Multi-award-winning gospel musician Blessing Shumba is set to unveil his much-anticipated new album, “Christos”, this Saturday, June 29th, at the Golden Peacock Villa Hotel in Mutare. The event is scheduled to commence at 4 PM.
“Christos” is a Greek word that translates to “the Anointed One”, reflecting the spiritual theme of the 5-track album.
In addition to Shumba’s performance, the launch event will feature appearances by more than 13 fellow gospel artists. This lineup includes:

Blessing Shumba To Launch New Album "Christos"

Popular gospel artist Blessing Shumba will this Friday release his eighth album titled Heal Our Land.
The album carries eight tracks namely Amen, Tenda Jesu, Ndina Jesu, Holy Spirit, Nyasha Dzenyu, Jesu Anopa, Tinokunda and the title track Heal Our Land.
Speaking to H-Metro on Thursday, Shumba said he intends to uplift people’s in these trying times through his latest offering. He said:
<blockquote>The album will be out tomorrow (today) and everything is set now.
We have printed the copies and I am confident the album will certainly change people’s lives.
It carries the message which uplift the hearts of believers in these trying times.</blockquote>
Shumba said the coronavirus crisis had delayed the launch of the album.
His two sons Nervius and Levite are expected to provide cover during the album launch.

Blessing Shumba Drops New Album

Gospel musician Blessing Shumba has laughed off social media reports that he kidnapped a teenage boy in Mt Selinda in Chipinge, Newsday reports.
In an interview with the publication, the Mutare based musician said:
<blockquote>I want to thank all my fans and family members who have shown concern by calling me, texting me, and all Zimbabweans… I know some could not get theopportunity to talk to me, but I am safe
l did not kidnap anyone, but I know this is the work of the devil. The devil comes in different ways 
and this time around, the devil just wanted to tarnish my image but he is not going to achieve his 
motive.</blockquote>
Shumba says he has received a lot of messages and calls from concerned fans and friends after they saw the report on social media.

Blessing Shumba Dismisses Social Media Reports That He Kidnapped A Teenage Boy

Gospel musician Mathias Mhere has collaborated with his supposed rival, Blessing Shumba on a song titled “Driver Wehupenyu”.
Mhere told the Daily News that the single is off his forthcoming album and is his first-ever duet with Shumba. He said:
<blockquote>I will be dropping the single before the album. It will come as a precursor to the album which will be out in June.
… The issue of voices has been raised on different occasions and I believe this song will show how we celebrate the differences in our voices. In fact, if we had similar voices, then there would be no reason to combine on this song.</blockquote>
Mhere’s latest album, “Greater Than Solomon” was released on 21 June last year, a few weeks after the death of his brother, with the first track, “Chipangamazano” dedicated to him.
Meanwhile, Shumba also released his latest album last year, titled “The Psalmist”.

Popular Gospel musician Rev <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Togarirepi_Chivaviro">Togarirepi Chivaviro</a>‘s son Tinashe will this coming Sunday launch his own album, Daily News reports.
Tinashe who is currently performing in Texas in the US will launch his album live on <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Radio_Zimbabwe">Radio Zimbabwe.</a> The album according to the daily news has 6 tracks namely:

Rev Chavaviro's Son To Launch His Album On Sunday

Hakuna Anoramba and Chiedza are expected to drop today. These songs were done by 2 award-winning gospel musicians Togarepi Chivariro and Blessing Shumba, the Herald reports.
The celebrated musicians separately wrote both songs, Hakuna Anoramba was written by Rev Chivavariro, Blessing Shumba wrote Chiedza.
In separate interviews the musicians said:
<blockquote>I am very honoured to work with Pastor Shumba on these two projects, which I believe were long overdue. It is something we had been discussing, but could not do it. When the opportune time arose, we then did the projects – Rev Chivariro
We believe these songs will touch many souls because of the rich content they carry. They are praise songs which are full of life, hope, encouragement and assurance – Blessing Shumba</blockquote>
Reverend Chivariro is known for making supa mega collabos like Maranatha and Ebenezer.

