Dynamos made history on Sunday by becoming the first team to win the Chibuku Super Cup twice in a row, edging past Ngezi Platinum Stars in a tense penalty shootout at Rufaro Stadium.
The match ended 1-1 after 120 minutes and had to be decided by penalties. It was a repeat of last year’s final, where the Glamour Boys triumphed 2-0 at Baobab Stadium, and their second meeting in two weeks after Ngezi Platinum Stars won 2-0 in a rearranged Castle Lager Premier Soccer League fixture at Baobab.
Ngezi Platinum Stars took the lead in the 23rd minute through Obriel Chirinda and appeared to be in control for much of the match.
However, Dynamos equalised in the 78th minute when Ghanaian Frederick Ansah-Botchway netted to force the game into extra time.
After a goalless extra time, the match was decided by penalties. Dynamos showed remarkable composure, converting all four of their spot-kicks, with goalkeeper Martin Mapisa playing the hero by saving two penalties.
Frank Makarati, Temptation Chiwunga, Eli Ilunga, and Issah Sadiki all scored for Dynamos, while Mapisa stopped Moses Demera and Farai Madhanaga’s attempts, sealing the victory.
The win secured Dynamos their second consecutive Chibuku Super Cup and earned them a ticket to the CAF Confederation Cup for the second year in a row.

Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum Stars are set to face off in the Chibuku Super Cup final for the second consecutive year, with the winner earning a spot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
The highly anticipated match will take place this Saturday afternoon at Rufaro Stadium.

After three unsuccessful attempts to claim their second trophy in the past five years, Ngezi Platinum Stars will be hoping to finally secure the Chibuku Super Cup today.

Meanwhile, Dynamos secured their spot by defeating Manica Diamonds 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 stalemate at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
In Saturday’s match in Mhondoro, Ngezi took the lead in the 37th minute with a goal from Talent Chamboko.
However, Simba Bhora equalised in the 75th minute thanks to Tymon Machope’s close-range effort.
Machope then scored again six minutes later, putting Simba ahead, but Ngezi responded just two minutes after that with Farai Madanhanga’s goal, sending the match to penalties.
During the shootout, Kudzai Chigwida, Nigel Makumbe, Takunda Benhura, Never Tigere, and Madanhanga all successfully converted their kicks for Ngezi Platinum Stars.
For Simba, Walter Musona, Blessing Moyo, Gift Saunyama, and Onifade Abubakar scored, but Ishe Mauchi had his attempt saved, securing Ngezi’s place in the final.
On Sunday in Harare, Dynamos faced an uphill battle after conceding a goal to Bret Amidu just 19 minutes into the match.
However, they rallied in the dying moments, with substitute Emmanuel Paga scoring a crucial equaliser four minutes into stoppage time, again forcing penalties.
All four Dynamos penalty takers—captain Frank Makarati, Congolese forward Eli Ilunga, Arthur Musiyiwa, and Valentine Kadonzvo—successfully found the net.

Dynamos enters the Harare derby after suffering two consecutive league defeats against rival teams CAPS United and Chicken Inn.
The match was originally scheduled for last month but was postponed due to Dynamos’ commitments in the CAF Confederations Cup against Botswana’s Orapa United. Said Chigowe:

The winner of the match between Dynamos and Yadah will join Simba Bhora, Manica Diamonds, and Ngezi Platinum Stars in the semi-finals.
The champion of the Chibuku Super Cup will automatically qualify to represent Zimbabwe in the 2025-26 CAF Confederations Cup season.
Meanwhile, Yadah coach Thomas Ruzive on Tuesday said that the club will assess star player Khama Billiat, to see if he will be able to play against the Glamour Boys.
Billiat was in the Warriors squad that played back-to-back 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Namibia in South Africa.
He scored the winning goal in the first match, helping the Warriors secure a 1-0 victory.
However, he was unable to complete the return leg on Monday, which Zimbabwe won 3-1. Concerns arose about his condition after he took an awkward fall in the second half.
Billiat and the rest of the local contingent from the Warriors were expected to return home late yesterday afternoon.
Dynamos are also expected to welcome back vice-captain Emmanuel Jalai and goalkeeper Martin Mapisa, who have returned from national team duty.
Unlike Billiat, Jalai and Mapisa remained on the Warriors’ substitute bench and did not see any action in either match.

