An illegal foreign currency dealer (money changer) was shot and robbed of US$5,700, BWP2,000, R1,400, and a Samsung A13 mobile phone in Luveve on Monday night.
The ZRP’s Acting Spokesperson in Bulawayo Province, Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, confirmed the incident, which occurred around 9:30 PM.
She said the victim, a 30-year-old man from Gwabalanda, Bulawayo, who works as an illegal foreign currency dealer, was returning home from the city centre when he was accosted by the armed robber. Said Msebele:

He disembarked from a commuter omnibus at Maplanka Shops in Luveve and noticed that the suspect had also alighted at the same location.
As he walked along Intemba Road, he became suspicious when he saw the suspect appearing to talk on his mobile phone.
The victim stopped to let the suspect pass, but the man pulled out an unidentified pistol and shot him once in the stomach.

Msebele said the victim collapsed on the spot after being shot and began bleeding heavily from the wound. She added:

The suspect then searched him, took his bag containing US$5,700, BWP2,000, R1,400, and a Samsung A13 mobile phone before fleeing the scene.
A police report was filed, but the suspect has yet to be located. The victim was taken to Mpilo Hospital for treatment.

Msebele urged the public to avoid carrying large sums of money, especially at night, as it increases the risk of being targeted by criminals. 
She said people deposit large amounts of money in banks instead of keeping it on their person or at home.

A motorist was robbed of US$14,100 in cash by three armed assailants on Friday, 14 March, along GMB Road near the Mbizi location turn-off in Mvurwi.
According to a statement from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the suspects were travelling in a black Toyota Probox, while the victim was in a Honda Fit Hybrid. 
The suspects reportedly smashed the victim’s vehicle before seizing a handbag that contained the cash and other valuables. Police said:

In a related incident, police in Mutare have arrested Munyararadzi Madzure (39) and two juveniles (16) in connection with a theft case that occurred in Chikanga, Mutare, also on Friday.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the suspects allegedly stole US$25,000 from the complainant and used the stolen money to purchase a Honda Fit vehicle and three iPhones. The vehicle and cell phones have since been recovered.
There has been a surge in armed robbery cases across the country in recent years, driven by the growing preference of individuals and businesses to store large sums of cash outside the banking system. This trend has made them prime targets for criminals.
In some instances, these robberies have been linked to insider collusion, where security personnel or bank officials leak information about cash movements to criminals.

Motorist Robbed Of US$14,000 In Brazen Smash And Grab Incident

Police in Harare have arrested four suspects in connection with an armed robbery at the Meru Service Station in Kuwadzana on 3 March.
According to an H-Metro report, 47-year-old Hilary Hufa was attacked by seven armed robbers as he was about to leave the service station on High Glen Road.
Hufa had collected US$37,000 from the Mbare branch, US$45,000 from the Whitehouse branch, and an additional US$45,000 from the Kuwadzana branch at the time of the robbery.
In a statement issued on Friday, 7 March, Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi clarified that the stolen cash amounted to US$129,111. Said Nyathi:

The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of Willard Zvinorukwa (48), Ernest Manzunzu (45), Ashwin Mukondwa (30), and Bornface Masora (31) in connection with a robbery case which occurred on 3rd March 2025 at Meru Service Station, Kuwadzana, Harare where US$129,111.00 cash was stolen.
On 6th March 2025, detectives from CID Homicide Harare received information that one of the suspects involved in the robbery was in Chitungwiza.
The officers followed up on the lead and located Willard Zvinorukwa at number 5282, Unit O, Seke, Chitungwiza. Zvinorukwa attempted to flee, prompting the detectives to fire warning shots.
However, he continued to flee until the detectives shot him once on the right shin, leading to his arrest.
The Detectives interviewed Zvinorukwa, who implicated eight other suspects who include Ernest Manzunzu, Ashwin Mukondwa, and Bornface Masora. 
The Police followed up on the leads and arrested Ernest Manzunzu at number 17599 Kingsdale, Norton. Manzunzu was interviewed, he implicated several other suspects who are still at large.
Further investigations led to the arrest of Ashwin Mukondwa at his residence in Masona Village, Seke. 
Mukondwa also implicated several others and led the detectives to the arrest of Bornface Masora, who had an outstanding warrant of arrest for an armed robbery case in Karoi,
Police investigations revealed that the suspects shared the loot and received varying amounts of cash, ranging from US$4,000 to US$10,000, which they used to purchase goods and lend money to others. 
Recovered items include US$16,240 cash, a wardrobe, a kitchen unit, a television, kitchen utensils, and a cellphone.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police reiterates that there is no going back in the fight against armed robbery cases in the country.
The crack teams set up by the Commissioner- General of Police are highly alert and will respond appropriately to reports of armed robbery.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Republic Police commends the public for providing information that led to the arrest of the suspects.

