<p>United Democratic Alliance (UDA) president Daniel Shumba said the establishment of an inter-ministerial team by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to take over and speed up service delivery in all opposition-run councils will not yield positive results.</p>
<p>Mnangagwa told state media over the weekend that his government had instituted an inter-ministerial task force headed by Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga to deal with service delivery in local authorities under the MDC Alliance’s control.</p>
<p>He accused the opposition councillors of failing to fulfil their mandate and engaging in egregious corruption.</p>
<p>But Shumba argued that dishonesty, propaganda and gangster tactics are part of Zanu PF’s DNA and the ruling party is focused on state capture in order to subjugate citizens. <a href="https://twitter.com/shumba327/status/1384372109963583490" rel="noopener" target="_blank"><strong>Said Shumba:</strong></a></p>
<blockquote><p>The limitless obsession for dictatorial rule knows no bounds. Proper corporate governance systems would easily achieve the desired Councils outcomes.</p>

<p>Indeed rampant corruption and mismanagement of Councils are evident, but the master of these evils is the Zanu PF regime (Pot accusing Kettle of being black).</p>
<p>Before the Hyena eats its children, it first accuses them of smelling like goats. Such is a sign of failed leadership.</p>
<p>The Zanu PF regime rates among the most corrupt and entitled regimes in the world. They are clueless, impetuous and impervious to reason.</p>
<p>Despite their delinquencies, they will use brute force and crude tactics to achieve their convoluted goals. We’re gone to the Dogs.</p>
<p>The regime can’t fix what they don’t understand. You need knowledge, corporate governance and value systems, trained human resources and budgetary support.</p>

UDA President Speaks On Take Over Of MDC-run Councils By Chiwenga Team

<p>The ruling party Zanu PF has denied claims by <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/03/29/zanu-pf-is-printing-fake-party-cards-and-regalia-to-support-false-defection-claims-mdc-alliance/">the MDC Alliance that the new-minted cards</a> they are parading at their events from alleged MDC Alliance members defecting to Zanu PF are indeed fake, The Herald reports.</p>
<p>The response was given by the Zanu PF spokesperson Simon Khaya Moyo who called the claims by MDC Alliance firebrand politician Fadzayi Mahere “laughable desperate self-serving and self consoling statements”. Said Moyo in his strong-worded response to the claims they printed MDC Alliances cards:</p>

<p>The United Democratic Alliance President (UDP) Dr Daniel Shumba has urged people to reject the delimitation exercise currently underway as he says it is being used to rig the 2023 elections.</p>
<p>The former Zanu Pf politburo member said the defections that are being recorded right now will be used to explain  the 2 million ghost voters Zanu PF is planning to use to rig the next elections.</p>

<p>Doesn’t matter about your egos, here are some naked truths:- You have No Good Will among citizens. It’s clear to all that yours is a clueless adventure driven by a serious entitlement. You’re so brazen and hurt the nation at will. You and cronies are victimizing the nation.</p>

<p>It is the entitlement, greed and obsession for power that is at the centre of our national crisis. State institutions have been and continue to be captured in furtherance of this agenda. Corruption and the endless craving for opulence as turned you into shameless thugs.</p>
<p>You perpetuated a Coup under the guise of getting rid of criminals. Sorry to put it you that you’re far worse criminals. You’ve taken brutality to another level indeed. You’re heartless and evil (believe me I’m being polite). You negate constitutionalism and the rule of law.</p>
<p>You’ve captured the judiciary and weaponized it to punish and kill your opponents. Prisons are death traps, added to the many human rights violations under your watch. You and yo cronies/families expropriate citizens’ assets, businesses and undertake a litany of illegalities.</p>
<p>While you’re undertaking the race for self-enrichment, abducting people, demolishing houses, watching the collapse of the health and education sectors, destroying the economy, stealing gold and diamonds, alas we’re faced by the Covid19 virus to which you’ve no plan.</p>
<p>Your MCAZ is being too prescriptive and slow at registering products already in use in countries with zero Covid19 viruses. People are dying and yet you remain clueless and clumsy about how to intervene. You would rather die than return the stolen loot to save lives.</p>

<p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-1qd0xha r-ad9z0x r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Opposition leader, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Daniel_Shumba">Daniel Shumba</a> who is also a businessman and former member of the ruling ZANU PF has claimed that Local Government Minister, Hon July Moyo instructed the army and ZANU PF youths to invade and loot his farm.<br/>

<p>Shumba formed his second opposition political party named the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/United_Democratic_Alliance" title="United Democratic Alliance">United Democratic Alliance</a> (UDA) in February 2018. His first, the United People’s Party (UPP) was formed in 2006 following his dismissal from Zanu PF over his involvement in the Tsholotsho debacle that allegedly sought to elevate Mnangagwa ahead of former Vice-President Joice Mujuru, who was Mugabe’s preferred choice. Shumba posted on Twitter and said:</p>

