<p>Government has confirmed that the recent introduction of a new MInistry of Cybersecurity, Threat Detection &amp; Mitigation has little to do with other important cybersecurity issues beyond government’s interest in clamping down on “social media abuse”</p>
<p>George Charamba, the p<span>residential spokesperson,</span> confirmed in <a href="http://www.herald.co.zw/govt-explains-cyber-security-ministry-role/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">a report on the Herald</a> that the new ministry’s focus is meant to deal with social media abuse and fake news.</p>