Meru Employee Robbed Of US$127,000 After Collecting Cash From Fuel Stations

Five armed robbers reportedly pounced on a company in Workington, Harare, on Thursday, making off with US$120,400 in cash.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the suspects attacked a security guard on duty before entering the offices and stealing the money.
The police have not revealed the name of the company involved, only saying it is located along Lytton Road. The ZRP said:

In a separate incident in Harare, a 45-year-old woman and her son were robbed on Wednesday at their home in Phase 9, Eastview.

US$120,400 Stolen From Company On Lytton Road - ZRP

On the night of February 9, 2025, a gang of armed robbers stormed Tsukumai Farm in Headlands, owned by ZANU PF Secretary for Legal Affairs, Patrick Antony Chinamasa.
The attackers, driving a white Toyota Wish, overpowered the security officer at the entrance to the main farmhouse before turning their attention to the farm manager.
As reported by <a href="https://www.manicapost.co.zw/armed-robbers-pounce-on-chinamasa/">The Manica Post</a>, Chinamasa and his family were not present at the farm during the incident.
The robbers, after subduing the security guard, proceeded to demand that the farm manager show them where money was kept in the house.
Chinamasa confirmed the robbery on Wednesday but directed further inquiries to his wife, Monica Chinamasa.
Monica revealed that the robbers specifically asked for the location of any cash on the property during their intrusion. She said:

The robbers were four when they stormed my house at the farm. They tied the hands of the farm manager and security guard who was manning the entrance gate.
They force-marched them into the house and covered them with blankets. They ransacked the house, turning everything upside down, looking for money, which fortunately was not there.
There was no place or room they left unturned, be they beds and sofas, they were all turned upside down.
They took the car keys of my brand new Mazda BT-50, blue in colour, which we had yet to register. It had only travelled for 12,000 km.
They also took a pistol from the gun cabinet, a box of cocking oil and a set of kitchen knives. It was more of the money which they wanted.
They drove away with my car. We suspect that they came driving a white Toyota Wish vehicle. We reported the matter the same night, and the police from Headlands came to record statements.
The matter has since been transferred to the Criminal Investigations Department in Rusape.

Monica revealed that the robbers brutally assaulted several employees, leaving one of them with a permanent hearing impairment. She said:

The two employees were seriously injured, having been severely assaulted with iron bars. They were mainly attacked on the hands, and one of them suffered hearing impairment; his ears are currently non-functional.
They were treated and discharged from Rusape General Hospital, but remain in shock. As they were covered with blankets during the attack, they could not identify the type of guns used by the robbers.
This robbery has had a profound impact on us. I am currently unwell and in pain. The stolen car was essential for my work around the farm.
I am devastated whenever I think about how these individuals could target us, assuming we kept money in the house. It is utterly unfair and unacceptable. These were simply criminals targeting us.

