<p>Switzerland’s Federal Supreme Court has dismissed Caster Semenya’s appeal in which she was challenging last year’s ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)  <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2019/05/01/watch-caster-semenya-has-to-compete-with-man-or-reduce-testosterone-levels/">that female athletes like Semenya, with differences of sexual development (DSD), must take testosterone reducing drugs</a>, CNN reports.</p>
<p>Semenya posted her disappointment on Twitter and said:</p>
<blockquote><p>Chills my people, a man can change the rules but the very same man cannot rule my life. What I’m saying is that I might have failed against them (but) the truth is that I have won this battle long ago. Go back to my achievements then you will understand. Doors might be closed (but) not locked</p></blockquote>
<p>Semenya also released a statement through her lawyers which reads in part:</p>

<div class="zn-body__paragraph">I am very disappointed by this ruling, but refuse to let World Athletics drug me or stop me from being who I am. Excluding female athletes or endangering our health solely because of our natural abilities puts World Athletics on the wrong side of history.</div>

<div class="zn-body__paragraph">I will continue to fight for the human rights of female athletes, both on the track and off the track, until we can all run free the way we were born. I know what is right and will do all I can to protect basic human rights, for young girls everywhere.</div>

Caster Semenya Loses Appeal To Stop Women With DSD From Taking Testosterone Reducing Drugs

<p>Caster Semenya using Instagram announced her decision to try and qualify to compete in the 200-meter race in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics set for July this year, CBC sports reports. The 200-meter race doesn’t require that Caster take drugs to reduce her testosterone hormones levels.</p>
<p>Announcing her decision Caster said:</p>
<blockquote><p>This decision has not been an easy one but, as always, I look forward to the challenge and will work hard, doing all I can to qualify for Tokyo and compete to the best of my ability for South Africa,</p></blockquote>
<p>Caster was last year banned from competing in the 800-meter race unless <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2019/05/01/watch-caster-semenya-has-to-compete-with-man-or-reduce-testosterone-levels/">she took some drugs to reduce her testosterone hormones levels </a>which the IAAF board said gave her an unfair advantage over other female athletes.</p>

<p>This Nike advert in support of Caster Semenya. The advert was done in September 2018. This followed an announcement by Semenya months earlier that she would legally challenge new IAAF rules requiring <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperandrogenism" title="Hyperandrogenism">hyperandrogenous</a> athletes to take medication to lower their testosterone levels.</p>
