<p>NetOne does not have Off Peak consumption of its data bundles.</p>
<p>The company used to have off peak consumption from 10PM to 4am the next day. However in May 2023 it scrapped off peak consumption.</p>

How to Buy NetOne Airtime With EcoCash. Converting To Bundles

<p>Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, the country’s largest mobile network operator by subscriber base, has with effect from Tuesday, 20 June, hiked data bundles.</p>
<p>In a brief notice sent via SMS to its millions of subscribers, Econet said:</p>
<blockquote>
<p>We are reviewing our ZWL data and SMEs bundle prices effective Tuesday, 20 June 2023.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>An 8 gig private WIFI data bundle now costs ZWL$111 342 up from ZWL$37 114 while a 15 gig bundle is now available for ZWL$201 033 up from ZWL$67 011.</p>
<p>Econent said a 25 gig will cost ZWL$294 675 from ZWL$98 225 and 50 gig users will have to pay ZWL$506 106 up from ZWL$168 702.</p>
<p>The latest tariff hike by Econet comes as the value of the Zimbabwe dollar has continued to plummet against other currencies at both official and parallel markets.</p>
<p>Some service providers are now devising ways to reject the Zimbabwe dollar such as engaging in forward rating and claiming that their point-of-sale machines are down, leaving customers with no option except to make payments in foreign currency.</p>

Econet In Massive Data Bundle Tariff Hike

<p>State-owned mobile network operator, NetOne, has launched “Dzidzo”, a data bundle for University students accessible at a discounted cost.</p>
<p>The 5GB bundle costs only ZWL$1 000 and will be valid for a week. The bundle is cheaper than the 5GB monthly bundle which goes for ZWL$4 400. </p>
<p>In a statement on Thursday, NetOne head of marketing and public relations, Roselyn Chisveto, said:</p>
<blockquote>
<p>The Dzidzo bundle will only be valid for a week. It will be accessed via the *171# platform by numbers in the student class of service.</p>
<p>A separate Class of Service was created and Universities will be assisting in providing links to their Registry Database, where registered students with NetOne numbers will be able to access the bundle.</p>

NetOne Offers University Students A Cheaper Data Bundle

<p>Econet Wireless has called for an upward review of tariffs saying it was the only way to save the telecommunications sector from collapsing.</p>
<p>The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange-listed diversified telecommunications group also said it is heavily constrained by the ongoing foreign currency shortages.</p>
<p>In the results statement for the year ended February 28 2021, Econet chairman James Myers called for a review of the tariff to ensure that the sector remains afloat. He said:</p>
<blockquote>
<p>Our headline tariffs were last reviewed in August 2020. Given the inflationary pressures experienced, we believe that another tariff review is due in order for the sector to remain viable.</p>
<p>All our pricing is determined by the regulator using given cost inputs. The timely adjustment of tariffs, using the Telecommunications Pricing Index, is critical to our continued viability as a business.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>Myers also said the foreign currency shortage has crippled its operations and expressed hope that interventions by the Fiscal and Monetary authorities will improve the situation in the near future. Said Myers:</p>
<blockquote>
<p>Foreign currency availability continues to be the biggest hurdle facing the Company. This has constrained our ability to provide adequate capacity to our customers.</p>
<p>The Company has encountered operational challenges to meet its capacity enhancement and routine maintenance requirements.</p>
<p>We remain hopeful that the improvements in foreign currency availability due to interventions by the Fiscal and Monetary authorities will improve this situation in the foreseeable future.</p>

<p>Econet calls them Bouquets but it’s the same thing really. There’s a slight difference in the offering though. Econet combines WhatsApp with other apps like Pinterest and Sasai.</p>
<p>In terms of pricing, it’s comparable to Telecel. On most packages, Telecel is just a couple of dollars cheaper.</p>