A group of robbers broke into Patrick Chinamasa's farm, tied up the workers, and searched for money. They took a blue Mazda car and a gun. The thieves hurt some workers, leaving one with hearing problems. Patrick's wife said the robbers were cruel and their actions were unfair. Robbers Raid Patrick Chinamasa’s Farm, Make Off With Mazda And Firearm

Police have confirmed the arrest of six suspects in connection with a robbery and a case of unlawful entry into premises and theft.
In a statement, ZRP spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the suspects were arrested after detectives from CID Homicide in Harare received a tip-off that one of the suspects had sustained a gunshot wound.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect had been shot by his accomplices during a robbery at a house near Dema Tollgate, Seke, Mashonaland East. Said Nyathi:

The suspects are being linked to four cases of robbery and a case of unlawful entry into premises and theft, including a case of robbery which occurred on 12th January 2025 at a house at Mangwende Village, Seke where a king-size bed, solar panels, four cellphones, curtains and other household goods were stolen as well as another robbery incident which occurred on 21st January 2025 at a homestead at Chanakira Village, Seke where two cellphones and USD$2 030.00 cash were stolen.
The suspects are also clearing a case of unlawful entry into premises which occurred on 12th September 2024 at a house in Glenview 3, Harare where a 32-inch television set, blankets and other household goods were stolen.

Gunshot Wound Leads To Arrest Of Armed Robbery Gang

Three suspected armed robbers were arrested in Bulawayo after one of their accomplices accidentally left behind his wallet at the crime scene.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the incident which occurred at Bambanani Shopping Centre in Gumtree on February 2, 2025, around 8 AM.
The suspects—Hopewell Ndlovu (32) of Pelandaba West, Emmanuel Masuku (29), also known as Mayibongwe, and Israel Zikhali (26) of Pumula South—were taken into custody. However, a fourth suspect, Mpumelelo Mafu, is still on the run.
Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele (pictured) told <a href="https://cite.org.zw/robber-drops-wallet-lands-gang-in-jail/">CITE</a> that the wallet found at the scene led officers to Ndlovu.
His arrest led to the recovery of weapons used in the robbery, and he later provided information that implicated his accomplices. She said:

We recovered an Okapi knife, the clothing he wore during the robbery, and some of the stolen cellphones.
He then identified his accomplices, leading to their arrests and the recovery of a .303 rifle without a butt, a pistol with no magazine or rounds, and additional stolen cellphones.

Msebele further revealed that the suspects were armed with a pistol and threatened the shopkeeper and her colleagues, ordering them to remain still.
One of the suspects then approached the counter and stole approximately US$700 in cash, along with US$200 worth of NetOne and Econet airtime. She added:

They also made off with several cellphones, including an Itel P38 (black), an iPhone 11 (silver-black), two small black Itel phones, and four unidentified cellphones belonging to customers that were charging in the shop before fleeing along Old Esigodini Road.

Armed Robbers Captured After One Of Them Dropped A wallet At Crime Scene

Residents of New Lobengula in Bulawayo intervened to stop an armed robbery at Sai Mart on Saturday evening, throwing stones at the robbers and causing them to flee empty-handed.
The armed robbers entered the Sai Mart outlet, formerly Choppies, around 8 PM and fired shots, injuring a shop employee with a gunshot wound to the thigh. In response to the gunfire, the community confronted the armed robbers, forcing them to flee.
Emmanuel Mutoko, a resident, narrated to the <a href="https://www.chronicle.co.zw/residents-stone-armed-robbers-shop-manager-shot-mob-steps-in-to-help/">Chronicle</a> how he scaled a nearby precast wall and hid in a neighbour’s yard as bullets flew in different directions.
The robbers fired indiscriminately at the crowd of residents attempting to stop the robbery. Said Mutoko:

The shop closes at 8 PM, and as staff were leaving, there was a commotion as some men forced their way inside. One of them, who seemed to be watching the place from outside, started shooting randomly.
Residents gathered around the shop and began throwing stones, and he fired a few more shots. I jumped over a perimeter wall and hid next door because I was scared of being hit by a stray bullet.

Mutoko said the robbers exploited a malfunctioning tower light to escape into the darkness after realising the residents were determined to stop them. He added:
<blockquote>
It all happened within a few minutes, and then the robbers were gone. No one chased them. That’s when we heard that the manager had been shot inside the shop.

