Pictures circulating on social media show the white Toyota Fortuner with significant damage to the front passenger side, indicating a collision with another vehicle.

In a recent interview with DJ Ollah on his podcast, Sandra, along with her sibling Selmor, shared these experiences growing up with their stepmother.

I remember an incident that happened when we lived in Kwekwe at a place called Glenwood. I was 16 turning 17 at that time.
I knew my mum (step mum Daisy) and dad were building in Norton although I didn’t know that there was a house being built during that entire time. Everyone else knew about the house but I didn’t because I wasn’t supposed to know.
So when the house was done, I remember they called people from church for a farewell. That’s when I found out that they would be moving but I was not told the date when this would happen.
Then a few days later I met people in town telling me that they had seen my father around. So I thought that when I arrived home, I would find my parents at home.
When I got the house was empty. I was so touched. People had gone to their new home and I was left with the garden boy in an empty home.

She also claimed that when she was young, she felt like she was treated worse than the family maid. Said Sandra:

I remember the day, we were told that we were going to a party. As children, we were excited at this but then the next day, we saw only Sam and Samantha preparing for the party.
I, on the other hand, was given a heap of laundry I needed to do. We had a maid but somehow I felt I was below the maid. Even in the house, Sam and Samantha had their rooms that were well prepared but I shared one with the maid.

It was really painful and this is not just about the bedroom. It felt that I wasn’t appreciated or loved like the other children.
Sandra said that since their father was often on tour, it was hard for him to see the mistreatment they experienced. She felt that sometimes he appeared to be overwhelmed by Daisy.

Initially not included in the lineup, Selmor was added after a public outcry. However, she left the stage in tears after performing just one song.

She said their late father, Tuku, had high hopes for the family and wanted them to collaborate on a song before he died. Said Selmor:

It was a private college where I was learning with kids from rich backgrounds.
Things normalised after Dad contacted the principal to inform him about everything which was needed in school.

I stayed with Dad for a long time while she was with my stepmother after I finished school. I can’t lie, it was a difficult situation. A lot would happen.
I would always see that there was favouritism for children. I remember this incident in Glenwood, Kwekwe, I was 16, and dad and his new wife were building a house in Norton, the green house.
I was not informed about the house, even though other children knew. After the house was done, Dad came to bid us farewell. I didn’t know the date they were moving out.

In an interview with <a href="https://www.herald.co.zw/mtukudzis-widow-opens-up-on-selmor-drama/">The Herald</a> on Sunday night, following Selmor’s abrupt departure from the stage during her first song at the inaugural Oliver Mtukudzi International Festival of the Arts (OMIFA) at Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton, Daisy said that “the drama” was beyond her control.
Selmor ended her performance almost immediately, despite being allocated a two-hour prime slot, while other performers had just under an hour.
Sandra Mtukudzi, Tuku’s eldest child and Selmor’s mother’s firstborn, was flown in from the United Kingdom by Daisy to attend the festival but was unable to persuade Selmor to complete her act. Selmor’s husband, Tendai Manatsa, also failed to convince her to continue.
Daisy said that while the world witnessed Selmor’s “drama”, she felt unfairly judged on social media. She said:

At least the world has witnessed all the drama. I know people will still attack me, but what have I done to deserve this embarrassment?

Daisy Mtukudzi, the widow to the late musician and national hero Oliver Mtukudzi has claimed that some family members rejoiced following the deaths of Tuku and his son Sam.
Mtukudzi died of heart failure related to diabetes in January 2019 while his son Sam and his sound engineer, Owen Chimhare, died in a car crash along the Harare-Bulawayo highway in 2010.
Speaking in an interview on Star FM, Daisy claimed that some of the Mtukudzi family members did not grieve Tuku and Sam’s death. She said:

I thought when you are family you are united, but I realised that some family members were happy with the death of my child (Sam).
Even after the death of my husband, some were not hurt at all but happy.
When someone dies they need to rest in peace and people should not talk about them in bad taste, but people love people’s belongings more than the person.
Sam’s death is still painful to me. He was a young man, who had managed to work hard for his name.
At the age of 21, he already had a house. I was firm on him and he had to learn the hard way, that’s why many hate me for it.

Daisy said many people thought that Mtukudzi’s estate was going to crumble in her hands but she said she has managed to keep everything in order. She said:

Many have said Pakare Paye will crumble and his (Tuku) legacy will fade, but I have been trying to keep it safe and it’s still going on. They have said it won’t take a year, but it’s now three years.
People have said that I have been selling Tuku’s cars, but I have all the cars.
Even his friends have visited and taken pictures at the house with the cars.
I am currently using Tuku’s car, which is privately marked Tuku and I won’t even change the plates.

