Petunia Chiriseri is a Zimbabwean pastor. She is the co-founding senior pastor of His Presence Ministries International. Chiriseri was sworn in as a member of the Zimbabwe human Rights Commission by Robert Mugabe.
Background
She grew up in Barbourfields, Bulawayo.[1]Petunia Chiriseri is the wife to the late Charles Chiriseri. Together they have four children
Education
Petunia Chiriseri holds a Masters in Business Leadership degree from the University of South Africa, a Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Zimbabwe where she also graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Botany and Zoology. She also holds a Counseling Certificate from CONNECT which is a non-governmental organistaion, she also studied Project Management at Manhanga Institute of Management in Swaziland; EMPRETEC (UNDP) Entrepreneurial Development Program; Grooming and Deportment.[2]
Career
Chiriseri has teaching experience, having taught at Queen Elizabeth School where she was the Head of the Science Department and Senior Mistress. She also taught at Kwekwe High,Townsend, Eveline, Harare High School and Gateway High School. She taught A’ Level Biology, Science and Maths and was a Zimsec marker. [2]She is part of the National Committee of the Gender Based Violence Prevention Strategy in the Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development. She also chairs the UNDP aided resource mobilisation team of Ecumenical Christian Leaders Forum. She is also the chaplain for the Harare City Council and the founder of Christian Mothers Voice, an advocacy group that encourages women and the youth to participate in national issues.[1]
Chiriseri is a member of the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission, who was sworn in by President Mugabe on July 7, 2016.[3]
Career As A Pastor
In an interview Chiriseri says she was attending an international conference, the Azusar Street Festival, with her husband Charles Chiriseri in California when God called her. She says
God spoke to me clearly that I had an apostolic calling. Together with many others, we were commissioned to go and become revivalist of the Century, back in our countries.
She relinquished her pastoral duties at Faith Ministries in 2006, giving birth to His Presence Ministries.
She is the founding Managing Director of Legacy International School which was founded in 2007.[1]

Accident
She was involved in an accident on 15 September 2016. Chiriseri was travelling to Bulawayo with her husband to attend a funeral when tragedy struck at the 388km peg along the Harare-Bulawayo Road in Mbembesi at about 10pm. Those who visited the scene suspected the couple’s vehicle could have hit a donkey. Petunia Chiriseri was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo.[3]