The acting spokesperson for the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, confirmed the incident. She said:

Police in Bulawayo are investigating a case of attempted robbery and attempted murder that occurred on February 1, 2025, in New Lobengula, Bulawayo.
At approximately 8:10 PM, a brazen attempted robbery and attempted murder occurred at Choppies (now Sai Mart), where a 59-year-old male complainant, a resident of Cowdray Park, sustained serious injuries.
The complainant (the shop manager) was reconciling invoices in his office while the rest of the staff were clocking out.
As the complainant was about to open the door for the staff to leave, three suspects emerged from their hiding place near the shop.
The first suspect fired a single shot, causing some workers to scatter and others to seek refuge at the back of the shop.
The second suspect fired two shots from the exit door, attempting to intimidate the crowd of onlookers.

One of the suspects forced the manager into the strong room and demanded that he open the safe.
When the manager said he didn’t have the keys, the suspect shot him in both thighs. Said Msebele:

As more people joined the crowd outside the shop and began pelting the suspects with stones, the armed robbers panicked and abandoned their attempt to rob the store. They left the scene empty-handed.

Msebele also encouraged business owners to hire security guards from reputable companies to protect their employees and property from criminal activity.

Armed With Stones, Residents Drive Away Gun-Toting Robbers At Sai Mart In Bulawayo

Police have confirmed the arrest of seven suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Monday, January 20, 2025, at around 02:20 AM at a company in Southerton, Harare.
The suspects made off with a safe containing US$12,000 in cash, a Nissan NP300 motor vehicle, a Closed Circuit Television Video Digital Recorder, an HP laptop, and other valuables.
Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, identified the suspects as Tapiwanashe Bakasa (30), Rodgers Magreen (28), Tinashe Thompson (30), Tatenda Mashayamombe (29), Peter Mahwite (49), Anymore Gatsi (38), and Wilson Masvosve (35). Added Commissioner Nyathi:

The stolen vehicle was recovered dumped at the corner of Robert Mugabe and Julius Nyerere, Harare Central Business District.
On 20th January 2025 in the afternoon, detectives from CID Homicide received information that the suspects had driven the stolen vehicle to a house along Mutatarimbo Road, Mufakose before dumping it in Harare Central Business District.
The detectives tracked the suspects to Mufakose resulting in the arrest of Tapiwanashe Bakasa and the recovery of the safe with various company documents and Closed Circuit Television Video Digital Recorder.

Police said Tapiwanashe Bakasa implicated Rodgers Magreen, leading to his arrest in Stoneridge, Harare, and the recovery of US$1,565 in cash and an HP laptop.
Rodgers Magreen then implicated Tinashe Thompson, who was arrested at Chibwe Shopping Centre, Stoneridge, Harare.
Subsequently, detectives recovered a Unique Pistol with an empty magazine, pepper spray, an okapi knife, US$800 in cash, and a motorcycle which the suspect allegedly bought for US$1,200 using the stolen funds.
According to Nyathi, the other suspects, Tatenda Mashayamombe, Peter Mahwite, Anymore Gatsi, and Wilson Masvosve, were arrested in Mbare on the same day.

Seven people were arrested for stealing US$12,000 and other items from a company in Southerton, Harare. The police found the stolen car and some of the stolen items at different locations. One suspect led to the arrest of another, and so on, until all seven were caught. Some of the stolen money was used to buy a motorcycle. All the suspects were captured on the same day in different places. The police were able to recover some of the stolen items.

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a financial institution in Beatrice on Saturday morning.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is appealing for information that could help apprehend the culprits.
According to a statement from the ZRP, three unidentified male suspects, armed with pistols and wearing face masks, seized keys from the teller at the booth.
They forcibly took US$3,500 in cash and three cellphones before locking the teller in the booth and making their escape in a silver-grey Toyota Sienta.
Police are urging anyone with information about the robbery to come forward. Said the ZRP:

Armed Robbers Strike Financial Institution In Beatrice, Make Off With US$3,500

30-year-old Josiah Saungweme from Bvirindi B, Chief Zimunya, Mutare, was recently sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Mutare Magistrates’ Court for robbing a teenager of his bicycle at gunpoint.
The incident occurred in September 2024, when Saungweme approached the 17-year-old complainant, who was riding his silver buffalo bicycle along the Marange-22 Miles road.
Pretending to ask for directions, Saungweme then pulled out a Blow F92 pistol and demanded the teenager’s bicycle. Fearing for his safety, the complainant handed over the bicycle.
A police report was filed, leading to Saungweme’s arrest.