She said that she loves Mtukudzi’s children with his first wife, and added that Pakare Paye studios were open for everyone, including Selmor.
Mtukudzi’s widow is the sole beneficiary of the legendary musician’s estate after a law firm filed a one-page will indicating that Daisy Kudzai Mtukudzi will inherit all movable and immovable property.
The musician’s children – Samantha, Sandra, Selmor and Sybil – and other family members were left out.
Movable properties include a Land Rover Discovery, Nissan NP200, Tata bus, Tata truck and a Challenger trailer.
Mtukudzi also left an undisclosed amount of cash in his FBC Bank (Belgravia) account.

Legendary Musician, the late Oliver Mtukudzi’s widow opened up about life after Tuku 8 months after her husband’s death. Daisy responded to questions sent to her by the Sunday Mail and said life after the iconic musician’s death was hard because they were always together. She also hinted that they may release some of the songs Tuku was working on before his death.
Responding to The Sunday Mail Daisy said;
<blockquote>To be honest, it has been very difficult for me because Tuku and I were always together. In as much as we know he is no more, to me he is still there, that is why I’m doing his birthday. I’m doing this as I have always done it for him every September.
Yes, Tuku had an album. We have it and have plans for it in the near future. It is not one album — there is plenty of material, though we do not want to make it an issue for the public for now</blockquote>
Daisy also spoke about Pakare Paye Studios and said she will stick to Tuku’s dream.
<blockquote>The plans had already been set by Tuku and the plan is to continue with the same wish and vision. The Pakare Paye Ensemble still exists, bands come to rehearse at the studio as they always did when Nzou (Tuku) was there</blockquote>
This coming Friday at Glamis Arean a Tuku memorial concert will be held. Tuku’s daughter Selmor, Macheso, Winky D and Jah Prayzah are the local artists expected to perform while MICASA and James Sakala from Zambia will be the international stars to grace the event.

Tuku's Widow Opens Up About Life After Tuku

Daisy Mtukudzi and another family member, Vennah Muchakagara have been appointed by the Master of High Court as joint executors to the estate of the late music icon Dr Oliver Mtukudzi.
The duo was appointed following a decree meeting attended by at least 15 family members during which it was unanimously agreed that the pair be executors. The late musician’s widow, daughters, sisters, and other relatives also attended the meeting.
The Will left behind by Dr Mtukudzi gave Daisy all movable and immovable property. It also appointed Chibune &amp; Associates as executor, but the parties settled for the two family members considering that the law firm in question was now non-functioning.

TUKU's Estate: High Court Appoints 2 Executors

There are various theories as to why the legendary Zimbabwean musician Oliver Mtukudzi chose to give all his possessions to his wife Daisy and nothing to his four children Samantha, Selmor, Sandra, and Sybil.
Mtukudzi’s long-time publicist and veteran journalist, Shepherd Mutamba claimed last week that the decision was motivated by Tuku’s hatred of his daughters. He said:
<blockquote>He had so much hatred for his daughters that it would bring even Satan to tears. But if his son Sam was alive I bet he would have helped ease the tension. That boy was ahead of his time.</blockquote>
Meanwhile, an extract from Mutukudzi’s interview with Mai Chisamba six years ago proposes a diverging theory. During the interview, Mutukudzi said he believed children should work for themselves. He said:
<blockquote>Children should work for their own money and not expect handouts from their parents. A child should be empowered so that they are successful in life. A child that is given money or a car by their parent . . . you’ll have destroyed their future. They won’t know how difficult it is to save and buy a car.
So when you die, who do you think will keep on dishing out things like that to your child? No one. . . A child should be taught how to get these things on their own.</blockquote>
<div class="code-block code-block-6">It could be true that he wanted to avoid spoiling them, but, it remains important to consider that Tuku’s relationship with his daughters was sour. The media is awash with cases where Tuku clashed with Selmor. She is reported to have lamented at severally over her father’s absence in her life whilst he was assisting other upcoming artists.</div>

Why Tuku Didn't Leave His Wealth To His Children

Following the recent revelation that the late Zimbabwean icon Oliver Mtukudzi left his entire fortune in the hands of wife, Daisy, legal experts have opined that fighting the will would be a wild goose chase.
It is believed that Tku left nothing for his children who could have expected something from him. The recently revealed Will reads:
<blockquote>I hereby bequeath all my properties, share and shares in any company or companies or entities to my wife, Daisy Kudzai Mtukudzi born on the second of February 1959.</blockquote>