Ebenezer Hitmaker Collaborates With Blessing Shumba

Gospel musician Blessing Shumba launched his much-awaited album on Thursday in Harare.
Shumba’s 7th album is titled ‘”NdiMweya” and has twelve tracks. Speaking during the album launch, Information and Publicity Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said:
<blockquote>Of late social media, abuse has been rampant and the government seeks the input of influential musicians to help educate the nation towards harnessing positive benefits of social media platforms other than perpetrating hate speech and committing crimes.</blockquote>
Other musicians who attended the launch include Vabati VaJehovah and Agatha Murudzwa who is a backing vocalist on one of the songs on the album.
In an interview with Standard Style on the sidelines of the event, Shumba said this about his latest offering:
<blockquote>The Bible says the world cannot receive the Holy Spirit because it does not know Him and cannot see Him.
So, people should have knowledge about the Holy Spirit, so that they can receive and be comforted.</blockquote>
Some of the songs on the new album include Anoita Zvishamiso, Ndimweya, Deborah, Secret and Farai, the latter which features Shumba’s wife Pauline, backed by Agatha.
Shumba revealed that an accompanying DVD is expected to be on the market before August.
Blessing Shumba’s other albums include Ishe Wazvose, Anoita Minana, Ndimwari and Shongwe.
Meanwhile, Mathias Mhere will launch his 8th album in the first week of June this year titled ‘Greater Than Solomon’.

Huge Crowd Attends Blessing Shumba's Album Launch

Mutare-based gospel artist, Blessing Shumba is set to launch a 12 track album, Ndimweya, this Thursday at the Zimbabwe College of Music in Harare.
Shumba said the music industry is not a stroll in the park and that it takes perseverance and focus to be successful in the industry.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Ring Driving School ISO 9001:2015 certification ceremony in Harare on Friday, Shumba said:
<blockquote>This music industry is not that easy as many would want to believe. It is not easy to be listened to by people and later have your music played on the radio.
It took me almost 12 years to be on the map, so one has to be focused on the call and not what will be happening in life or what people will be saying about you.
If you want to be a gospel artiste who ministers through music, you have to be a Christian who walks the talk from your music as it is not easy to sing gospel music when one is not involved in it.
We are happy that we are presenting something new to our fans this Thursday as we launch our seventh album Ndimweya here in Harare before taking it home to Mutare.</blockquote>
Shumba said that the message of his new offering is all about how the Holy Spirit influences the lives of believers. He added that the album is an audio Bible which must heal people’s souls.

Gospel Singer Blessing Shumba To Release 7th Album, ‘Ndimweya’

Award-winning gospel artist, Blessing Shumba said that the music industry in Zimbabwe needs more attention as piracy and the collapse of recording companies have become huge challenges.
Shumba also called for the return of gospel events of the past such as the famed ‘Nguva Yakwana’ festival. In an interview with the Mail and Telegraph, Shumba said
<blockquote>We need our own people and the relevant authorities to take the arts sector seriously. There is no reason why we cannot do something about such perennial issues like piracy, we need to nip it in the bud sooner rather than later.
Let us come together and do all we can to revive our gospel music industry, from where I stand, that includes resuscitating sleeping giants like ZMC (Zimbabwe Music Corporation), RTP (Record and Tape Promotions).
Aside from lacking standout performers, maybe due to lack of sponsors, we also lack the big events, you know, the likes of Nguva Yakwana etc. We don’t really have anything on the calendar right now to speak of.</blockquote>

Gospel Singer Blessing Shumba Yearns For The Return Of 'Nguva Yakwana'

Blessing Shumba will release his sixth studio album titled “My Season” and a DVD compilation titled “Parables Volume 1”. He said that there will be no launch ceremonies for the releases due to study commitments.
Shumba is currently studying for a diploma in preaching at Mutare Bible College. Songs on the new 8 track album include:

Blessing Shumba releases 6th album and DVD compilation

Award-winning gospel artiste Togarepi Chivaviro has featured Mathias Mhere, Blessing Shumba, Agatha Murudzwa, Leonard Zhakata, Olinda Marowa and Josh Kays on a single titled Maranatha (Come Lord Jesus).
The single which will be released next month also features South Africans Muzi, Putuma and Zandie on backing vocals. The song appears to be an attempt by Chivaviro to again apply the winning formula which Ebenezera an award winning hit. Speaking to Daily News the South Africa-based gospel said that the new collaboration was recorded in response to public request and he denied that it was an attempt to replicate what he had done with the song Ebenezer.