Mutare Man Receives 12-Year Sentence For Robbing Teenager Of A Bicycle At Gunpoint

A 30-year-old man from Mutare, Josiah Saungweme, has been sentenced to eight years in prison by the Magistrate’s Court for a violent incident involving his employer’s vehicle and cash during a dispute over unpaid wages.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the incident occurred on July 14, 2024, around 9 AM.
Saungweme, hailing from Musi Homestead in Mutare, confronted his employer at the workplace in Doornfontein Vantage, demanding payment for wages owed to him.
In a fit of rage, Saungweme forcibly took the keys to his employer’s beige Nissan X-Trail and coerced the employer and other workers into the vehicle. He then demanded cash, resulting in the employer surrendering US$260 to him.
Saungweme drove the stolen vehicle to Whitehouse Shopping Centre. On the return trip, he became aggressive, pushing one of the workers out of the car when the worker objected to his behaviour.
Upon returning to Doornfontein, Saungweme exited the vehicle, retrieved a machete from a wooden cabin, and threatened everyone inside before fleeing in the car. The stolen vehicle contained a Redmi cellphone belonging to the complainant.
The complainant reported the incident to the ZRP Dzivarasekwa, leading to Saungweme’s arrest on September 14, 2024, by detectives from CID Mutare at Bezel Bridge.
He guided the detectives to the recovery of the vehicle, which had been abandoned in the Wengezi area of Mutare.
The cellphone was later located in Zvimba. The total value of the stolen vehicle was assessed at US$5,000.
Ultimately, Saungweme received a sentence of 10 years in prison, with 2 years suspended, resulting in an effective eight-year term.

Mutare Man (30) Kidnaps And Robs Employer During A Dispute Over Unpaid Wages

A Nyanga-based businessman was robbed of US$5,000 in cash, a vehicle, and other valuables by five armed robbers who attacked him as he returned home at night.
Assistant Inspector Chinyoka, the Acting ZRP Manicaland Provincial spokesperson, confirmed that the victim, Edward Tsarwe, was severely assaulted during the robbery on December 6.
Tsarwe sustained head injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Nyanga District Hospital. Said Chinyoka:

The robbers knocked at the main door where the complainant’s wife was sleeping. She opened the door, and the robbers stormed into the house holding a pistol, demanding cash. Fearing for her life, Mr Tsarwe’s wife surrendered US$ 5,000 to them.
The robbers allegedly searched the house, stole a 48-inch plasma television, two iPhones and seven blankets, and drove away with a Nissan X-trail vehicle.

A gang of armed robbers targeted a Mukuru Money Transfer agency at Makomva Shopping Centre in Glen View, Harare, on Monday morning, making off with an undisclosed amount of money.
The robbery occurred around 10 AM at the Mukuru booth, which is situated inside a pharmacy. The assailants, armed with pistols, arrived in a black Toyota Mark X, parking it in front of the premises before brandishing their firearms.

Armed Robbers Strike Mukuru, Hold Employees Hostage

Police have confirmed the arrest of five suspects in connection with two armed robberies that took place in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo, on November 8 and 22, 2024.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said that in the first incident, an undisclosed amount of cash, a shotgun with one round, an Escort rifle with six rounds, and two cellphones were stolen.
In the second incident, US$26,508.00 in cash and five cellphones were taken. Said Commissioner Nyathi:

Upon arrest, Nkosiyazi Moyo fired at the detectives and was shot on the chest. As a result, Nkosiyazi Moyo sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital in Bulawayo for treatment.
A Norinco pistol charged with five rounds and two empty cartridges were recovered at the scene.
The suspects are being linked to a case of robbery which occurred on 08th November 2024 at a service station in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo where undisclosed amount of cash, a shot gun with one round, an Escort rifle with six rounds and two cellphones were stolen.
Further, the suspects are clearing a robbery case which occurred on 22nd November 2024 at a house in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo where USD 26 508.00 cash and five cellphones were stolen.
The other suspect, Alex Nyathi is on the run.

