Actress Anne Nhira, who passed away at a South African hospital last Wednesday, had given her life to God and was actually on her way back from a prayer retreat when she was attacked by robbers, it has been established.
Speaking at the funeral wake in Manyame Park, family spokesperson Florence Ziyambi said a murder docket has been opened against unknown assailants who attacked Nhira.
Nhira, who played the Vimbai Jari role in local soapie Studio 263, was mugged in a park in South Africa and succumbed to the internal injuries she sustained during the attack two days later.
Ziyambi further revealed that Nhira’s autopsy results were expected this week and once everything has been put in order, her body will be repatriated. She said:
<blockquote>For most of Vimbai’s time, she was based in South Africa and I thank God that by the time of her death, she had turned to God.
According to the reports we are getting, they had gone for morning prayer in a mountain on Monday last week.
She then decided to return home, leaving her brother behind and as she was going down the mountain passing through a park, that’s when she was attacked.
Anne is said to have told some passersby who saw her after the attack that she had left her brother in the mountain.
They rushed to call him before she was ferried to the hospital where doctors could not identify any visible injuries.
We actually don’t know what happened at the hospital, but she was spitting blood.
X-rays were taken, but no injuries were seen and she was then given medication and went back home.
Contrary to what they have said, she was damaged inside, that was on Tuesday, and they went back to the hospital on Wednesday, but on their way, her condition deteriorated.
Whilst on their way, she was complaining of feeling hot, but when they touched her they discovered that she was cold.
Upon arrival at the hospital, she was put in the resuscitation room and we were told to stay outside.
It did not take time; they were told she had passed on.</blockquote>

Anne Nhira Death: Fresh Details Emerge

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has granted a State assisted funeral for the late former Studio 263 actor Anne Nhire who died in South Africa on Wednesday last week.
Responding to a letter from the Permanent Secretary for Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, Thokozile Chitepo, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Misheck Sibanda wrote:
<blockquote>Please be advised that His Excellency the President has approved State assisted funeral to the late Anne ‘Vimbai’ Nhire. You may proceed with the necessary arrangements.</blockquote>
Nhira died two days after she was assaulted by robbers on Monday at a prayer mountain in South Africa’s Belview Suburb.
Her brother, Juan, said his sister was attacked by robbers and sustained injuries on the chest, stomach and rib cage.
Juan said Anne was then rushed to hospital where she succumbed to the injuries on Wednesday.

State-assisted Funeral For Former Studio 263 Actor

The family of the later actress Anne Nhira has released a statement that states that they are making necessary arrangements for Anne’s remains to be repatriated to Zimbabwe for burial. The statement was shared by socialite Zuva Habane also gave account details for the benefit of those that might want to send contributions to the family.
Nhira succumbed to injuries she sustained <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/03/13/anne-nhira-was-at-a-prayer-mountain-when-she-mugged/">during a robbery while she had gone to pray at a mountain</a> in Johanesburg.
Said the Nhira family in a statement:

It is with great sadness that we must announce that Anne Vimbisai Nhira passed away on Thursday the 10th of March 2021. 
We are really overwhelmed and humbled by all the support that we are receiving and we are grateful for the continued support We take solace in seeing that Anne may have been one of our own but she belonged to the world as reflected by the support we are getting from all over the world.
Arrangements are being made to process relevant travel and regulatory documents to necessitate her transportation back to Zimbabwe. Further details will be communicated.
This a very trying time for all of us as friends and family to the late Anne ‘Vimbai’ Nhira. We are appealing to the media and to allow the family to mourn and grieve her passing and refrain from writing malicious statements that are far from truths.