Mablanyo Braces For "Tricky" Tie Against Yadah

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has found Highlanders Football Club guilty of causing the abandonment of their Chibuku Super Cup quarter-final match against Simba Bhora on September 22 at Wadzanayi Stadium.
As a result, the PSL imposed a US$6,000 fine on Highlanders and awarded the match to Simba Bhora on a 3-0 scoreline.
The decision came after a review by a three-member disciplinary committee, which ruled that Highlanders violated Order 8.8 of the Chibuku Super Cup Rules and were responsible for the match abandonment.
The incident occurred in the 79th minute when the referee, Cecil Gwezera, and his assistant, Zondzi Ngosana, awarded a penalty to Simba Bhora following a clash between Highlanders’ Peter Muduhwa and Tinashe Balakasi.
However, video replays suggested that the incident took place outside the box.
Highlanders protested the penalty decision, leading to the eventual abandonment of the match. The ruling reads in part:

The accused, Highlanders FC, is hereby sentenced to pay a fine of US$6 000.00 (Six Thousand United States dollars).
Of this amount, $ 4,000 is suspended on condition that the club is not found guilty of any offence that brings the game of football into disrepute for the remainder of the season.
The effective fine of $2 000-00 together with the costs of the hearing, shall be paid within two weeks of receipt of this judgment.
The abandoned match be and is hereby awarded to Simba Bhora FC on a 3 nil scoreline.

Cecil Gwezera, the referee overseeing the Chibuku Super Cup quarter-final match between Simba Bhora and Highlanders at Wadzanai Stadium in Shamva on Sunday, has reportedly received a six-month suspension.
Zondzi Ngosana, one of Gwezera’s assistant referees for the match, has also been suspended for the same duration following the match’s abandonment just over 10 minutes before the final whistle.
The match ended prematurely when Highlanders players walked off in protest against Gwezera’s decision to award a penalty to Simba Bhora.
Highlanders argued that the incident leading to the penalty occurred outside the box, a claim corroborated by video evidence showing that the contact between Tinashe Balakasi and Peter Muduhwa took place well beyond the 18-yard line. 
The ZIFA Referees Committee suspended the two match officials for poorly handling, with Ngosana being found wanting on two aspects of officiating — “proximity to the incident and angle of viewing.”
ZIFA Referees Committee chairman Norman Matemera declined to comment on Gwezera’s suspension.
A retired referee, speaking on condition of anonymity, told <a href="https://www.herald.co.zw/red-card-for-simba-bhora-bosso-ref/">The Herald</a> that the match could have been salvaged if the match commissioner had discreetly reviewed video evidence of the incident and discussed it with the officials involved. Said the retired referee:

The match could have been saved with the referee correctly awarding that team a free-kick outside the box and sending off the Highlanders defender for denying an obvious scoring opportunity.
I am surprised that Gwezera did not exercise his authority by demanding that Ariel Sibanda go to the Bosso goal for the penalty to be taken.
If he was adamant that he would not take his position, Gwezera should have issued him a first yellow card, and after that a second that would have seen him leave the pitch.
He would have waited then to see the Highlanders’ reaction whether they would bring on another goalkeeper to replace Sibanda.
Perhaps he feared that he had already erred and hence could not take further action.

Meanwhile, Highlanders could face a ban from participating in next season’s Chibuku Super Cup. The rules and regulations state that “if a team refuses to continue playing or leaves the stadium or field of play before the end of the match, that team shall be banned from participating in the next edition of the Chibuku Super Cup.”

In the match, the referee awarded a penalty to Simba Bhora for a foul which occurred outside the penalty area. As the assistant, you should have been marking the penalty area line, which is parallel to the goal line.
That way, you would have been able to see that the ball was out of the penalty area. That decision impacted on the match. The match was abandoned.