Five Suspects Arrested In Cowdray Park Armed Robberies

Chaos erupted at a liquor wholesale warehouse on Khami Road in Kelvin North, Bulawayo, on Tuesday night when seven unidentified men armed with a rifle stormed the premises, leaving multiple workers injured.
The incident occurred around 8:30 PM when the robbers jumped over the perimeter wall and confronted the security guard at the main gate.
In a panic, the guard attempted to flee but was struck in the head with an unknown object, resulting in a serious injury.
The gang made their way into the warehouse, where they encountered a general employee and assaulted him.
Once inside, the perpetrators fired several gunshots, instilling fear as they ordered all workers to lie on the ground.

The company confirmed the theft in a statement, revealing that the intruders immobilised security guards before disabling CCTV equipment.
They then used precision cutting tools to access the company’s strong rooms and safes, stealing US$11,069, R20,481, and P80.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, ZRP spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said on November 25, 2024, a police crack team in Bulawayo received a tip-off linking the suspects to the robbery cases.
The suspects were tracked and spotted at their hideout in Luveve, Bulawayo, where they fired at detectives, leading to a shootout.
The detectives disarmed and arrested the suspects, leading to the recovery of a 9 mm FN Browning Pistol with three live rounds and eight empty cartridges. Reads the statement:

A suspected armed robber’s girlfriend has been implicated in two armed robberies after police recovered several stolen items from her house, a court has heard.
As reported by <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/armed-robbers-girlfriend-implicated-in-two-robberies/">H-Metro</a>, Monica Muguti, of Unit M, Chitungwiza, is alleged to have received some of the stolen property from her boyfriend, Tawanda Manokore.
Acting on a tip-off, the police visited Muguti’s residence, where she led them to a wardrobe containing various stolen items.
Among the recovered items were bangles, a bead necklace, a green hip flask inscribed “Stanley since 1913,” a beads bangle, a Guess Waterpro silver and gold watch, a Jeep silver and blue watch, and a Pig gold medal.
In the first robbery, the court heard that on October 26, 2024, Tawanda Manokore, Sarezi Shonhiwa, Tafadzwa Chakuteka, and Willye Chirawu allegedly attacked a couple at their residence on Christon Road, Christon Bank, as they were preparing for bed.
The robbers, armed with machetes and knives and wearing balaclavas, posed as police officers investigating a stolen laptop.
They first attacked the gardener in his cottage, handcuffed him, and then took him to the main house, where they confronted the couple.
The robbers tied up the couple, demanding cash and valuables while threatening to shoot them. They ransacked the house, stealing US$160 cash from a handbag and US$600 from a wallet, six cellphones, a handbag, a gas tank, groceries, and a 9mm Walther pistol with live ammunition from a safe.
The robbers loaded their loot into the victims’ blue Toyota Rav4, which they later abandoned in Mazowe along with some of the stolen items.
In the second robbery, on November 3, the group attacked the complainants at their farm in Goromonzi. They entered the kitchen through an open door and threatened the victims, tying them up and demanding cash.
The robbers stole an iPhone 15 Pro Max, clothes, a laptop, a Bluetooth speaker, US$1,000, an iPhone 13 Pro Max, US$2,000, jewellery, and firearms, including a Beretta 12-bore shotgun, a 410 Beretta shotgun, and a pellet gun.
CCTV footage of the robbery went viral on social media, leading to the arrest of Tafadzwa Chakuteka, who was implicated by co-accused Shonhiwa.
Chakuteka led police to Inkomo Barracks Marriage Quarters, where they recovered the stolen Walther pistol, two empty magazines, and live rounds, which had been hidden in the chimney of his official residence.
The firearm was stolen in the Christon Bank robbery.

