The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) says it will release the 2021 Ordinary Level examination results next week.
In a statement, ZIMSEC refuted claims that it has delayed releasing Grade Seven, Ordinary and Advanced Level results but has maintained the normal timeframe for their release.
The examinations body said that there were COVID-19 disruptions in the opening and closing of schools throughout the previous year, leading to a delay in starting exams. Read the statement:

Traditionally, that is before the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 Global pandemic, the results of the Ordinary and Advanced Level examinations are released two months after the date of writing the last examination paper, hence results were released between 1 and 15 February, Zimsec has observed this time period of two months after the last examination paper for 2021 was written on 31 January 2022.
The December 2021/2022 Advanced Level examination results were released on 5 April 2022 and the Ordinary Level examination results will be released next week.

Meanwhile, this year’s A-level results came three weeks earlier than those of the 2020 examination.

2021 'O' Level Results To Be Released Next Week

The Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) finally released the 2021 Advanced Level Results on Tuesday after delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement, ZEC said candidates who sat for the 2021 “A” Level examinations can collect their results from their respective schools and centres starting Wednesday, 6 April 2022.
Alternatively, candidates can access their results online from the ZIMSEC Results Portal, which is available on the ZIMSEC website.
Traditionally, ZIMSEC results will be available on the portal for a limited period, usually five days. After the five days, the results will no longer be accessible from the ZIMSEC online portal.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how you can view the ZIMSEC 2021 A Level Results online:
1. Go to the Zimsec Results Portal using the web address

3. Enter your details and register your Zimsec account.
In order to register, you will need to create an account. Use your centre number, candidate number and date of birth to create an account.
When entering the name of the candidate start with the Surname followed by the First Name and finally the initial for the second name, if there is one. When entering the date of birth use the format dd/mm/yyyy.
You will also need to create a username and password for your account. Make sure that your password includes, a capital letter, digits, and non-alphabetic characters [!, @, #, $, %,  etc]. For example “Mukanya#1” would be a valid password.
When you are done, entering all the details, click “Register.”
4. After you have registered and created your new account, you will be redirected to the home page. Here you will need to log in using the username and password you would have entered.
5. After you enter the username and password, you will be able to access the ZIMSEC results portal. You will get a page that looks like the one below.  Click on “Candidate Results” at the top and the results will be displayed.

Here Is How You Can View 2021 ZIMSEC "A" Level Results Online

Teachers’ unions are not convinced by the Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC)’s explanation for its failure to release the 2021 Ordinary and Advanced Level results in time.
ZIMSEC spokesperson Nicholette Dlamini on Sunday told NewsDay that the COVID-19 pandemic caused a change in the normal calendar of the marking and release of the examination results, hence the delay in releasing results.
However, Progressive Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (PTUZ) president Takavafira Zhou said the marking process was disrupted after examiners went on strike in February in a dispute with ZIMSEC over allowances. Said Zhou:

Markers went on strike during the marking process and it took longer for the few remaining makers to complete the process. And time was moving.
Another thing, ZIMSEC lost a number of experienced markers who did not turn up because they were incapacitated.
This did not only contribute to the delay of the results but will also compromise the quality of the results to be released.

ZIMSEC markers went on strike in the middle of the marking exercise accusing ZIMSEC of failing to honour its pledge to pay them their allowances.
ZIMSEC had promised to pay markers US$25 per day for those staying out of residence and US$12 per day for those in residence.
Zimbabwe Teachers Association secretary-general Goodwill Taderera said the introduction of CALA contributed to the delay in the release of the results. Taderera said:

The introduction of the CALA is a challenge to both learners and teachers and is also affecting the whole process of how the examinations are marked and how they are released because they are a new aspect.
</blockquote>
Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe president Obert Masaraure said:

The institution (ZIMSEC) has not been spared from the rot that has seized all State institutions.
The disruption of marking because of a serious labour dispute delayed the process.
The morale among personnel at ZIMSEC is at an all-time low and they are working at a slower pace than expected.
</blockquote>
The delay by ZIMSEC to release “O” and “A” Level examination results means that schools cannot enrol Lower Sixth pupils this term while universities will have to defer their intakes.

ZIMSEC To Blame For Its Failure To Release Results In Time - Teachers

The Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) has failed to release the 2021 Ordinary and Advanced Level results in time.
In previous years, the examinations body would release results in February, giving ample time for schools to enrol Lower Sixth pupils in the first term.
The first term ends on Thursday, 7 April 2022, with both “O” and “A” Level results for 2021 yet to be released.
The delay in the release of “A” Level results has forced some universities such as the Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) and Midlands State University (ZIMSEC) to defer their intakes.
Speaking to NewsDay on Sunday, ZIMSEC spokesperson Nicholette Dlamini said the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the normal school calendar resulting in delays in the writing and marking of examinations. 
Dlamini said the ZIMSEC board will release the results “soon”, but did not provide the exact date. She said:
<blockquote>
The year 2019 was the last year we had the normal school year. This is 2022 that we are now having a normal school year.
If you look at 2021, the first term started in March and last year, the results came on April 23 and we haven’t reached the date.
Our examinations were written last year. They started in December and they finished on January 31, so according to the cycle and the timeline, we have not yet reached that. The results will be released soon.

