After the rally in Manicaland, Siziba posted on social media, stating that they had set the tone and direction for the future. He wrote:

Before the 2023 elections, Chamisa dissolved the CCC structures and centralised power within his office.

Nelson Chamisa Mobilises Supporters In Manicaland, As He Makes Next Political Move Clear

Members of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) who were barred from participating in the upcoming by-elections have filed an appeal at the Supreme Court. Sengezo Tshabangu, who is the disputed Secretary General of the party, has reportedly not opposed the appeal. Tshabangu recalled these members and went to court to block them from participating in the by-elections under the CCC banner. He argued that it was unreasonable for them to represent a party that had recalled them because they were no longer its members.
Some of the appellants mentioned in the appeal are Amos Chibaya, Gift Siziba, Abel Nyakarombo, Tomson Magaluwa, Bornface Tagwirei, Roger Chikonye, Musingashari Musingashari, Sophia Rudo Gwasira, Cloud Nengomasha, Simon Mapuvire, Alice Kundlande, Loyce Tigiri, Ninion Varandeni, Dyke Mukumbi, Lovemore Maiko, Kudakwashe John, Kumirai Rutsvava, Ian Muteto Makone, Simon Machisvo, Jerita Mutingwende, Samuel Gwenzi, and Innocent Kuziva Haparari, along with the Citizens Coalition for Change itself.
They cited the Citizens Coalition for Change as the first respondent and Sengezo Tshabangu as the second respondent.
If Tshabangu does not oppose the appeal, the Supreme Court may grant a default judgment in favour of the appellants, allowing them to contest the by-elections under the CCC party. Some observers believe that Tshabangu won’t oppose the appeal to keep the MPs under CCC, as that is better than letting them follow Nelson Chamisa, who resigned from CCC on January 24, 2024. Several elected MPs resigned after Chamisa’s resignation, claiming that the CCC party had been infiltrated and taken over by the ruling ZANU PF and its affiliates within the CCC. Some MPs are waiting to see what Chamisa plans to do, while others are consulting with their constituents.
There have been previous claims by opposition members that the courts are biased and would rule in favour of Tshabangu. However, some believe that the courts will rule in favour of the appellants this time to leave Chamisa without influential followers. They argue that the ZANU PF government is not afraid of CCC but is afraid of Chamisa, so isolating him would weaken him.

Zimbabwe's Opposition CCC Takes "Decisive" Action Amid Name Dispute And New Party Speculation

High Court Justice Pisirayi Kwenda has given an order to remove the names of 23 opposition CCC Members of Parliament (MPs), including Amos Chibaya and Gift Ostallos Siziba, from the ballot papers for the upcoming by-elections set for 3 February. The judge ruled that these MPs are no longer CCC members and should not be allowed to run as candidates. He also expressed his displeasure with CCC lawyers for disregarding the court’s judgement.
The court heard arguments from both sides on 18 January 2024, and the judge reserved his judgment which he delivered on 19 January in the afternoon. The MPs in question were among several MPs and councillors who were recalled by Sengezo Tshabangu, the disputed CCC interim secretary-general. Tshabangu claimed that these individuals no longer belonged to the party.
The case arose when the recalled MPs filed to run in the by-elections under the CCC’s name. Tshabangu then took the matter to court, challenging the acceptance of their candidacy. His lawyer argued that there was a precedent of recalled members being disqualified from running in by-elections under the party that had recalled them.
After the ruling, CCC lawyer Obey Shava stated that he would consult with his client for further instructions. He noted that whether the recalled individuals will appear on the ballot for the February by-elections will depend on the legal actions taken by his client.
Journalist Mduduzi Mathuthu commented saying Nelson Chamisa should have either fielded candidates under a different party or supported ZAPU. He suggested that CCC’s decision to run independently allowed ZANU PF to gain ground in the elections. He said:

High Court Orders Removal Of Recalled CCC MPs From February By-elections Ballot Papers