Armed Robber’s Girlfriend Implicated In Two Robberies After Police Find Stolen Items At Her Home

A suspected armed robber was shot dead by a miner in Concession on Tuesday morning. The deceased, identified as 35-year-old Kudzanai Zuze, was with three accomplices who fled the scene after the miner, Chinai Chimanga, opened fire.
According to <a href="https://bulawayo24.com/index-id-news-sc-national-byo-247828.html">Bulawayo24</a>, the robbers had first poisoned Chimanga’s dogs to gain entry into his yard, which allowed them to carry out their plans. A source close to the investigation was quoted as saying:

The police then followed up at the residence of the second suspect, locating his wife, 29-year-old Consider Nyakudya, in Rujeko, Glendale.
She told the officers that her husband had left home on November 11 around 7 PM and did not return.

A 23-year-old Bulawayo Polytechnic student was allegedly robbed and fatally stabbed last Monday, during the night, because she had identified one of the suspects during the mugging.
Inobubele Mhlanga was brutally attacked by Thamsanqa Ndebele (26) and Euton Sebatha (36) after getting off a commuter bus near the TM turnoff bus stop in Cowdray Park.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson for Bulawayo Province, Inspector Abednico Ncube, confirmed the incident to <a href="https://newsday.co.zw/southerneye/local/article/200034746/student-murdered-for-identifying-robber">Southern Eye</a>.
He said Mhlanga had recognised one of the suspects as they lived in the same neighbourhood. To silence her forever, and ensure that she would not reveal the identity of the robbers, she was killed. Said Inspector Ncube:

The day after the incident, police rounded up known robbery suspects in the area.
One suspect, Playmore Mpofu (27) from Cowdray Park, admitted to often committing robberies in the Cowdray Park area with Ndebele and Sebatha.
Based on information from the community, police were able to arrest Ndebele and Sebatha in the Cowdray Park area.
During interrogation, Ndebele confessed to attacking the victim, Inobubele Mhlanga, and taking her handbag containing $30 with the help of his accomplice, Sebatha. Said Inspector Ncube:

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with an armed robbery that took place at Pircy Farm, Goromonzi, on November 6, 2024. During the robbery, thieves made off with US$3,000 in cash and valuables estimated at US$10,000.
The suspect, identified as Sarezi Shonhiwa (57), was arrested on November 9 at Zin’anga Village in Seke by detectives from the CID Homicide division.
According to the ZRP, the robbery was captured on CCTV, and images of the suspects were shared on social media as part of a public appeal for information.
The robbers, armed with machetes and pistols, gained access to the farm by cutting through a backyard fence.
They entered the house through an open kitchen door, where they attacked the farm owners and stole cash, clothing, two speakers, three cellphones, laptops, jewellery, groceries, and three firearms.
In a statement released on November 10, ZRP spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that Shonhiwa had admitted to his involvement in the robbery and had implicated his accomplices in the crime. Said Comm. Nyathi:

Sarezi Shonhiwa and his accomplices are also clearing another case of armed robbery which occurred on 26th October 2024 along Christon Bank Road, Christon Bank, where a Toyota Rav 4 vehicle, registration number AEE 6525, a Star pistol, five cellphones and USD 760. 00 cash were stolen.

ZRP Captures Goromonzi Farm Robbery Suspect After CCTV Images Shared

Three Chinese nationals sustained serious injuries during a robbery at a copper processing plant in Chinhoyi on Sunday.
According to <a href="https://www.newzimbabwe.com/three-chinese-nationals-shot-in-copper-plant-robbery/">NewZimbabwe.com</a>, the incident occurred around 1 AM at the Lanyun Mining Zimbabwe copper processing unit located in Alaska, on the outskirts of Chinhoyi.
The injured persons, identified as Chen Fang Jun (49), Helong (25), and Wang Yin Bin (49), are currently receiving treatment at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital.
Reports indicate that Jun was shot in the upper arm, while Helong suffered gunshot wounds to both legs. Bin also sustained injuries to both legs, with one leg fractured.
Lanyun Mining Zimbabwe director Huang, speaking through an interpreter, told NewZimbabwe.com that approximately five or six men invaded the company premises, which includes staff quarters, and forced their way into the rooms occupied by Jun, Helong, and Bin. He said:

