Thomas Chideu is a Zimbabwean born footballer who used to play for Highlanders Football Club in Zimbabwe before joining South African club Ajax Cape Town in July 2015.
Background
Chideu was born on 30 October 1996.[1] He has two elder brothers, Simba and Kudzai, with him being the last born in a family of 3 boys.[2] One of his brothers plays for Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League side, Dongo Sawmills Football Club. His father Gilbert Chideu passed away in 2005 and his mother, Estere Marimo, had to take care of him and his siblings on her own.[2]
Education
Chideu attended Prince Edward High School.[3]
Career
Chideu started playing for Prince Edward High and impressed at The National Association of Secondary Heads Under-20 football tournament which resulted in him being signed by Highlanders Football Club at the start of the 2015 premier soccer league season. After featuring in only eight matches for Highlanders, Chideu joined South African club Ajax Cape Town after successful trials in July 2015.[4]
In 2014, Thomas was part of an exchange program where he spent three months with United Kingdom school Oswestry where he impressed leading to interest from English side Sunderland Football Club.[4]

Chideu has played for the Zimbabwe under-23 side.[5]