<p>These remarks are made merely days after a number of former ZANU PF members including the nephew of former president Mugabe, Patrick Zhuwao and former Higher and Tertiary Education Minister, Professor Jonathan Moyo also indicated that their farms were being taken by the State.</p>
<p>Some observers expressed concern over the developments arguing that they emanate from the chaotic way through which the land reform programme was implemented.</p>

<p>No one is above the law, yet Gono presided and actively participated in the operation of the Recon Act (Expropriation) and more. The country fed from Gono’s hands (Army, Police, including many quasi-fiscal activities). This opened the floodgates of the mess we are in today.</p>
<p>To fix the economy we must reset all national drivers. Constitutionalism, rule of law, uncapture the Judiciary, repeal of all unconstitutional laws and statutes, human rights, and corruption. No to indiscretions. No to the printing of money.</p>

<blockquote><p>My commitment is signposted by realities. Born of a founder member of the liberation struggle leading to my esteemed experiences in the defence forces, unlocked value as a businessman. I, therefore, have knowledge of the system, benevolence, and the entitlement culture.</p>
<p>Indeed, sacrifices, selfishness epitomised the individual and common beliefs of the struggle. With it came to power, corruption and opulence. 40 years the fee note has yet to be paid in full. The feeling of entitlement abounds. This marks the travesty of our political system.</p>
<p>To ensure power and the right to rule, threats of the return to war have been repeatedly peddled especially in rural communities. Distorted structures of War Vets and War Collaborators have been continually manipulated and recreated for purposes of mobilising the masses.</p>
<p>These echelons are managed and coordinated at the highest levels of Zanu PF/Intelligence Agencies, using nationwide JOC structures. The reservoirs are drawn mainly from serving and retired security members whose clients are mainly unemployed youths, thugs, and criminals.</p>
<p>Serious intelligence and propaganda machinery are at work continuously. Family, workers, spouses, girl/boyfriends (including the church, club, political party members and vendors) are some of the tools. There isn’t any exception to the rule. These are sustained off balance sheet.</p>
<p>Internally, the system is willing to fight to the end to protect and preserve its corrupt grip on power so as to guarantee its future. Many are in this train for protection or for fear of persecution, others drive the agenda and are co-conspirators in the State capture.</p>
<p>Zanu PF regime will not reform itself out of power, even its factions consolidate and attempt to own the Executive, Political, Military, Judiciary, and Economic power. Ambition is considered treacherous thus done in clandestine (mostly along tribal lines). This disgusted me.</p>
<p>I put it to you my fellow citizens, that we are far worse than we ever were as a nation. Our property is expropriated, we are killed, abducted, beaten, brutalized and lately poisoned for exercising our democratic and constitutional rights. Enough is Enough!</p>
<p>Fear is very dangerous. I will fulfil my mandate for Zimbabwe, I know that together we will prevail. Current attempts to abduct or assassinate me in a known SADC country will not work. I’ve divine protection and of course, I’ve taken other measures. Zimbabwe will be Free!</p>
<p>I have had exposure and knowledge of the workings of the system. Even though I haven’t been in the Zanu PF government, I was MP, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zanu-PF_Politiburo" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Politburo</a> member for three years, Provincial chairman for two years, and Military officer in the Special Forces. I’m a renowned businessman.</p>

<p>Opposition political parties have castigated President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s “blasphemous” remarks when he seemed to equate his administration with God.</p>
<p>In the same analogy, Mnangagwa likened opposition elements to Satan.</p>
<p>MDC president Nelson Chamisa’s spokesperson, Nkululeko Sibanda had this say:</p>
<blockquote><p>President Chamisa is a prayerful and God-fearing leader whose interests are to rebuild this country’s economy and society. He does not equate earthly fiefdoms with the Kingdom of God. He is encouraged that Zimbabwe is largely a God-fearing country and will remain so.</p>
<p>Those who see themselves as analogous or similar to God will answer to God. The people’s president does not engage in unnecessary public insults, he remains focused in talking about the issues that affect our country, such as dialogue and all other action that can unlock political illegitimacy and drive us towards economic stabilisation and growth.</p></blockquote>
<p>President of the United Democratic Alliance, Daniel Shumba, whose party withdrew from the Mnangagwa brokered dialogue, said:</p>