<div>One legal expert who spoke to NewsDay Life &amp; Style said:</div>

<blockquote>All adult children, even minors, can be part of the beneficiaries, but there is no provision in the law that they should benefit. But the advantage of minor children is that they can have recourse to the law if the deceased had the legal duty to provide for them.
Selmor and others are self-supporting adults so the chances of successfully challenging the will are very remote, unless if there are allegations of some form of interference (in the drafting of the will), but they need to prove that.</blockquote>
The legal practitioner said that Tuku had a right to draft the will the way he liked although the will can be challenged.
There are some who believe that the will must have been drafted when Tuku was not in good books with Selmor and her mother.

Challenging Tuku's Will A Wild Goose Chase - Legal Experts

The late national hero Oliver Mtukudzi’s Will and Testament was filed with the Master of High Court by a Harare law firm, four months after his death.
The one page Will shows that “Tuku” left all movable and immovable property to surviving spouse Daisy Kudzai Mtukudzi.
He left out all his children and family members. The Will was filed on April 15 by Thoughts Deme Attorneys at Law. The Will and Testament read in part:
<blockquote>I, Oliver Mtukudzi, born 22 September 1952, presently domiciled in Zimbabwe, hereby cancel and annul all former wills and cordials and declare this to be my last will and testament.
… I hereby bequeath all my properties, share and shares in any company or companies or entities to my wife, Daisy Kudzai Mtukudzi born on the second of February 1959.</blockquote>
Since Mutukudzi’s death, daggers have been drawn among family members forcefully competing for his property. Apparently, the family members were unaware of the existence of a will.

Mtukudzi Left Entire Estate To Wife Daisy, Nothing For Children

Daisy Mtukudzi, the widow of the late Oliver Mtukudzi has reportedly dissociated her family from any events being held with the Mtukudzi name attached. This has come after Oliver Mtukudzi’s daughter from his first marriage, Selmor Mtukudzi, initiated music events branded “KwaTuku”.
A message apparently from Daisy Mtukudzi circulating on social media says:
<blockquote>“We would like to distance ourselves from any events or gatherings that are being held for Mtukudzi as a family as we are still grieving. It is not going well with our family to realise that there are various individuals out there who are now cashing in because of our loss. We officially announce that there is no event or initiative that is being blessed or initiated by the family as of now.”</blockquote>
A Sunday Mail writer comments that strangely Pakare Paye Arts Centre, the home of Oliver Mtukudzi’s music business run by one of Daisy’s daughters, has hosted music events where artists like Jah Prayzah, Thomas Mapfumo and Mbeu have performed.
Selmor has said she will continue with the events.

Daisy Mtukudzi Dissociates Family From Selmor's KwaTuku Gigs

In an interview with The Chronicle, Oliver Mtukudzi’s former manager Nicodemus Manyame talked about how Tuku met Daisy and how the late musician composed his songs.
He said Daisy was working in a shop when she met Tuku. Manyame said Mtukudzi wrote the song “Svovi yangu” which he dedicated to Daisy within a week. Said Manyame:
<blockquote>Daisy Mushonga went to Globe and Phoenix Secondary School in Kwekwe. She was working in a shop at Old Mbizo Shopping Centre when she met Tuku. I remember when Tuku wrote the song “Svovi yangu” for Daisy, she would visit us while we were working on the song but she never knew about it. We kept it a secret until it was released. This was when I witnessed his composing prowess because it did not take a week to be written but it went on to be a hit. He went on to record many songs based on reality like “Ndafunga Dande” which he wrote after spending almost two months on a European tour.</blockquote>

Mtukudzi's Former Manager Narrates How Late Musician Met Wife Daisy, Composed Svovi Yangu

Music critics have urged Daisy Mtukudzi, wife to veteran singer Oliver Mtukudzi, so spend more time practising and grooming her voice before she takes to stage again. This follows her distinctly off-key performance at the just ended Harare International Festival of Arts (Hifa). Daisy joined her husband on stage for the song “Haasi Masanga”, the couple’s first collaboration since they got married.
Music critic Reward Muchini said:
<blockquote>Studio is different from stage because in the studio the voice can be tuned to make it sound better but on stage you will be using your raw voice. He should groom her first before any other moves.</blockquote>
Another critic David Mudzada said:
<blockquote>It is good to have her on stage since they have a song together but she needs serious grooming otherwise they might be going in the wrong direction,</blockquote>
