Former Dynamos goalkeepers coach Gift “Umbro” Muzadzi has joined Real Betis Academy Zimbabwe following his exit from the Glamour Boys.
Muzadzi, who left DeMbare at the end of last season after the club dissolved the entire technical team, has been appointed Real Betis Academy Zimbabwe goalkeeper’s coach of all age groups at the Harare centre. The Academy said in a statement:

One of Zimbabwe’s finest Goalkeepers and coaches Gift Muzadzi has joined our Technical Team in our aim to produce World Class talent from our Campus through the Real Betis Methodology of football.
We are delighted to have his experience in both his playing and coaching career.
Gift will lead our Goalkeepers Department in our senior age groups.

Muzadzi joins Naison Muchekela at the academy after the pair worked together at Dynamos last year.
He will also link up with his 17-year-old son Tashinga, who is a striker at Real Betis Academy Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, Murape Murape, who was the first coach to head Real Betis Football Academy Zimbabwe’s technical department, recently left the Academy to join Dynamos as an assistant coach.

Gift Muzadzi Joins Real Betis Academy Zimbabwe

Dynamos Football Club has presented three youngsters from Mutoko rural with a life-changing opportunity after inviting them for development trials at the club.
The trio impressed the Dynamos technical team comprising Tonderai Ndiraya (coach) and his two assistants Naison Muchekela and Gift Muzadzi at the annual KB Kanyongo Football tournament held in Mutoko recently.
The annual tournament is held in honour of the late KB Kanyongo, father to the coordinator Gideon, who now resides in the United States. Dip FC beat Kanyongo FC 4-0 to clinch the cup in the final.
Ndiraya was the guest of honour while some football legends including former Rio Tinto goalkeeper Laban Kandi were also in attendance. Speaking at the event, Ndiraya said:

Let me thank the Kanyongo family for staging a tournament of this magnitude, this is exactly what we want as coaches.
This was an organised tournament that afforded us an opportunity to scout for talent.
That’s the reason why we came here to represent our institution together with my assistant coaches – Muzadzi and Muchekela.
I’m quite happy with what we observed. Muzadzi has identified a goalkeeper here while Muchekela and I managed to identify two infield players.
We are going to talk to the organisers of the tournament for these boys to come to Harare and have an experience of training with our team.

Ndiraya, a Young Warriors coach, has been keen on expanding the club’s talent search from the grassroots, with DeMbare earlier this year signing Luke Musikiri from rural Chipinge.
The club has also in the recent past signed youngsters Bill Antonio, Hamilton Gomba among others. Said Ndiraya:

Dynamos is a people’s team and we want it to be represented from across the country. So if they come to train with us and make the grade, why not sign them? We have the first team and we also have a developmental side.
So we can sign them for our development team. Of course, this was a tournament but when they come over to Harare it will be a completely different level.
It’s not just a matter of signing them, they will need to train and acclimatise to the environment and if they cope why not sign them?

Herdman Nyamutsahuni lauded the development saying it will put their community on the map.

Mutoko Rural Youngsters Excite Dynamos Coaches

Former Dynamos goalkeeper and current FC Platinum assistant coach, Gift Muzadzi (45) has been sentenced to 70 days in jail for defaulting on paying maintenance for his minor child.
Muzadzi has arrears of $1 050. He appeared before Harare magistrate Obedience Matare who convicted him on his own guilty plea. He admitted to neglecting his child for the past four years.
Prosecutor Linda Gadzikwa appealed the court to send Muzadzi to jail saying child upkeep was an important issue. The magistrate concurred with the state before she sentenced the once popular footballer. Matare ordered Muzadzi to clear the arrears forthwith or risk serving the effective custodial sentence. Muzadzi is however believed to have cleared the arrears soon after his conviction. He was taken to court by his wife, Angelina Muzadzi.
