Controversy
in June 2015, Tito Mboweni had a war of words with Zimbabwe's Jonathan Moyo over what he termed, hindering economic progress in Zimbabwe. According to him. He wrote in separate tweets:
"Jonathan Moyo irritates me. writes fairy tales, shops in SA for basic things and talks such rubbish whilst his people suffer. Prof my foot!
A couple of years ago, I was instructed to work on an economic revival program for Zim together with Gono, Trevor and Herbert Murerwa.
It came to nothing because of people like the supposed Prof. Meanwhile back at the ranch, Zimbabweans are suffering. That's the reality.
In response, Jonathan Moyo tweeted back that he wasn't even in government at the time of Twitter's supposed consultancy:
I was in politburo Dec 2000 to Dec 2004 & now Since Dec 2010. Never had of failed @tito_mboweni consultancy in Zim! [3]