Three Chinese Nationals Shot And Injured In Chinhoyi Copper Plant Robbery

A Zimbabwean armed robber was killed, and his two accomplices sustained gunshot wounds following a shootout with security agents on Wednesday after a robbery in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng province, according to the South African Police Service (SAPS).
SAPS claimed that the trio opened fire after being cornered while counting their loot in a rented room.
The police said the Zimbabweans were subdued by officers from SAPS and a security company in the early hours of Thursday this week. SAPS said:

According to the statement, SAPS received a tip-off about a robbery in progress at a local filling station at Nhlazatshe Crossings.
Upon arriving at the scene, they learned that the suspects had fled with cash, cigarettes, and betting vouchers.
A follow-up investigation led the police and their counterparts to a rented room where the suspects were cornered.
SAPS Mpumalanga provincial spokesperson Captain Magonseni Nkosi said:

It was in this place where the three were cornered and we are informed that they were still counting the cash believed to have been stolen during the said business robbery.
Instead of complying, the suspects fired some shots from inside the room and police had no option, but to fire back while moving into the room.

Nkosi said the suspects were subdued, with one dying from gunshot wounds. The police recovered an undisclosed amount of cash and a firearm. The identity of the deceased is being investigated.
The other two suspects, now receiving medical treatment under police guard, are expected to appear at the Elukwatini Magistrates Court soon.
Nkosi added that the Independent Police Investigative Directorate will investigate the shooting incident for transparency and fairness, as SAPS members were involved.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the theft of US$20,000 from a cash-in-transit vehicle belonging to a private security company on October 16, 2024. The vehicle was transporting cash from Beitbridge to Mutare at the time of the incident.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest of Kelvin Chisandako. He said:

On 03rd November 2024, police in Masvingo arrested the suspect at Mangwawo Village, Mawarire, Mwenezi after receiving information that he was in possession of large sums of cash.
The suspect revealed to the police that he stole the money from the cash-in- transit vehicle which he boarded at Lutumba Business Centre, Beitbridge.
The arrest led to the recovery of USD$ 600.00 as well as ZAR 2 320.00 cash, an empty cash box and a Toyota Aqua vehicle, registration number AGO 5702, which the suspect bought for USD 9 800.00.
Investigations by the police established that the suspect used part of the money to buy 30 X 12 feet roofing sheets, 35 X 50 kg bags of cement, seven window frames, two French doors, 15 000 farm bricks, a cellphone and three men’s suits.

Two security guards are facing allegations of colluding with armed robbers to steal cash from the premises they were tasked with guarding.
According to <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/guards-caught-on-cctv-sharing-loot-with-robbers/">H-Metro</a>, the guards were caught on CCTV receiving their share of the stolen money from their suspected accomplices.
The guards, Marshal Siyamboko and Tonderai Sixpence are employed by Raven Shield security company and were stationed at Turnal Holdings.
It is alleged that in the early hours of an unspecified date, a group of armed robbers arrived at the complex armed with pistols, machetes, and iron bars.
The robbers subdued the other security guards on duty, leaving them under the watch of one gang member outside the premises.
Siyamboko and Sixpence allegedly assisted their accomplices by showing them around the yard, pointing out offices and identifying their target room.
Using iron bars, the armed robbers broke into various office doors, ultimately accessing a safe from which they stole US$5,866.
The CCTV footage later revealed Siyamboko and Sixpence receiving a share of the loot and chatting with the robbers.
During police investigations, Siyamboko led them to recover US$40, which he had hidden under a plank in the Turnal Holdings car park. He also directed detectives to another US$40, concealed in a jacket in his bedroom.
In court, Sixpence claimed that he never received any money from the robbers and insisted that he was coerced into compliance with their demands.