Newly-crowned Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions Ngezi Platinum Stars take on Harare giants Dynamos in the Chibuku Super Cup final at Baobab Stadium this Sunday.
Ngezi will be targetting a league and cup double while for DeMbare, winning the trophy will show some progress after changing coaches midway through the 2023 season and finishing in third place on the log.
According to <a href="https://www.sundaymail.co.zw/dembare-seek-chibuku-redemption">The Sunday Mail</a>, Dynamos are yet to win the Chibuku Super Cup since the tournament’s inception in 2014.
This is their second appearance in the final after their 1-2 loss to Harare City at the National Sports Stadium in 2015.
Ngezi won the competition in their debut season in 2016 and were also losing finalists in 2019 and 2021.
The Glamour Boys have not won any silverware since the era of coach Kalisto Pasuwa, who left them in 2014.
Dynamos coach Genesis Mangombe said the club “really want to lift this trophy” after losing 2-1 to relegation-threatened Yadah on the final day of the league programme.
DeMbare fans were furious over the loss and are now demanding that Mangombe atone by winning the Chibuku Super Cup. Said Mangombe:

Dynamos have expressed unhappiness over the announcement by the Premier Soccer League that the Chibuku Super Cup final will be played at Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro, the home of their opponents Ngezi Platinum Stars.
DeMbare reached the Chibuku Super Cup final after beating cross-town rivals CAPS United 2-0 in the semi-finals on Sunday, while Madamburo sealed a final berth after walloping Black Rhinos 3-0 in the other semi-final played on Saturday.
In a letter to Dynamos, PSL spokesperson, Kudzai Bare said the final will be played at Baobab Stadium on 03 December 2023. She wrote:

Please be advised that following consultations with sponsors, the Chibuku Super Cup final shall be played at Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro-Ngezi on Sunday, 3 December 2023.

However, the Glamour Boys feel that playing the final at Ngezi Platinum Stars’s home turf is not fair as it gives their opponents a home advantage.
DeMbare wants the Chibuku Super Cup to be played at a neutral venue such as Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.
A Dynamos official, who chose not to be named, told <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/dembare-cry-foul/">H-Metro</a> that it would have been better if the venue for the final was announced before the tournament started. Said the official:

We are not happy at all that of all the available neutral venues, including Mandava and Barbourfields, the PSL has chosen that the final be played at the home of our opponents.
We feel this is very unfair because it sort of gives the other team an advantage.
Maybe, it would have been right for the venue of the final to have been named before the tournament started rather than now because this will be seen as trying to help our opponents.

Fixtures For 2023 PSL Chibuku Super Cup First-Round

Bulawayo Chiefs were on Sunday, 20 November, crowned the 2022 Chibuku Super Cup champions after beating Herentals 1-0 at Babourfields Stadium.
The only goal of the match was scored by Arthur Musiyiwa in the first half which Chiefs dominated.
Musiyiwa broke the deadlock in the 37th minute capitalising on poor communication of Herentals defenders and fired a shot a few metres from outside the penalty box.
Despite taking control of proceedings in the second half, Herentals failed to hit the net.
Herentals coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva expressed disappointment over the loss but believes the Students can take lessons from their experiences. He said:

We are disappointed with the loss, but we took some lessons from the match and hopefully will make it right in the next edition of the tournament. We have never been in this situation before.

Bulawayo Chiefs goalkeepers coach Nkosiyazi who stood in for coach Thulani Sibanda said the title win meant a lot to the team “especially considering the difficulties we faced.”

Innocent Benza, and his son Tinotenda, were in Herentals’s starting eleven.

Bulawayo Chiefs Crowned 2022 Chibuku Super Cup Champions

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has reduced gate charges for the Chibuku Super Cup final between Bulawayo Chiefs and Herentals at Barbourfields Stadium on 20 November.
Football fans will pay US$1 for a seat in the rest of the ground, US$2 for the VIP while the VVIP will be strictly for invited guests.
The PSL announced the gate charges on its social media pages on Monday.
Fans were being asked to pay a minimum of US$3 for league matches and the other stages of the Chibuku Super Cup from the first round to the semi-finals.
The sponsors have lined up some entertainment from popular dance ensemble Inkululeko Yabatsha School of Arts (Iyasa) and rhumba/tshibilika musician Clement Magwaza for the finals, reported <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/sport/article/200003199/us1-gate-charge-for-chibuku-super-cup-final">NewsDay</a>.
<h2>Journey to the final</h2>
On the way to the final, Bulawayo Chiefs defeated Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium before overcoming Black Rhinos in a penalty shoot-out in the semi-finals at Mandava Stadium.
Herentals beat Manica Diamonds in the quarter-finals at the National Sports Stadium and then triumphed over league champions FC Platinum in the semi-finals at Mandava, also in a penalty shootout.