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has refuted claims that CCC candidate for Pelandaba-Tshabalala constituency in the 03 February 2024 by-elections Gift “Ostallos” Siziba was arrested while doing door-to-door campaigns in Bulawayo on Tuesday.
In a statement, the ZRP said Siziba was not arrested but was asked to account for his activities after they received complaints from members of the public. It reads:

The ZRP dismisses social media postings alleging that Gift Ostallos Siziba was arrested by the Police while conducting door-to-door campaigns in Bulawayo on 09/01/24.
The Police only approached Gift Ostallos Siziba and his campaign team to account for what they were doing after receiving complaints from members of the public.
After that, Gift Ostallos Siziba was allowed to go. Therefore, the Police dismisses the social media postings with the contempt they deserve.

Siziba will be up against Joseph Tshuma (ZANU PF), Abraham Nkomo (DOP), and Moreblessing Tembo (CCC) as he seeks to take back the seat he won in the August 2023 general elections.
Siziba, who is aligned with CCC leader Nelson Chamisa, was recalled from Parliament by Sengezo Tshabangu, a CCC activist who claims to be the party’s interim secretary-general under unclear circumstances.
Tshabangu claimed that Siziba, among dozens of other CCC MPs and councillors whom he recalled, had ceased to be a CCC member.
The February 3 by-elections will be held in six constituencies, that is, Mkoba North, Zvimba East, Chegutu West, Goromonzi South, Seke, and Pelandaba-Tshabalala.

Ostallos Has Not Been Arrested - Police

Charges against Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activists from Bulawayo, including two Members of Parliament, have been dropped due to a lack of evidence. The activists, including recalled Tshabalala-Pelandaba legislator Gift Siziba and Bulawayo Central legislator Surrender Kapoikulu, were accused of defacing a rival’s campaign posters. However, the state withdrew the charges as they were unable to provide sufficient evidence to support the accusations.
The complainant in the case was Soneni Moyo, a CCC candidate who had lost in the August 23 elections. It was alleged that on August 16, the CCC activists went to Pelandaba shops and removed Moyo’s campaign posters from walls and Zesa poles. Moyo reported the incident to the police at Western Commonage, leading to the charges being filed against the activists.
However, the activists’ lawyer, Tinashe Runganga, argued that the charges were baseless and lacked evidence, <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200020558/charges-against-ccc-activists-withdrawn">NewsDay</a> reported. He stated that they had been challenging the accusations from the beginning, knowing that there was no substantial proof. Runganga added:

Siziba also said that he plans to sue the complainant for US$100,000. He believes that this amount should compensate him for the time he had to spend attending court sessions instead of carrying out his duties as a Member of Parliament.

State Drops Charges Against Gift Siziba And Other CCC Activists

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) spokesperson Gift Ostallos Siziba has warned the party’s self-proclaimed interim Secretary General, Sengezo Tshabangu, will be dumped by ZANU PF soon.
Tshabangu recently recalled 14 CCC legislators and over 17 CCC councillors, alleging that they were no longer members of the party. Some CCC officials claim that Tshabangu was influenced by ZANU PF to initiate the recalls.
During a camping rally held to rally support for the upcoming by-elections, Siziba expressed concern over Tshabangu’s actions, warning him about the people he associates with, <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200020467/tshabangu-will-be-dumped-soon-siziba">NewsDay</a> reported. Siziba cautioned that Tshabangu should be careful as his handlers would eventually turn their backs on him. He said:

Siziba also said MDC leader Douglas Mwonzora had also been used by ZANU PF but was eventually dumped when he had accomplished his mission. Siziba added:

We fear nothing, they know, you voted and gave people a mandate. Everywhere, where there is a robot, it is governed by CCC, all residents who contribute taxes are governed by CCC. So, in council, we are the government and Zanu PF is in the rural council.

