A man accused of murder nine years ago recently stirred emotions in his community when he returned to the scene of the crime under police guard for a reconstruction exercise.
The incident took place in Bilingoma Village, Ward 5, Matjinge, Plumtree, Matabeleland South Province.
According to <a href="https://cite.org.zw/haunted-by-victims-ghost-murder-suspect-returns-to-crime-scene-nine-years-later/">CITE</a>, the accused, Costine Moyo, allegedly killed and buried his victim in that very location in 2015.
A local villager, speaking to CITE, revealed that Moyo had been jailed for the crime but was released in 2014. Added the villager:

In 2016, he raped two women in Matjinge and Gambo, then evaded police by hiding in the Tsholotsho bush, where he committed another rape before being caught.
</blockquote>
Witnesses told CITE that Moyo arrived in the village under police escort, who announced that he was there to assist in locating the remains of a person allegedly murdered near the Big Bite shops in 2015.
According to local sources, a woman named Loveness Dube played a role in the incident by allegedly helping Moyo lure the victim, claiming she had arranged a job for him in Lupane. Said a villager:

The victim, unaware, travelled with Dube to Bulawayo, where he was met by Moyo and others at Big Bite shops.
They gave him alcohol and killed him later that night. Moyo confessed that Big Bite took parts of the victim’s body – including his head, hand, foot and private parts – and burned the remains with 10 litres of petrol.

Villagers claimed that the morning after the murder, Dube discovered bones, a satchel, and a birth certificate at the site.
Unable to read, Moyo began using the birth certificate without realising it revealed the identity of the deceased.
During his conversations with the villagers, Moyo disclosed that four people were involved in the murder: Big Bite, Loveness, Tendai, and another unnamed individual.
He claimed that he had been haunted by the victim, who appeared in his dreams demanding to be taken home.
The villagers also said Moyo confessed that Big Bite had promised him R20 000 but did not pay it.

Murder Suspect Returns To Crime Scene 9 Years Later, Claims Harassment By Victim's Ghost

A Grade Four learner at Mberi Primary School in Zengeza, Chitungwiza was injured as the children were fleeing from what they thought was a “ghost”.
The object, which learners claim was in the form of a woman, was allegedly spotted seated on the table.
Learners from Grade 4 Yellow ran away in terror and one of the learners ended up being taken to a clinic after she was injured in the stampede.
According to <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/ghost-sparks-chaos-at-zengeza-primary-school/">H-Metro</a>, parents and guardians gathered to collect their children, with one parent being arrested when police intervened. Said one parent:

There should be something frightening our children at school.
They were disturbed after a shadow-like image, in the form of a woman, was spotted seated on the table forcing both the teacher and children to flee from the classroom.
Nothing was seen after other teachers and students gathered to see where the shadowy figure was spotted.

Officials from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education were informed and district education officials, led by one only identified as Kureva, visited the school. Said Kureva:
<blockquote>
We came to collect information about the case and we are yet to compile a report and submit it to the authorities.
I am not in a position to comment, it is best to check with the Ministry later after we submit our report.
</blockquote>
Cases of suspected Satanism in Zimbabwe’s schools are common and authorities have seemingly failed to find a lasting solution to prevent the disruption of lessons by such occurrences.

"Ghost" Sparks Stampede At A School In Chitungwiza

Musiiwa Gondoro, who is a younger brother to Norman Chagwiza, who was recently arrested for stealing while clad in a skeleton-like costume and mask, committed suicide by hanging from a tree on Monday.
People around him suspect he feared being arrested in connection with theft cases.
Musiiwa allegedly worked in cahoots with his step-brother, Norman, breaking into houses of unsuspecting residents and stealing goods.
He reportedly took his own life after warning his wife not to disclose how he had acquired some of their household goods.
Musiiwa died on Monday before he was removed from the scene of his death on Tuesday afternoon.
His wife, Spiwe Dandira said her husband had not been coming home since the arrest of his step-brother. She said:
<blockquote>He told me not to tell anyone and if am asked about the batteries we have, I had to tell them that he bought them.
He told me to go home and that he would come and have his food.
I waited for him at home but he did not show up before I decided to return to his hiding place where I searched for him.
Unfortunately, he was found by his friends while hanging from a tree in the mountain.</blockquote>
Dandira said Musiiwa had been staying in the mountain for three days since the arrest of his brother.
Musiiwa’s friend identified as Baba Brian said the deceased had been living in fear of arrest. He said:
<blockquote>From the time his brother was arrested, he knew he was next as the police were trying to recover everything and apprehending the suspects.
The other Harare housebreaking team was arrested and this made him fear the worst prompting him to kill himself.</blockquote>