Opposition Parties Condemn Mnangagwa Over 'Satan' Remark

<p>The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has formally withdrawn from the so called National Dialogue process. It’s insincere, choreographed, and highly compromised process, with some political principals singing for their supper.</p>
<p>We disagree with the process, purpose, issues and level of engagement. Clearly, no outcomes can be expected from this facade. The process starts with a predetermined agenda even before agreeing on the moderator, issues, or milestones. Its inconsequential and of no effect.</p>
<p>The President didn’t even attend nor extend an apology. Was presided on by a Nhare, who is clearly out of his depth, and following a Zanu PF script. They refuse to broaden the participation to include other stakeholders. Zimbabwe is broader than just political parties.</p>
<p>The Constitution of Zimbabwe doesn’t provide for such a process. The absence of a willingness to legitimize the Nation Dialogue renders it an adventure or circus. The UDA refuses to be blindfolded or used as an extension of Zanu PF. The Nation shouldn’t expect any outcomes.</p>
<p>After the introductory remarks by political principals, the President ought to have responded to the litany of issues raised. The President is in deliberate and willful violation of the Constitution. The Mwenezi threats reveal the disregard and disrespect of this process.</p>
<p>The National Dialogue fallacy is meant to clothe the fox in sheep’s clothes. The UDA won’t sanitize a conspiracy or be part of a betrayal of the people’s expectations. We’re not opportunists and won’t be part of a process that fortifies delinquencies at the people’s expense.</p>
<p>The UDA will be joining a Constitutional Application confirming the President’s deliberate and wilful negation of duty in terms of section 167(2)(d) of the Constitution. It’s time for constitutionalism and the rule of law. Standing with the people. ‘For such a time as this’.</p>

<p>President of the Democratic Alliance, Daniel Shumba said that the threat to go after doctors and lawyers issued by President Emmerson Mnangagwa over the weekend is an insult to the anticipated dialogue. <a href="https://twitter.com/shumba327/status/1097461624519172096" rel="noopener" target="_blank"><strong>Said</strong></a> Shumba:</p>
<blockquote><p>This a serious indictment on the President and an insult to the anticipated National Dialogue. You can not allow a President to threaten a nation with brutality. <blockquote><p>Prescription of qualifications for MP’s and President would prevent downscaling the role of Parliament. It’s important in upping the quality of debates, conduct, and broader appreciation of issues of governance. But is it not discriminatory and unconstitutional?</p>
<p>The Zimbabwe electoral system of First Past the Post contradicts this the tenets of this noble desire. The contest is about popularity with no semblance of the values or task at hand. The roles of the elected members are much more complex for not so equipped or experienced.</p>
<p>To cure this misnomer without infringement on the rights of voters or being discriminatory, i propose we introduce the Proportional Representation electoral system with Party lists. Political parties would use internal mechanisms to ensure qualified candidates on their lists.</p>
<p>The Party lists though the Proportional Representation system is already commonly used worldwide including South Africa, the EU Parliament, and elsewhere. Voters vote for the Party only with parties contributing candidates from their lists according to the percentage of the vote.</p>
<p>That will be for each Party to undertake. It maybe interviews of applicants at the local level or remove of Parliamentary constituencies, Local government Councils would operate at the local level. Devolution would be achieved too.</p></blockquote>

President & MPs Should Have Minimum Qualifications - Daniel Shumba

<p>Daniel Shumba, one of the presidential candidates invited to the State House meeting by President Mnangagwa said the meeting meant to discuss a framework for dialogue and interaction was a disappointingly unstructured discussion.</p>
<p>Shumba who is the leader of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) said the meeting was made of Mnangagwa’s cheerleaders. He said only him, Nkosana Moyo and Noah Manyika raised relevant issues. Speaking on Twitter, Shumba said he has no confidence in the process. Said Shumba:</p>
<blockquote><p>A disappointingly unstructured discussion. No agenda nor outline of the meeting. Moderator was out of his depth. Never seen so many cheerleaders. N. Moyo, N. Manyika, and myself spoke to the issues well. I have no confidence in the process.</p>
<p>A porous process without an underwriter or milestones can not form the basis of a serious National Dialogue. I witnessed amazing and preposterous proposals from some seemingly compromised principals. Am curious to see the draft framework agreement.</p>
<p>I put across very pointed issues of constitutionalism and the rule of law and was candid regarding the repeal of unconstitutional statutes in particular the Reconstruction Act. Rape, imprisonment, and the various violations of human rights were some of the issues I raised.</p></blockquote>

A Disappointingly Unstructured Discussion: Daniel Shumba Gives Feedback On Mnangagwa Meeting

