Self-exiled former ZANU PF Politburo member, Saviour Kasukuwere claims that a war veteran identified as Ephanos Madzimunyi, who allegedly invaded his ConCorpia Farm in Mazowe, Mashonaland Central Province, is armed to the teeth all the time, and a result, a Messenger of Court could not evict him.
Kasukuwere recently claimed that a “suspicious” bush fire destroyed citrus trees at the farm.
He also accused the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), of refusing to enforce an eviction order granted by the High Court to evict Madzimunyi from the party.
Speaking to <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200017431/ed-after-my-farm-kasukuwere">NewsDay</a> last week, ZRP spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said they were not aware of the alleged arson attack at ConCorpia Farm. He said:

I am not aware of what you are asking and what has been happening.
</blockquote>
However, Kasukuwere’s spokesperson Jaqueline Sande claimed that the fire was a result of the government’s failure to uphold the rule of law. She said, as quoted by NewsDay:
<blockquote>
The burning of that property is a result of the lawlessness and failure of Mnangagwa’s government to uphold the rule of law.
</blockquote>
Sande also said the fire destroyed electricity cables, electric polls and irrigation equipment. She added:
<blockquote>
This is a direct result of the failure by Mnangagwa’s government to uphold the rule of law and enforce the court order which ordered the unlawful occupant to vacate the premises.
When president Kasukuwere tried to enforce the court order through the Messenger of Court, the office did not get the support from the police that is required in order to evict this man, who is violent, and who has got weapons on him at all times.
As a result, he has continued to occupy that portion of the land to destroy and in the end that is how the fire erupted and caused damage to all the property on the premises.
The Bindura police refused to enforce this order, in spite of this order having been issued by the High Court. So if orders are to be ignored, it shows that there is impunity and there is lawlessness in the country.

Kasukuwere has been living in South Africa since the November 2017 military coup that toppled long-time ruler Robert Mugabe.
His attempt to run for the presidency in the 23 August 2023 elections was thwarted by the courts.

Kasukuwere Claims ConCorpia Farm "Invader" Carries Weapons "At All Times"

Saviour Kasukuwere’s former citrus farm in Mazowe is now desolate after it was allocated to Mazowe district war veterans’ chairman Ephanos Mudzimunyi.
Mudzimunyi took over Concorpia farm in 2020 after he was given an offer letter by the late Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, Climate and Rural Development Minister Perrance Shiri.
According to NewZimbabwe.com, the orange trees are wilting from thirst and are now barely visible, outgrown by tufted grass.
Mudzimunyi has reportedly failed to pay utilities, resulting in the Zimbabwe National Water Authority  (ZINWA) disconnecting water supplies to the farm.
The Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA), has also switched off power to the farm over the war veteran’s failure to pay bills.
Mudzimunyi told a NewZimbabwe.com crew that visited his farm that protracted court battles have impacted farming operations. He said:
<blockquote>
All this dilapidation is a result of the court battles, but we are thankful that the president intervened and soon we will be back on our feet.
</blockquote>
When Shiri allocated the Concorpia farm to Mudzimunyi in 2020, Kasukuwere approached the High Court for redress.
Despite the court ruling that Mudzimunyi had no legal right to the property, he remained on the farm in clear defiance of the order.
At that time Mudzimunyi grabbed the farm, the fruit had fully ripened and was ready for the market.
At its peak, the farm employed dozens of workers and exported oranges to various foreign markets.
Speaking to the publication from his South African base, Kasukuwere claimed he was a victim of political persecution. He said:
<blockquote>
There is a refusal by the Sheriff to respect the court decision. The man should have been evicted ages ago and there is no movement. Perhaps that’s how political persecution works.
Trees which we have planted and tended to are drying. The loss to the country due to the export receipts is huge.
We have been exporting to the Middle East and all that is now in tatters. At times you don’t understand how this government works. Individual differences should not be a government issue.
</blockquote>
Kasukuwere said that at the time of the farm’s occupation by Mudzimunyi, they were negotiating a US$5 million investment deal with a Dubai-based company.

Kasukuwere’s Orange Farm Desolate

Former Cabinet Minister Saviour Kasukuwere has approached the sheriff to help him evict Mazowe District War Vets leader Efanos Mudzimunyi who is occupying his farm and harvesting his oranges, The Anchor reports.
Kasukuwere won the case against Mudzimunyi when High Court Judge Justice Mushore restored Kasukuwere’s possession, use and occupation of Concorpia Farm in Mazowe.
However, the war vet in <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2020/05/17/mazowe-district-war-vets-leader-harvests-kasukuweres-oranges-despite-a-high-court-order-barring-him-from-doing-so-report/">clear defiance of the court order barring him from interfering with activities at the farm was harvesting</a> and selling the oranges at the farm prompting Kasukuwere to seek the Sheriff’s help to evict Mudzimunyi.
Kasukuwere’s lawyer Mhishi Nkomo Legal Practice has reportedly instructed the Sheriff to serve the order on the respondents:
<blockquote>Please explain to all the illegal occupants the net effect of the court order and direct them to leave. We look forward to receiving the return of service soon</blockquote>

Kasukuwere Approaches The Sheriff To Help Him Evict A War Vet Occupying His farm
