.[2] He got his first national cap at age twenty one against Burkina Faso and he played so well that he was named man of the match. Nyandoro was also part of the history making warriors team that qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations in 2004. Nyandoro's goal against Cameroon at the tournament was voted the goal of the tournament.[2] Esrom Nyandoro was signed by Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club of South Africa in 2004 where he was named rookie of the year in his debut season. In 2006 he was linked with a move to Sheffield United, a move which had been put in motion by Peter Ndlovu but no deal materialised. He went back to Sundowns where he had a very glittering career in which he also captained the team.

Nyandoro was said to have donated goods valued at R10 000 to Mpilo Central Hospital. He was reported to have pledged to continue supporting the community whenever possible[4]
