Kaizer Chiefs forward, Khama Billiat started from the bench tonight as Amakhosi clash with title contenders Mamelodi Sundowns.
Masandawana won the match 1-0 and are now square with AmaKhosi at 53 points each.
Kaizer Chiefs are however leading the race due to their goal difference (+7) with three games remaining.
The 30-year-old Zimbabwean International, Billiat was introduced in the second half when Kaizer Chiefs were already one goal (1) down.
The former Sundowns forward has since joining Amakhosi in 2018 and particularly so this season been a shadow of his former self.
He has only one goal to his name and has spent the good part of the season nursing injuries.
In the most recent games, he has also performed below expectation and has been substituted on a number of occasions.

Billiat Starts From The Bench As Kaizer Chiefs Loses To Mamelodi Sundowns

Former Mamelodi Sundowns legend, Roger Feutmba has said that Zimbabwean international, Khama Billiat has already shown his worth at Kaizer Chiefs.
The Cameroon international further observed that Kaizer Chiefs might not have won a silverware last season when Billiat joined them because of the quality of players surrounding the magnificent Khama. He said:
<blockquote>I believe with the quality that Billiat has, the environment at Sundowns suited him best since he was around players that complimented him well. In football, you need to have a collective element going before you even talk about the brilliance of the individuals.
I don’t believe that Chiefs have the type of players and philosophy that Sundowns have. Billiat has already proven that he is a fantastic player.</blockquote>
His remarks come when some Kaizer Chiefs faithful have said that the Warriors forward needs to win something for the Amakhosi this season saying that his first season when he scored 9 goals and made 11 assists was a bad season for him.
Kaizer Chiefs fans want Billiat to replicate the form he displayed at Sundowns where he would score crucial goals as well as assist his teammates.

"Billiat Has Already Proven That He Is A Fantastic Player.” - Sundowns legend

The South African Premier Soccer League on Saturday revealed that the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), will not be broadcasting Absa Premiership matches on television or radio this weekend.
The PSL issued a statement which reads:
<blockquote>The PSL regrets that the South African followers of the beautiful game will, as a result of matters beyond its immediate control, not find the PSL football matches on the free to air television and radio channels of the SABC.
This was brought to the PSL’s attention yesterday, 2 August 2019 by SuperSport, the broadcast rights holder. Up until the beginning of this week, we were made to believe the final bits were being ironed out towards yet another exciting season that the majority consume on free to air television provided by the SABC.
In hindsight, we should have made more of the question by a SABC journalist after the Board of Governors meeting two days ago, on Thursday 1 August 2019, when he revealed that there was no scheduling of weekend matches to be broadcast by the SABC. Knowing what we know now, it is evident that the SABC had already prepared for a “blackout”.
According to SuperSport, the SABC proposal is tantamount to discounting the PSL rights by ninety-six per cent. This would be unacceptable.
Upon receiving a letter from SuperSport about the situation the Chairman of the PSL, Dr Irvin Khoza immediately wrote an urgent letter to the Ministers of Communication and Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture.
In the letters, he stated to the Ministers that the challenges being faced have legal, public and political implications.
In addressing this matter, it is maybe time that the nation accepts that the SABC is incapable of meeting its requirements since a “blackout” to the majority who consume their football through free to air television and radio is unacceptable going forward.
The PSL will provide regular updates to the public as a solution is sought to address this unfortunate situation.</blockquote>

SABC Fails To Broadcast ABSA Premier League Games On Opening Weekend

The 2019/20 Absa Premiership season will kick-off on Saturday, 03 August 2019. The South African Premiership is of interest to thousands of Zimbabwean soccer lovers as scores of Zimbabwean nationals play in the league.
In cup competitions, the MTN8 kicks off on the weekend of August 17/18. The Telkom Knockout will get underway after the October international break on the weekend of October 19.

SA Premier League Fixtures Out, Kick-off Date Confirmed

Absa Premier League side Kaizer Chiefs is expected to axe some of its foreign players in order to avoid breaking PSL rules.
The Soweto giants recently brought in Lazarous Kambole (Zambia), Samir Nurkovi (Serbia) and James Kotei (Ghana).
They already have four overseas players in their squad – Aro “Dax” Andrianarimanana (Madagascar), Teenage Hadebe (Zimbabwe), Leonardo Castro (Colombia) and Daniel Akpeyi (Nigeria).
While Willard Katsande and Khama Billiat are Zimbabweans, they are registered as South African because they have spent more than five years in that country.
A report by South African online publication, IOL News says that PSL clubs are allowed a maximum of 5 overseas players, and Teenage Hadebe may face the chop. It says:
<blockquote>According to PSL rules, a team can register five overseas players. Chiefs have seven foreign players. Castro has been placed on the transfer list, which means they have to cut ties with another foreign player.
Hadebe is the likely candidate for axing. He failed to deliver eye-catching performances on a consistent basis last season.
Not that he was to blame for Amakhosi’s defensive woes, but he certainly did not deliver anything special to avoid being sold.</blockquote>
Kaizer Chiefs communications manager Vina Maphosa said that the club has not yet made a decision on the foreign quota. He said:
<blockquote>We are still working on the matter. We haven’t made any comments yet. But it is standard that if you’ve reached the quota then maybe you have to release other players.
You have to do this and that but no pronouncement has been made at this stage.</blockquote>

Teenage Hadebe Likely To Be Axed By Kaizer Chiefs - Report

Mamelodi Sundowns retained the ABSA premiership on Saturday after beating Free State Stars 1-0 at Goble Park.
Free State Stars were consequently relegated after finishing bottom of the log.
Sundowns struck late in the first half through Phakamani Mahlambi which enabled the Brazilians to open a two-point gap over runners up Orlando Pirates who finished on 57 points after a 3-0 win over Polokwane City.
The Brazilians have now won the title 3 times in the past four seasons.