Siziba claimed that the CCC did not have a position of secretary-general. He added that the party’s opponents thought that the CCC had no Constitution but were surprised when it was produced in court. Zimbabwe’s main opposition party, the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has denied rumours of divisions within the party after some of its Members of Parliament and councillors were recalled.
The self-proclaimed party’s interim secretary general, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Sengezo_Tshabangu/">Sengezo Tshabangu</a>, recalled 15 MPs, councillors, and senators, amid claims that some senior party officials were behind the move. Names mentioned include <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Tendai_Biti/">Tendai Biti</a>, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Welshman_Ncube/">Welshman Ncube</a> and <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Chalton_Hwende/">Chalton Hwende</a>. However, during a press conference, CCC’s deputy spokesperson, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Gift_Ostallos_Siziba/">Gift Ostallos Siziba</a>, along with the remaining MPs, downplayed any signs of disagreement within the opposition party. <a href="https://www.newzimbabwe.com/ccc-downplays-chamisa-biti-fallout-says-contradictions-are-common-in-organisations/">NewZimbabwe</a> quotes him as saying:

There are signs of internal conflict within CCC following the disputed August elections, with reports of senior members expressing dissatisfaction. Tshabangu has suggested returning to the leadership structure from 2019 when the party was known as MDC Alliance, which would restore some senior members. Hwende, Biti, and Ncube held positions such as Secretary General and Vice President at that time but lost their roles after the 2023 elections, becoming “ordinary” party members. Siziba added:

This thing you are seeing is a Zanu PF issue, Zanu PF attacking the authentic opposition. All signs are clear CCC defeated Zanu PF in this election. We reject the election results because we are very clear that it’s not only a CCC issue.

Siziba claimed that CCC is being targeted and punished because they defeated ZANU PF in the 23-24 August harmonised elections. The party claims that its leader, Nelson Chamisa, defeated ZANU PF presidential candidate, President Emmerson Mnangagwa but the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) connived with ZANU PF to overturn the CCC victory.
Siziba believes that the recalls are part of a deliberate plan by ZANU PF to destroy the genuine opposition in the country. He, however, emphasised that CCC will not accept this and will stay focused on its goal of attaining political power and governing in a different way. There Are No Fissures, No Contradictions In CCC - Siziba

Sengezo Tshabangu, the self-proclaimed interim secretary general of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), is facing a lawsuit for allegedly stealing intellectual property. Tshabangu has been recalling CCC Members of Parliament (MPs) and councillors, claiming they are no longer party members. However, other CCC officials, including 2023 presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa, argue that Tshabangu is not a party member and that the party does not have a Secretary-General position.
CCC Deputy Spokesperson, Gift Ostallos Siziba said the party has taken legal action against Tshabangu for violating their intellectual property rights. He said:

We actually received an update just yesterday that in relation to that High Court application Tshabangu the impostor has responded and we expect that issue to be heard at the High Court of Zimbabwe. Pursuant to that, our legal representative Obey Shava and his team has actually been engaging Parliament and Local Government Ministry to make them aware that there is a lawsuit against Tshabangu by the CCC party.

Tshabangu’s spokesperson, Khalipani Phugeni, stated that he had not received any court documents regarding the lawsuit mentioned, but does not doubt the claims made by Siziba. Phugeni said:

I haven’t heard from the SG (Tshabangu) on that one. I have no reason again to doubt what I heard Honourable Siziba say. I think he said that they filed a lawsuit and they have received papers from the SG. So I would take it that he was saying that the SG has opposed whatever application it was.

Recalled MPs took the matter to the High Court, arguing that Tshabangu lacked the authority to recall them. However, the High Court rejected their application, stating that the MPs had not provided sufficient evidence to prove Tshabangu’s lack of authority. The court also noted that the MPs should have included the party in their case, allowing the party to testify that Tshabangu was not the party’s Secretary General.

