2023 Mayor
The Councillors of Redcliff elected (he was unopposed) Clayton Msaiyatsva (Cllr, Ward 3) Mayor again in September 2023. This is his second term. All Redcliff’s nine wards were CCC. Three Cllrs were Zanu PF, all from the women’s quota, as CCC failed to nominate Proportional Representation candidates in the 23-24 August 2023 elections. Councillor Shangwa Masiyiwa was re-elected Redcliff deputy mayor, also uncontested.
Mayor Masiyatsva pledged to address the perennial water challenges in Redcliff and to complete projects that the council started during his first term.
Our main focus and priority is water. I am sure all of us as residents we are facing water challenges. As councillors, we will work hard to provide you with water. We will also look at outstanding projects from the previous council especially housing projects in Millenium Park, Rutendo Extension and other housing schemes. We will make sure the projects are completed. The issue of street lights in low density areas will also be addressed,” he said.
Clr Masiyatsva urged the Town Clerk, Mr Gilson Chakauya to prioritise clearing salary arrears.
“Salary arrears must be a thing of the past. Work with your management team such that employees get their salaries timeously. The main road to Torwood from Ziscosteel to Batanai is not complete and residents are suffering from dust pollution.