<p>Which network is best is a difficult question to answer. If we were going with price alone, no doubt Telecel would be the network of choice. But this is not just a price matter.</p>
<p>Network coverage is more important. Depending on where you stay, you will most likely have to choose the network that has the best signal in that area.</p>
<p>NetOne and Econet have been known to generally have better coverage than Telecel. But the signal strength of even those 2 networks will vary depending on the location.</p>

WhatsApp Bundles Compared – NetOne, Econet, and Telecel

<p>Zimbabwe’s largest mobile telecommunications company Econet Wireless has advised its customers that it will review its data bundle prices in the wake of mounting costs and rising inflation.</p>
<p>Econet has however not revealed the new data prices, but the price adjustments will be effected tomorrow, Monday, 31 August 2020. The company said in a notice to its customers:</p>
<blockquote><p>Dear valued customer. Please take note, bundle prices for Data will be reviewed effective Monday 31 August 2020. Dial *143# to buy Data Bundles.</p></blockquote>
<p>Econet’s main data bundle prices are indeed currently lower than those of its competitors in the mobile industry, NetOne and Telecel.</p>
<p>An 80 MB Daily bundle is ZWL$32.00 on Econet and on NetOne the same data allocation is ZWL$50.00</p>
<p>It is thought the planned bundle price adjustment will bring its data tariffs at par with those of NetOne and Telecel.</p>
<p>According to <a href="https://www.techzim.co.zw/2020/08/econet-data-bundle-prices-set-to-be-increased-soon/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Techzim</strong></a>, late last month, the Post and Telecommunications Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) gave mobile network operators (MNOs) the green light to increase prices.</p>
<p>Mobile Network Operators were also given the green light to charge in both local and foreign currency in accordance with SI 185/2020</p>
<p>This meant that MNOs were able to charge at the interbank rate at the time POTRAZ authorisation was granted. POTRAZ, however, didn’t give any indication on the interval structure of the price increases.</p>


Econet To Revise Data Bundle Prices On August 31

<p>Zimbabwe’s largest Mobile Network Operator(MNO) Econet Wireless is mulling a data bundle price hike citing rising operating costs and inflation, The Herald reports.</p>
<p>This was revealed by a source from the MNO who spoke to the publication and said:</p>
<blockquote><p>We will be reviewing our data bundle prices and it could come in a week or two, if not earlier. The price of our data bundles are, on average, currently the lowest on the market right now</p></blockquote>
<p>According to the source, Econet is expected to hike their data bundle prices by almost 50% to meet their operating costs. The planned price increase might bring the data bundle prices at par with those of other MNOs like NetOne and Telecel.</p>

Telecel New Data Bundle Prices – August 2020

<p><a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Econet_Wireless_Zimbabwe" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Econet Wireless Zimbabwe</a> has announced that it will review Data and SMS bundle prices with effect from Tuesday 4 February 2020.</p>
<p>Econet, however, has not revealed the new prices for Data and SMS bundles.  Econet last hiked data tariffs several months ago.</p>
<p>The announcement comes after Zimbabwe’s major Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) lobbied the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Postal_and_Telecommunications_Regulatory_Authority_of_Zimbabwe" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Postal &amp; Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (POTRAZ)</a> to increase the price on voice calls as well as Data and SMS bundles.</p>

Econet’s New WhatsApp And Social Media Bundle Prices 29 August 2019

<p>Mobile Network Operator (MNO), Econet Wireless announced that it will review its Data and SMS bundles on 29 August 2019.</p>
<p>This is the umpteenth time that Econet has hiked tariffs this year alone.</p>
<p>An SMS sent by Econet to its millions of subscribers read:</p>
<blockquote><p>Dear Customer. Please take note bundle prices for Data &amp; SMS will be reviewed effective 29 August 2019. Dial *143# or *151# to buy Data or *140# to buy SMS Bundles.</p></blockquote>
<p>The two State-owned MNOs, namely NetOne and Telecel will most likely follow suit as they have also been raising tariffs regularly.</p>