PSL Reduces Gate Charges For Chibuku Super Cup Final

Bulawayo Chiefs have reached the finals of the Chibuku Super Cup after beating Black Rhinos 5-4 in a penalty shootout at Mandava Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The match went to a penalty shootout after ending 0-0 in regulation time.
Bulawayo Chiefs assistant coach Thulani Sibanda was excited by the win and told reporters that they will keep dreaming. He said:

It’s a big result for us and just being in the final is awesome. We are happy that we’ve got a chance to end the season with some silverware and we keep dreaming.

In the other semi-final match also played this Sunday, Herentals College beat FC Platinum 4-3 on penalties after the match had ended 1-1.

Bulawayo Chiefs, Herentals Reach Chibuku Super Cup Final

Reigning Premier Soccer League champions FC Platinum (FCP) are chasing after a league and cup double this season as they face Herentals in the Chibuku Super Cup semi-final on Sunday.
Pure Platinum Play have won the last three league titles and are top of the table having opened an 11-point gap from Dynamos who are in second place with only four games left.
FCP hosts Herentals at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane while in the other Chibuku Super Cup semi-final, Black Rhinos take on Bulawayo Chiefs.
The Norman Mapeza-coached side beat Herentals 1-0 in a PSL meeting last weekend and will be hoping to overcome the Students to book a spot in the final.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the semi-final match, Mapeza said he is anticipating tougher resistance from Herentals. He said:

Everyone is focused and ready for this match. Everyone knows we are going to play Herentals again this Sunday after our game last weekend.
This is a new ball game altogether. We have different objectives. It’s not going to be easy, but we are keeping the same mentality.
It’s a cup game, and everyone knows what they have to do, so the mentality must change. I like how we won last weekend, there was a mentality of not giving up.
We have to play like this, with a never give up mentality. We have to push because the game is 90 minutes.
There is no need to be cautious. We have to play at our best. It’s going to be an open game because everyone will aim to win. 
This is not a league game, where you might want to salvage a draw. Here we are playing to win. In the league, if you draw it’s okay and a win is a bonus, but this one we go full throttle to win. 
I don’t know if it’s going to be difficult because playing against the same team twice in succession is happening in the Champions League. 
It’s the situation we have at the moment, but at the end of the day, we have to play Herentals again on Sunday.

Herentals coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva pledged to attack from the onset. He said:

Dynamos Face FC Platinum In Chibuku Super Cup Quarterfinals

Dynamos and Highlanders are both through to the Chibuku Super Cup quarter-finals after winning their respective matches over the weekend.
The Glamour Boys overcame Whawha 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday through man-of-the-match Trevor Mavhunga’s solitary strike with 17 minutes still on the clock.
Dynamos coach Tonderai Ndiraya expressed satisfaction with the victory but not with the performance of his charges. He said:

I am happy that we have qualified for the next round of the competition, but I am not entirely happy about the way we performed today, especially in the first half.
I thought we should have killed the game in the opening half. We created so many chances but we could not convert them.
It got us so worried because we should have got the goals and wrapped the game in the first half but it wasn’t to be.
We then came back into the second half but if you don’t put the game to bed, you then start to be impatient and desperate.
But, I am happy that we kept our cool, kept on going and kept on creating chances. I would really have wanted us to score from those opportunities but we failed.
I am happy that in the end, it took the anticipation and brilliance of Trevor (Mavhunga) to score that goal that got us the win.
I am happy, that’s about cup games, sometimes you don’t need to play very well but you should win.

Bosso also booked a ticket into the Chibuku Super Cup last eight after beating Triangle United 1-0 at Gibbo Stadium on Sunday.

Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League (PSL) club, FC Platinum (FCP) have revealed a paradigm shift in their recruitment policy in a bid to finally make an impact in the CAF Champions League.
Club spokesperson Chido Chizondo said that they have moved away from spending big on experienced players and turned their focus on grooming young players. Said Chizondo:

A number of players have left the club in line with our new direction of ensuring we have an average age of players that can ensure sustainability going forward.
Our journey with the local league has been very successful. However, we are looking into Africa and beyond.
Our track record in Africa has not been the best and we realised that there were many things we needed to change as we transition into a global brand.
Ultimately, it’s the small things you do on a day-to-day basis that become your journey to achieving and reaching different goals.
This shift is not an ultimate solution, but among the many other things the club is doing to transform itself into a global brand.

She said the club expects some resistance as it implements the changes but believes the changes are necessary for the club to move forward.
Several senior players, among them Silas Songani, Stanley Ngala, Rahman Kutsanzira, Ralph Kawondera and Kelvin Madzongwe have already left the club.
Club captain and goalkeeper Petros Mhari is believed to be also on his way out.
FCP has dominated the local Premiership since winning their first title in 2017.

Speaking to The Sunday Mail, revealed that he started refreshing his squad with youthful players in 2019 when FC Platinum won their third straight league title. Said Mapeza:

Meanwhile, Ngezi Platinum Stars coach Rodwell Dhlakama will be guiding the club to the Chibuku Super Cup final for the second time in a row. He said:

FC Platinum, Ngezi In Chibuku Super Cup Final Showdown

Zvishavane-based FC Platinum emerged victors when they clashed with Harare giants, Dynamos in a Chibuku Super Cup match on Sunday at the National Sports Stadium to book a Chibuku Super Cup final place against Ngezi Platinum Stars at a date and venue yet to be announced.
Kugona Kunenge Kudada were the best side in the first 45 minutes but all their efforts to bury the match early went in vain as they could not get past the rock-solid Dynamos defense.
DeMbare, however, came back stronger in the second half but still, they too could not break the deadlock in a semi-final which had very few clear cut goal-scoring opportunities as both coaches exhibited some good tactical acumen.
The two sides could not be separated in regulation time and the game had to go to extra time.
And finally, the deadlock was broken with just a minute before the first half of the extra 30 minutes when former Caps United midfielder Innocent Mucheneka converted from a free-kick giving Dynamo’s goal minder Tymon Mvula no chance while sparking wild celebrations from their supporters.
The defeat was Dynamos’ first in this tournament and sadly at this stage, it marked the end of the road for the Glamour Boys who had been so dominant in this year’s edition of the Chibuku Super Cup after going for 12 games without tasting defeat.
FC Platinum will now face off with fellow platinum-backed cousins Ngezi Platinum Stars who edged new boys Craneborne Bullets 1-0 in the first semi-final played at the same venue (National Sports Stadium) on Saturday.
It will be the third time that these two sides will meet in this year’s tournament following their two previous meetings in the group stages at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane.

Local football fans have expressed anger after the Premier Soccer League (PSL) came up with exorbitant ticket prices for fans who want to watch the Chibuku Super Cup in stadiums.
The PSL announced on Wednesday that the VVIP ticket for the Chibuku Super Cup quarter-finals, set for this weekend at Baobab Stadium in Ngezi, will be US$50 while the cheapest tickets will go for US$20.
The PSL was granted permission to allow 2 000 fully vaccinated fans for the Chibuku Super Cup matches, but indications are that a maximum of 500 fans will be allowed entry into stadiums per game.
The spectators are expected to produce their national identity cards, and vaccination cards, at the point of ticket sales.
Dynamos Supporters Association (Harare chapter) spokesperson, Solomon Chingono, yesterday told The Herald the ticket pricing was a huge strain on their pockets. He said:

The pegged prices came as a shock to us as supporters, more importantly, coming from a difficult period like the COVID-19 lockdown, where most people have had to make ends meet, with the very little we earn.
The last time we went out to enjoy a football match we paid at most US$3-US$5 Rest of Ground.
We do understand how Covid-19 has affected most of the clubs but, as fans, we haven’t been spared either.
We feel the minimum charge is a tad unfair for the ordinary fan.

