A 30-year-old man from Goromonzi has been arrested for allegedly killing his 29-year-old wife after alleging infidelity.
Parence Chishiri reportedly struck his wife, Shorai Kundishora, in the ear, causing her to collapse. She was rushed to a local clinic but was declared dead upon arrival. Police said in a statement:

Police in Goromonzi have arrested Parence Chishiri (30) in connection with a case of murder which occurred at Chishiri Village, Rusike. The suspect hit his wife, Shorai Kundishora (29) with a fist on the ear after accusing her of infidelity. The victim died upon admission at a local clinic in Goromonzi.

In a separate crime of passion, police in Coleen Bawn are investigating a murder that took place last Thursday at Forest H 60 Mine.
Police said that the suspects, identified only as Trinity, Benito, Mashelly, and three others who remain unknown, attacked Mlamuleli Mangena with a sharp object to the head following an argument over a girlfriend.
The suspects assaulted Tinashe Chirenje, 30, with a machete and an axe.

A man killed his wife because he thought she was cheating on him. The woman collapsed and died after he hit her in the ear. In a different incident, a man was killed in a fight over a girlfriend. The suspects used sharp objects to attack him and another man. The police are investigating both cases. It's sad when people use violence because of jealousy or anger. These crimes of passion are dangerous and can end in tragedy.

Two Killed In Crimes Of Passion

A 26-year-old married woman from Nhedziwa is fighting for her life after being brutally stabbed by her married boyfriend.
The victim, Violet Mapungwana, was attacked by Gamuchirai Hungwe, who stabbed her multiple times in the head, chest, hands, thighs, and back with a knife.
The incident occurred in Kwanaka Village under Chief Mutambara in Chimanimani on Sunday.
It is alleged that Hungwe had spotted Mapungwana flirting with another man, identified as Givie, at the Nhedziwa Business Centre, where Mapungwana operates a vending stall.
Driven by jealousy, Hungwe later followed Mapungwana to her home and confronted her about her suspected involvement with Givie.
When Mapungwana told Hungwe that she was ending their illicit affair, he allegedly stabbed her multiple times, leaving her with serious injuries. The victim is currently battling for her life at the Mutambara Mission Hospital.
Adding to the tragedy, Hungwe had the audacity to call Mapungwana’s husband and inform him that he had stabbed his wife for cheating.
The acting spokesperson for the Zimbabwe Republic Police in Manicaland Province confirmed the incident to The Manica Post. He said:

Hungwe and Mapungwana were lovers involved in an extramarital relationship, and all hell broke loose when the former quizzed the latter for flirting with and allegedly dating another man.
He claimed that he saw a man only identified as Givie giving her a plate of sadza at her food vending stall.
On the fateful day, at around 7 pm, Hungwe proceeded to Mapungwana’s house. He quizzed and accused her of being promiscuous. An altercation ensued and the woman decided to terminate their relationship.
This did not go down well with Hungwe, who produced a knife and brutally stabbed Mapungwana on the head, breasts, hands, thighs and back.
Hungwe took Mapungwana’s cellphone and called her husband, telling him that she had been stabbed by a boyfriend she was fighting with. He vanished from the scene.

A 26-year-old married woman named Violet was stabbed by her boyfriend Gamuchirai for flirting with another man. Gamuchirai stabbed Violet multiple times because he was jealous. Violet is fighting for her life in the hospital. Gamuchirai even called Violet's husband to tell him what he did. The police confirmed the incident. Gamuchirai and Violet were having an affair. The police said that Gamuchirai got mad when he saw another man giving Violet food, so he went to her house and stabbed her. Now, Violet is hurt, and Gamuchirai ran away.

Jealous Boyfriend Stabs Married Lover For Cheating

A 40-year-old man from Sakubva in Mutare died after he fell off from the fourth floor of Matida Flats while wrestling with his lover’s estranged husband.
Tawanda Chirenje (25) allegedly caught the now-deceased Gift Saungweme in a compromising position with his wife, Phillipa Dariyani (25).
Saungweme and Dariyani were at a friend’s apartment.
ZRP spokesperson in Manicaland Province, Inspector Nobert Muzondo, said police have launched a manhunt for Chirenje. He said:

Chirenje had caught Dariyani drinking beer with Saungweme in a friend’s apartment. He assaulted her with the flat side of a machete, booted feet, and fists and proceeded to assault Saungweme.
They wrestled towards an open window and as they wrestled, Saungweme fell off the window from the fourth floor. He sustained head injuries and died on Monday morning.
We are treating the matter as a murder incident as the circumstances are all pointing that way.
As the police, we urge people not to take the law into their own hands and not to use violence when such matters arise.

Dariyami’s friend, Shallon Maisera, in whose apartment the two lovebirds were caught red-handed, told <a href="https://www.manicapost.co.zw/cheat-falls-from-4th-floor-window/">The Manica Post</a> that she had been drinking with Dariyami and Saungweme at the bar that night. She said:
<blockquote>
I offered them my apartment because her children were sleeping in her apartment, which is on the third floor.
The three of us had been drinking in my apartment when Saungweme sent me to buy more beer and it was already past midnight.
When I came back, I was shocked to find Chirenje inside my apartment with the lovebirds.
Dariyani was crying and begging Chirenje to forgive her. I knocked and Chirenje opened the door for me.
He told me that he had caught the two in bed and that he wanted to kill them. I tried to stop him but he pushed and locked me outside.
Shortly afterward, he came out and told me that Saungweme had jumped off the window. He then walked away after that.