Teachers’ unions have, however, cited a dispute between ZIMSEC and examination markers over allowances early this year as the major reason behind the delay in the release of results.

ZIMSEC Blames COVID-19 For Failure To Release Results In Time

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) says there is no exact date yet set for the release of the 2021 Ordinary Level examination results.
Speaking to Sunday News, ZIMSEC spokesperson, Nicky Dlamini, said the results will be released as soon as current processes that are taking place are completed. She said:

For now, I can say that the results will be out as soon as we are done with the current processes that are taking place, there is no exact date at the moment but everything is smooth sailing towards their release.
</blockquote>
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education director of Advocacy and Communication, Taungana Ndoro, said Form Five pupils will start attending lessons in the second term.
He said it is now impossible to have a special arrangement for the Lower Sixth pupils for them to resume classes for the first term.
Ndoro added that parents and guardians will use the school holiday to look for places and Lower Sixth pupils will then start lessons with the rest of the classes for the second term.
Schools are expected to open for the second term on Tuesday, 3 May 2022 and close on Thursday, 4 August 2022.

No Date For 'O' And 'A' Level Results Release - ZIMSEC

The November 2020 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) Advanced Level (A’ Level) results have been released.
ZIMSEC announced in a statement released Thursday noting that the pass rate declined by 2.1 percent from the previous year with the decline being attributed to the outbreak of the coronavirus which disrupted learning.
The release of the results which are usually out by February was delayed amid strikes over allowances by markers, COVID-19-induced delays in writing and marking the examinations.
The Herald was told that ZIMSEC Chairman, Professor Mwenje, will issue a statement on the results.

Reports suggest that of the 49 153 candidates who sat for 2 or more subjects, 39 802 obtained Grade E or better in 2 or more subjects translating to a pass rate of 81 percent, down from 83.1 percent in 2019.
School candidates sitting the exams were 42 231 and 41 691 of them sat two or more subjects and 34 597 passed, representing an 83 percent pass rate.
Of the 8 056 private candidates, 7 462 were examined in two or more subjects and 5 205 were graded E or better in two or more subjects for a 69.8 percent pass rate.
Results will be ready for collection at exam centres from Friday, and candidates can also check their results on the ZIMSEC website.

BREAKING: ZIMSEC A' Level Results Now Out

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has said the November 2020 Advanced Level results will be released at the end of April or early next month.
ZIMSEC public relations manager Nicky Dlamini on Thursday morning told The Herald that Ordinary Level results will be released after the A’ Level results. She said:
<blockquote>We are expecting A’ Level results end of this month or the first days of May, then Ordinary level results will follow later, we do not have the exact dates, but we are assuming everything will be in order by end of this month.</blockquote>
The government recently announced that the June 2021 Zimsec public examinations for both O and A-Levels have been cancelled due to disruptions caused by the coronavirus and the resulting lockdown.

ZIMSEC A' Level Results Out In Two Weeks

Pamushana High School in Masvingo has attained a 97,86% pass rate in the November 2019 Zimbabwe <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_School_Examinations_Council" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC)</a> Advanced Level results.
With 79 students getting 15 points and above, Pamushana attained probably the best 2019 Zimsec A-Level results in the country.
Further Pamushana produced 118 students with 10 points and above, with 140 students having set for the exams.
On second position in <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Masvingo_Province" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Masvingo Province</a> is Silveira which has 29 candidates with 15 points and above and the pass rate stood at 96,12%.
Silveria also had a student who made it 30 points and the school has 81 students with 10 points and above.
On third place is Ndarama which had 21 candidates with 15 points and above and the school had a huge number of students with 9 points, 106 to be specific.

Pamushana High School Attains Almost 98% A-Level Pass Rate

Manicaland Province recorded over 200 pupils who obtained 15 points in the November 2019 <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_School_Examinations_Council" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (ZIMSEC)</a> exams.
Knowstics Academy in <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Mutasa_District" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Mutasa District</a> and St Faiths in <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Makoni_District" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Makoni District</a> had the highest number with 37 apiece, followed by St Augustines also in Mutasa with 35.
Kriste Mambo also in Makoni recorded 28 students with 15 points.

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_School_Examinations_Council" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC)</a> officials on Tuesday expressed dismay over the failure rate of science subjects at Advanced Level.
The November A’ Level results were released yesterday with ZIMSEC chairman Professor Eddie Mwenje saying that there had been a marginal increase in the pass rate overall from the previous year. However, commenting on the low pass rate in science subjects, Mwenje said:
<blockquote>The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Ministry_of_Primary_and_Secondary_Education" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education</a> needs to closely look into this area.
There could be many factors which need further interrogation that could be contributing to this poor performance.
We need to closely look at each subject because these are the second results from the recently introduced competency-based curriculum.
The other contributing factor could be that science subjects require a lot of input and equipment which most schools do not possess.</blockquote>
The overall pass rate marginally improved from 81.9 per cent in 2018, to 83.1 per cent last year.
Meanwhile, the pass rate for science subjects (Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Mathematics) was only 31.6 per cent.