Mamelodi Sundowns Retain ABSA Premiership Title

SuperSport United coach, Kaitano Tembo, said that he has identified areas that need to be improved for next season.
Speaking to SuperSport TV, the former Warriors defender said that he intends to strengthen in the full-back and striking departments. Tembo is quoted as saying:
<blockquote>There are areas where we feel we are falling short – the fullbacks because we only have Onismor Bhasera and Siyabonga Nhlapo since we moved Grant Kekana to play at centreback.
Up front, we have gone the season with only two strikers and it has been difficult on them but they have been able to soldier on.
We need to get a little bit more quality on the wings, maybe one or two more creative players who can dribble and score because we have not scored many goals this season. We have been struggling.</blockquote>
Matsatsantsa is sixth on the log and will be at home to Highlands Park in the final game of the 2018/19 ABSA premiership.

Kaitano Tembo To Buy Fullbacks & Strikers Next Season

The leader of the Prophetic, Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries Prophet Walter Magaya has revealed that he is starting a football club in South Africa which he hopes will be competing in the Absa Premiership in the future. Magaya also owns local side Yadah FC. He revealed this information while explaining the absence of Yadah FC coach Jairos Tapera, who he said had been promoted to the South African project.
Said Magaya:
<blockquote>The coach has not been fired, instead he has been promoted to go and work at a football project that we are starting in South Africa, a club that we believe will be playing in the ABSA Premiership in not too distant a future.
His promotion was necessitated by the fact that he is someone who understands working in South Africa, which he was doing just before he came to take charge of Yadah FC and this football project will feature my children who are in South Africa, where we have a huge following as a ministry and where they have been calling on us to establish a similar football project like Yadah FC.
I have two children who own football clubs in South Africa and now we are establishing a football project down there, which will not only be for those who are part of our ministry, but even the South Africans themselves.
Coach Tapera is going to oversee the development of that project in terms of the technical aspects and he now fully understands what we expect from the people we ask to be our head coaches and we are hopeful that things will work to our expectations.</blockquote>

Walter Magaya starting a football club in SA

Walter Magaya’s Yadah FC will set up a sister club in South Africa and have assigned that job to head coach Jairos Tapera.
Magaya told ZBC News that the football club will compete in the South African top flight league. Yadah FC has lost 10 games and are on position 14 on the log standings after amassing 21 points with an average of 1 point per game.

Zimbabwean midfielder Khama Billiat and Yannick Zakri scored today as Mamelodi Sundowns won 2-0 over Orlando Pirates in an Absa Premiership match played at Orlando Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Sundowns almost opened the scoring in the 7th minute when Billiat set up Themba Zwane whose shot from ten-yards out was deflected inches over the target. Pirates first chance came in the 13th minute when Oupa Manyisa played Thamsanqa Gabuza into space just inside the box, but he failed to score. Sundowns took the lead in the 25th minute when a mistake in defence by Issa Sarr saw him clear a right wing cross from Yannick Zakri straight to Khama Billiat who headed home from ten-yards out, 1-0. The half ended 1-0 in favour of Sundowns.
Four minutes into the second half Yannick Zakri doubled Sundowns’ lead. Pirates almost found the equaliser through substitute Mpho Makola whose effort was saved by Dennis Onyango. Khama Billiat nearly scored his second of the match in the 66th minute but he missed. Two minutes from full-time Billiat’s 20-yard strike came back off the crossbar.

Khama Billiat scores as Mamelodi Sundowns wins against Orlando Pirates

Former Dynamos defender Augustine Mbara is back home after quitting South African Absa Premiership side Highlands Park. The defender joined Highlands at the beginning of the season. However, he was unsatisfied with his game time after featuring in only 8 matches. Due to this, he was able to negotiate a mutual termination of his contract with the Absa premiership side.
Mbara is now a free agent and is looking for a new club.

In an Interview with Soccer Laduma Golden Arrows CEO Gordon Masondo, confirmed that the club has signed former Highlanders forward <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Knox_Mutizwa">Knox Mutizwa</a> from Bidvest Wits.
Said Masondo:

Golden Arrows confirm signing Knox Mutizwa

Warriors captain, <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Willard_Katsande">Willard Katsande</a> scored the winning goal as Kaizer Chiefs ended their winless streak in an ABSA Premiership match this afternoon.
Polokwane City scored through Puleng Tlolane in the 82nd minute and it seemed Chiefs were set for another frustrating draw but Katsande scored in the 92nd minute into the top corner to clinch maximum points for Chiefs. 
Kaizer Chiefs are 4th spot after the result with 21 points from 14 games ,four behind log leaders Cape Town City.

Zimbabwean forward, <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Nyasha_Mushekwi">Nyasha Mushekwi</a> is training with Bidvest Wits which has led to speculation that the he could be eyeing a return to the ABSA Premiership something his agent Ralph Nkomo quickly denied.
Nkomo told Kickoff.com,

<a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Khama_Billiat">Khama Billiat</a> scored his first ABSA Premiership goal of the season as Mamelodi Sundowns beat Polokwane City 2-0.
Coming from the bench Billiat scored in the 81st minute after good interplay from Mamelodi Sundowns saw Percy Tau make a cut back for Billiat to finish.
It was the reigning African Champions’ first league win of the season. Due to their Champions League commitments Sundowns have only played three games so far.
