Generation 40

The Zanu-PF Generation 40, or G40 for short, was a group of Zanu-PF politicians that was believed to be working against the possibility of Emmerson Mnangagwa (Lacoste Faction) succeeding former president Robert Mugabe as president of Zimbabwe. Tentative evidence indicates that the group at one point wase in favour of Mugabe's wife Grace Mugabe taking over from her husband as president.

The notion of G40 is believed to have been conceived by Jonathan Moyo, who was reported to be the brains behind the outfit. Moyo however denied its identity as a faction.[1]

The group was believed to be characterized of younger Zanu-PF members who are savvy and educated. The group was alluded to be led by Jonathan Moyo and Zanu-PF political commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere but was fronted by the first lady, Grace Mugabe.