Update On Anne Nhira's Funeral Arrangements

The late former Studio 263 actress Anne Nhira, who died on Wednesday, was attacked while at a prayer mountain, her brother Juan has revealed.
Juan said his sister was attacked by robbers and sustained injuries on the chest, stomach and rib cage in South Africa’s Belview Suburb on Monday.
She was then rushed to hospital where she succumbed to the injuries on Wednesday. Said Juan:
<blockquote>The only few words I heard from my sister were that men with guns came out of the bushes at the prayer mountain.
When I found her (at the scene), I didn’t want her to talk too much as I wanted to get help.
There were no bullet wounds that I saw, but there was physical damage on the chest area, stomach, rib cage and back.
We’re actually trying to get the surveillance of that area and see if we can come up with anything.
There’re no witnesses so far and what we know is what she told us.</blockquote>
Juan said they will reveal concrete burial plans when pathology results are out. He said:
<blockquote>We signed all the forms that were required so we’re now just waiting for the pathologists to give us the results. It’s only then that we’ll have a solid plan. They’re saying it’ll take a bit of time.</blockquote>

The show is broadcast on the Facebook pages ZimdiTv and Masuwo with Anne Nhira every Tuesday at 4 PM.
During her first live broadcast, some Facebook users who were still smarting from the banning of Zodwa Wabantu trolled Nhira. Some of the hecklers attacked Nhira for her dressing, her accent, her, hair, etc. Some went as far as body shaming her.

Acting tourism Minister Patrick Zhuwao has denied reports that he granted Anne Nhira’s request to ban Zodwa Wabantu from performing at the Harare International Carnival because she is his side dish.
Said Zhuwao:
<blockquote>As soon as the officials responded to her (Nhira), those that did not agree with her chose to say she’s Patrick Zhuwao’s side dish. Now, what does that mean for young ladies that need to approach the government? It means you cannot write to the minister and you cannot engage with a minister. And what’s most fascinating about it is that some of the voices are feminists or people claiming to be feminists. If you don’t agree with her position and her appeal, please disagree with her on the basis that you see things differently, but don’t label her as Patrick Zhuwao’s side chick. What you then do is you stop all young ladies from being able to interact with ministers.</blockquote>

Zhuwao responds to claims Anne Nhira is his "small house"

Speaking on Star FM’s 326 Express, hosted by Phathisani Sibanda and KVG, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) boss Karikoga Kaseke said that former Studio 263 actress Anne Nhira is acting on behalf of people who do not want to see this year’s edition of the Harare International Carnival being a success.
His comments come after acting Tourism Minsiter Patrick Zhuwao issued a statement banning South African socialite Zodwa Wabantu from performing at the carnival. Said Kaseke:
<blockquote>Anne Nhira is just a mouth piece. There are people who do not want the carnival to happen, people who do not want Zimbabweans to be happy and forget about the hardships we are grappling with. Those are the people behind Anne Nhira’s antics. If she was genuine and had genuine concerns about Zodwa, she would have approached the right people, which is ZTA. I hear she wrote to the minister (Patrick Zhuwao, acting Minister of Tourism) and I hear the minister replied her. But how we work in government is if someone complains about something straight forward like the carnival, which everyone knows is organized by ZTA, well in such a case, Minister Zhuwao, I know him, he is a very brilliant young minister, he would have consulted us over the issue so we give him the real picture, not what he is being misled to believe by this Nhira girl. In her individual capacity, which I do not mean to undermine, I do not think she has a reason to mislead the government like she has done. First things first, how did she know that Cde Zhuwao is acting minister? I only just leant of that news this morning. So someone must have told her CDE Zhuwao is acting minister and that is the person behind all that Nhira is saying.</blockquote>

Former Studio 263 actress, Anne Nhira, has dismissed allegations that the government only listened to her letter of objection because she was sleeping with government ministers. Nhira categorically denied being involved in any inappropriate relationships with any minister. T<a href="http://news.pindula.co.zw/2017/08/29/zodwa-wabantu-banned-performing-harare-international-carnival-anne-nhira-complains/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">his comes after Patrick Zhuwao banned Zodwa Wabantu from performing at the Harare Internationa Carnival following a letter of objection from the former Studio 263 actress. </a>However, <a href="http://news.pindula.co.zw/2017/08/30/anne-nhira-gets-zodwa-banned-facebook-reacts/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">a lot of people seemed unhappy about Zodwa’s ban </a>and some accused Nhira of using her relationship with senior government officials to influence them. Nhira took to Facebook to deny the allegations writing:

Kindly note my engagement with government over the Zodwa issue was not only with the Ministry of Tourism but also with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Ministry of Youth as well as the Ministry of Culture. All this was not inspired by malice but a standpoint which probably resonates with many though they may not be as vocal. Prior to this engagement I have always stood for empowerment of local artists and I still feel it can be done. For example if we can have Zodwa performing for God knows how much, why not having Gonyeti or Bev performing for the same amount? While some question the logic behind having one performer stopped, it goes without saying that you can’t have wholesome advocacy.
Allegations have also been thrown around to the fact that I only got government attention because of “inappropriate” relations with government ministers but the truth is, it’s not every woman who sleeps their way to their goals and objectives. My engagement no mater how it may not be ideal for some was purely intellectual and for a good I believe in. Given the energy I have seen amongst many I believe we can achieve a lot if we harness our energy for a common good.</blockquote>

In an interview with Capitalk FM’s Farai Gwaze, South African socialite Zodwa Wabantu responded to Anne Nhira’s call for her not to be invited to perform to Harare International Carnival.
She said Brazilian dancers are dressed worse than her. She criticised Nhira who has stayed in South Africa and featured in a number of films there. Said Zodwa Wabantu:

Former Studio 263 actress Anne Nhira popularly known as Vimbai Jari has hogged the limelight for getting South African socialite Zodwa Wabantu from performing at the Harare International Carnival. Below are five things you probably did not know about her:

Zimbabwean actress Anne Nhira popularly Known as Vimbai from yesteryear soapie Studio 263 showed support for the first family by attending Grace Mugabe’s solidarity rally at Zanu-PF headquarters today. Nhira was wearing a t-shirt of Robert Mugabe.
Nhira has been back in the media after criticising local organisers for hiring South African socialite Zodwa Wabantu and asking her to perform at the Harare International Carnival. She also decried the fact that the organisers were looking for foreign talent while ignoring local talent. Writing on Facebook, Nhira said:
<blockquote>Zimbabwe’s tourism sector, which should be one of the instigators of local exhibitions calls a ‘South African’ socialite, not celebrity. A socialite named provocateur Zodwa.
In this case, Zodwa dances with no panties and posts naked pictures on social media. How does that qualify her to be a Zimbabwe national tourist attraction and to attend a function of the highest stature this year?</blockquote>

Fresh off getting Zodwa Wabantu banned, Anne Nhira attends Grace Mugabe solidarity rally

Yesterday acting Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Patrick Zhuwao<a href="http://news.pindula.co.zw/2017/08/29/zodwa-wabantu-banned-performing-harare-international-carnival-anne-nhira-complains/" rel="noopener" target="_blank"> banned South African dancer Zodwa Wabantu from participating at the Harare International Carnival.</a> This came after former Studio 263 actres<a href="http://news.pindula.co.zw/2017/08/27/anne-nhira-criticises-local-producers-hiring-zodwa-wabantu/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">s Anne Nhira had written a letter of objection.</a> Nhira then posted on Facebook that she was ecstatic that the government had reacted quickly to her letter. Her post attracted more than 1 700 comments in less than 12 hours.  The post also sparked debate, as some people were not amused with her antics while others defended her.

Anne Nhira Gets Zodwa Banned, Facebook Reacts

The Zimbabwean Government has banned South African dancer and socialite Zodwa Wabantu from performing at the upcoming Harare International Carnival after actress and model Anne Nhira complained.
In a letter addressed to Nhira, acting Minister of Tourism and Hospitality, Patrick Zhuwao said:
<blockquote>I acknowledge your complaint on the above subject matter. Government position is that the artist concerned (Zodwa Wabantu) may not participate at the Harare International Carnival. In this regard relevant authorities have been notified.</blockquote>