<p>Former Zanu-PF politburo member and leader of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Daniel Shumba has claimed that he escaped possible death in November when he was tipped off that the military was going to raid his house. Shumba claimed that during the military intervention, which resulted in the fall of former president Robert Mugabe in November, the military raided his home and stole and his money as well as expensive clothes, even including underwear in the process. Addressing members of the UDA in Masvingo on Tuesday, Shumba said,</p>
<blockquote><p>I should have been shot or killed during the events of last year, if it wasn’t a call from my uncle notifying me of the raid. I had just arrived from a business trip abroad and had to leave my house in a huff and when I returned two days later, I found my house ransacked with my US dollars missing and even my underpants…The junta has long been running this country’s economy. I was the chairman of the parliamentary portfolio on mines and I have proof that the army played a major role in the demise of our economy through corrupt deals with foreign investors.</p></blockquote>

Presidential Candidate Claims Military Was Going To Shoot Him In November

<p>Former Zanu-PF politburo member and leader of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Daniel Shumba has claimed that he was expelled from Parliament by Zanu-PF because he would have exposed President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his allies for plundering resources.</p>
<p>Speaking to NewsDay, Shumba said,</p>
<blockquote><p>I was neither G40 nor Lacoste in Zanu PF and they used those allegations to remove me from Parliament so that they dismember me because I refused to plunder and steal with them and, therefore, did not fit into their agenda…I was fired because as chairperson of the Parliamentary Mines and Energy Committee, I raised issues about SMM, externalisation of gold and diamond revenue, and those were uncomfortable truths to the extent that I was exposing the whole coup operators and Mnangagwa whom you call President, but he is a coup conspirator whom I would not recommend as President for the people of Zimbabwe.</p></blockquote>

I Was Removed From Parliament Because I Was Exposing Mnangagwa And His Allies: Daniel Shumba

<p>The leader of the opposition United Democracy Alliance (UDA) Daniel Shumba has declared that his party will give out grants to all unemployed Zimbabweans when they come into power. Speaking at the launch of his new party President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s former ally said,</p>
<blockquote><p><em>We are the only party in the country that wants to uplift the lives of suffering citizens. We are going to be introducing something that Zanu PF has never thought about and, if they are here, they are hearing it for the first time.</em></p>
<p><em>We are going to introduce what we call the Basic Income Grant so that each and every child who is 18 years and above will be entitled to receiving equal the amount of poverty datum line.</em></p>
<p><em>And this is a serious matter, it’s not like bullet trains. We are going to use our mineral levies to contribute to the Basic Income Grant that will go towards our citizens.</em></p></blockquote>

All Unemployed People Will Receive Benefits Equal To Poverty Datum Line From My Gvt: Shumba

<p>Former Zanu-PF politburo member Daniel Shumba told Daily News he will launch his opposition party the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) next week in Chitungwiza.</p>
<p>Shumba <span>was among some Zanu PF provincial chairpersons who met in Tsholotsho in a bid to block the elevation of Joice Mujuru to vice president in 2004 in favour of Mnangagwa. </span>Said Shumba:</p>
<blockquote><p><span>We are launching on Saturday, next week, in Chitungwiza, the party is going to contest for all the seats. We are popular in rural areas. Zanu PF is behind, just as is the MDC.</span></p></blockquote>
<p><span>This is second time that Shumba is forming a political party after his United People’s Party (UPP) in 2006 which was then linked to President Emmerson Mnangagwa who denied any links to the party. Shumba is not happy with Mnangagwa’s government policies as well as the perceived persecution of people who were once associated with Robert Mugabe.</span></p>

Former Mnangagwa Ally To Launch Opposition Party

<p>Zanu-PF Masvingo provincial chairperson Ezra Chadzamira told The Herald that his province is set to recall four legislators believed to be part of the G40 faction within the ruling party.</p>
<p>The recall will affect Walter Mzembi who was also Masvingo South legislator together with ex-Masvingo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Dr Paul Chimedza (Gutu South), former provincial political commissar Jappy Jaboon (Bikita South) and ex-deputy secretary for transport in the Politburo Dr Daniel Shumba (Masvingo Urban).</p>

Masvingo MPs To Be Recalled From Parliament

<p>The Zanu-PF Masvingo provincial co-ordinating committee (PCC) has supported the decision by Mashonaland Central in calling for the removal of National Political Commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere from his post. The under-fire Kasukuwere is being accused of plotting to topple President Robert Mugabe and corruption among other charges.</p>
<p>Zanu-PF Masvingo also suspended political commissar Jappy Jaboon, for creating parallel structures in the province, among other charges. It also recommended the demotion of Masvingo Urban legislator and Deputy Secretary for Transport and Welfare in the Politburo Daniel Shumba from his post for fanning divisions in the part.</p>
<p>Zanu-PF Masvingo provincial secretary for administration Cde Ailess Baloyi said:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>We did not resolve to have him (Kasukuwere) necessarily expelled from the party, but we no longer want him to continue in as the Zanu-PF Political Commissar. It’s up to the national leadership to see what they can do with him, whether to redeploy him or what, but we no longer want him to continue as political commissar.</em></p></blockquote>