Zimbabwe National Soccer Supporters Association founding president, Eddie “Mboma’’ Nyatanga, urged the PSL to listen to fans. Said Nyatanga:

The PSL yesterday said no tickets will be sold at the stadium. Each club have been allocated 250 tickets to sell at their offices.

Football Fans Outraged Over US$50 Ticket Prices

Reigning Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions FC Platinum will sell match tickets for the Chibuku Super Cup quarter-final against Highlanders on Thursday and Friday.
In a statement, FC Platinum media liaison officer Chido Chizondo said the tickets will be sold from 1.00 pm Thursday 28 October to 12.00 pm Friday 29 October 2021 at Mandava Stadium.
She said only 200 tickets (Rest of Ground) and 50 (VIP) tickets will be sold to fans, who have to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated. Said Chizondo:

FC Platinum Announces Quarter-final Match Ticket Sales Procedure

Former Warriors assistant coach Lloyd Chitembwe, who is Harare City Football Club head coach, has showered his Dynamos counterpart Tonderai Ndiraya with praises for making DeMbare a force to be reckoned with on the local football landscape.
Under Ndiraya, the Glamour Boys are unbeaten in their Chibuku Super Cup campaign, winning six matches and drawing three.
Chitembwe and Ndiraya are close friends, having worked together in the previous Warriors set-up, where they were assistants to Zdravko Logarušić.

Harare City and Dynamos clash in a Group 1 Chibuku Super Cup at Baobab Stadium this Sunday, with the former in need of a positive result to qualify for the quarterfinals. Dynamos are already qualified.
Meanwhile, ZPC Kariba, who are fighting for the final quarterfinal slot with City, face Caps United, who are already out, at the National Sports Stadium tomorrow.
The two matches kick off simultaneously at 11 am.
With 13 points, two clear of ZPC Kariba, it is in Harare City’s hands as they just have to equal or better the result in Harare to go through to the last eight, where Cranborne Bullets lie in wait.

Chitembwe Showers Ndiraya With Praises

The Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) has given the green light for fully vaccinated fans to attend football matches in the ongoing Chibuku Super Cup tournament.
In a post on their Twitter page on Thursday morning, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) said SRC had approved a maximum of 2 000 fans per game. ZIFA tweeted:

The SRC has approved Zifa to allow 2 000 vaccinated fans for Chibuku Super Cup matches.
</blockquote>
This means fans will be able to watch the final Group 1 Chibuku Super Cup match between Yadah and Herentals at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Saturday morning.
Local football fans last watched football from the stands in the Castle Challenge Cup between Highlanders and FC Platinum at Barbourfields Stadium on 14 March 2020, about two weeks before the country entered the first of several COVID-19-induced lockdowns.
Football has been played in empty stadia since the sport was allowed to resume in dribs and drabs during the course of 2021.

SRC Approves Return Of Vaccinated Football Fans To Stadiums

Ngezi Platinum Stars coach <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Rodwell_Dhlakama">Rodwell Dhlakama</a> was left a disappointed man after losing 2-1 to FC Platinum in the Platinum derby played at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane on Saturday.
Following the defeat, Ngezi were dislodged from pole position on the Chibuku Super Cup Group Four log standings and also lost the bragging rights to rivals FC Platinum. Said Dhlakama:

It is difficult to accept a defeat, as I feel we could have won the game considering that we missed two clear cut chances in the early stages of the match.
We wanted to win, we wanted to finish strongly, we have to go back to the drawing board and re-strategise going into the quarter-finals.
</blockquote>
Meanwhile, FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza was on cloud nine following the victory over fellow platinum miners. He said:

We played well, and I am happy for the boys they played very well. Our focus is now on the quarter-finals and we are ready for either team that we will play in the knock-out stages.
</blockquote>
Two second-half goals by former Chicken Inn man Innocent Mucheneka and Rainsome Pavari ensured FCP a derby.
Bruno Mtigo had briefly brought Ngezi back into the game but that only lasted five minutes before FC Platinum regained the lead. 
Both teams are now tied on 13 points but FC Platinum lead the standings on superior goal difference.
They will, however, have to await the identity of their quarter-finals opponents as Group Two that features Highlanders and Chicken Inn is still to be decided.