Maisera said Dariyami was assaulted all over her body with the machete.
She said when they rushed downstairs, Saungweme who was still alive but badly injured asked for some water. Said Maisera:

I asked him if he had been pushed off the window or if he had jumped but he kept saying ‘pakaipa’ so we rushed him to the hospital where he died later on.

Man Falls From 4th Floor Fighting Off Lover's Husband

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) says it nullified the results of 4 961 candidates who sat for the 2022 Ordinary Level examinations for cheating.
In a statement released on Friday, 03 February, ZIMSEC board chairperson Eddie Mwenje said the figure represents 1.78% of the total candidate entry. He said:

Candidates who had pre-access to question papers at different examination centres were identified during the writing of the examinations and also at the marking of scripts and grade review stages.
The results of such candidates were nullified for the subjects in question in accordance with the ZIMSEC Act section 34.
Candidates, headmasters and members of the public who were caught posting question papers on WhatsApp and those buying them were arrested and appeared in court.
All other practices that contravened the ZIMSEC Act were brought to the attention of ZIMSEC by respective schools.
As a result of the combined investigation reports from schools, and the identification of culprits at the marking and grade reviews stages, a total of 4 961 candidates had results nullified.
This number is out of 278 760 who registered for the Ordinary Level examination. The number represents 1.78% of the total candidate entry.

The examinations were marred by several irregularities and some education stakeholders had called for the nullification of the examination.
Mwenje said the overall pass rate for the 2022 O’ Level examinations increased by 2.62% to 28.96% compared to 26.34% recorded in 2021. He said:

A total of 278 760 candidates sat for the November 2022 examinations as compared to 249 914 candidates who sat for the same examinations in 2021.
There was an increase in the candidature of 28 846, thus translating to an increase of 11.54%.
In 2022, a total of 183 584 wrote five or more subjects and 53 169 passed five or more subjects with a grade C or better giving an overall pass rate of 28.96% as compared to l63 179 candidates who wrote five or more subjects in 2021, with 42 985 passing five or more subjects with a Grade C or better yielding a pass rate of 26.34%. The statistics show that the 2022 pass rate increased by 2.62% from 2021.

ZIMSEC Nullifies Results Of 5 000 O' Level Candidates For Cheating

Five learners from Vhembe High School in Beitbridge have been found guilty of cheating in the November 2022 ZIMSEC Ordinary Level examinations.
The learners were slapped with suspended sentences varying from six months to a year.
The learners were identified as Immaculate Mapako (18), Eussein Makaranga (18), Tinotenda Mavusi (16), Paul Moto (16), and Patricia Dube (18).
Prosecutor Olivia Chamutinya said the learners accessed different leaked exam papers through social media.
She said the matter only came out after one of the students alerted the invigilator Lindani Sibanda who in turn informed the school head Petros Sibanda during an exam that she had seen the paper that she was writing.
Beitbridge Magistrate Variro Gabi sentenced Mapako to 12 months, suspended two months for Makaranga and Dube got eight months, while Mavusi and Moyo were sentenced to six months each. All the learners will do community service.
In passing the sentences, the magistrate considered the learners’ ages.

Community Service For Five Beitbridge O' Level Exams Cheats

The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_School_Examinations_Council" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC)</a> has ordered nine Ordinary Level <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Chiredzi" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Chiredzi</a> students accused of cheating to return their results slips after they were released by mistake.
ZIMSEC spokesperson Nicky Dhlamini said the exams body wrote to Chingele Secondary School head on December 12, 2019, informing him that the nine candidates’ results had been cancelled. Said Dhlamini:
<blockquote>Provisional results for candidates from Chingele were deployed to the school on February 12, 2020.
The nine candidates were given their results by an administrator who had not been informed of the situation.
As of now, the nine candidates have been asked to return their provisional slips as they await the confirmed result slips which show that their results have been cancelled.</blockquote>
Reports claim that four teachers at the school wrote examinations for their wives and girlfriends during last November’s Ordinary Level public examinations.
ZIMSEC recommended the suspension of the four teachers implicated in the exam fraud.

ZIMSEC Orders Nine Cheating O' Level Students To Return Results Slips

Sithulisiwe Ngwenya (30) a single mother of three was caught cheating in an exam on Monday. Ngwenya from Nketa 8 Suburb in Bulawayo, was writing the Zimsec Integrated Science O’Level Paper Three when she smuggled answers into the exam room. However, her luck ran out when she was caught red-handed copying the answers onto her answer sheet by invigilator, Ms Rutendo Chatambudza.
Ngwenya appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Mr Franklin Mkhwananzi facing a charge of gaining unlawful access to examination material. She was convicted on her own plea of guilty after admitting that she committed the crime out of desperation as she had been writing and failing repeatedly. She claimed that she had been given the answers by a man she met on the bus on her way to school.
She was sentenced to six months imprisonment. The sentence was wholly suspended on condition that she performs 210 hours of community service at Mandwandwe Secondary School.
