Jeremy Olivier is a Zimbabwean born musician who participated at the 2016 edition of The Voice South Africa singing competition.

Background

Olivier was born in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe. [1] He is married to Nicole Olivier and together they have 5 children including an adopted son Noah Themba Olivier. In 2009 the couple lost twins to a miscarriage.[2]

Education

He holds a Bachelor of Music Honours in jazz performance from the University of Cape Town’s College of Music.[1]

Career

He ventured into music at the age of 14 and after completing his A-Levels in Harare, he decided to pursue music further. He moved to Cape Town where he obtained a Bachelor of Music Honours in jazz performance from the University of Cape Town’s College of Music.[1]

In 2016 he took part in the South African edition of the singing competition The Voice and made it into the top four of with 22-year-old Richard Stirton emerging the overall winner.[3] He has worked alongside UNICEF on their new campaign ‘Ending Violence Against Children and Women’ using a song Beautiful which he co-wrote with his wife Nicole.[2]