CCC Sues Sengezo Tsabangu For Intellectual Property Theft

Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Mabvuku-Tafara, James Chidhakwa, has narrated how he was abducted and tortured by suspected state security services.
He said he was picked by about seven people who were driving a Toyota Fortuner. He was waiting to pick up his wife from work when he was picked up around 7pm. He narrated in Shona:

While I was parked at my wife’s workplace, a blue-gold Toyota Fortuner pulled up next to me. Suddenly, the people inside the car approached me. One person came to my door, and another tried to open the other doors. Even though the doors were locked, the windows were open, so they unlocked the doors and forcefully pulled me out. I cried out for help, but sadly, no one came to rescue me. 
I was forced into the Fortuner, and they covered my head with a sack. Then, in a remote place, they took out a knife and cut my shirt. They took my shoes and threw them into the jungle. They injected me with something using a syringe, but I don’t know what it was. After that, they started beating me severely and without reason. They were quiet people, not speaking much, but in the car, they kept saying, “You’re the change champions.” They also asked about my political affiliation, whether I belonged to (Nelson) Chamisa’s faction or that of (Sengezo) Tshabangu. I asked them if Tshabangu had a party but they didn’t respond.
Once they finished beating me, they reversed the vehicle and ran the car wheels over my legs, causing immense pain. Then, they drove away, leaving me injured with broken feet and arm, cuts on my legs and head, and marks from a knobkerrie on my back. 
When I started seeking help, some artisanal miners saved me and brought me to the police where I was given a letter for medical treatment. I contacted my family, and we went to the Parirenyatwa hospital with the police letter. 
We understand that these actions indicate the regime’s fear and panic. When the country takes a different path than what they expected, they become anxious. We know that ZANU PF, (President Emmerson) Mnangagwa, are feeling uneasy, especially because SADC is about to hold a summit about Zimbabwe and Chamisa is causing them trouble, and they don’t know how to handle it. 
But for me, this is part of the struggle. I’m not worried or angry because I know that in the fight for change, we encounter such obstacles. It’s ZANU PF’s strategy to instil fear in citizens, but I want to tell my fellow change champions that fear is just an opinion, and we don’t subscribe to that opinion. We are determined to make our country democratic, and we firmly believe that Mr. Chamisa should lead us. We have no doubt that we should continue fighting. They have given me strength and motivation.
Doctors are currently investigating the substance they injected into me. They are conducting blood tests to find out more.
They (the assailants) believed that my power came from my hair, so they cut it and took it with them. I’m unsure what they plan to do with it.

Gift Ostallos Siziba, the deputy spokesperson of the CCC, stated that they visited Chidhakwa on Wednesday morning. Siziba claimed that ZANU PF is fearful of the public’s determination to restore legitimacy in Zimbabwe since they know they did not win the 23 August 2023 elections. These attacks are occurring openly in front of the public, he said.

He said Chidhakwa was found dumped in Acturus, injured and injected with an unknown substance. He sustained deep cuts and is currently hospitalised.

Mazhindu Brighton, the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) candidate, has won the 2023 Parliamentary election in St Mary’s Constituency in Chitungwiza. He shrugged off competition from Nobert Chinjika of ZANU PF and Freddy Michael Masarirevu, who also ran under the CCC banner.
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) reported that Mazhindu received 11,094 votes, while Chinjika received 7,728 votes and Masarirevu received 5,519 votes.
The constituency elections officer for St Mary’s, Mr Herbert Chirowodza, confirmed the results in a Declaration of Result of Poll Results form. Chiroodza officially declared Mazhindu as the elected member of the National Assembly for the constituency.
In addition, Chiroodza said 352 ballot papers were rejected, and the voter turnout percentage was recorded as 72.1 percent.
According to CCC deputy spokesperson Gift Ostallos Siziba, the opposition party has achieved a historic victory in Chitiguzwa’s democratic politics by winning all 25 council seats.

Zimbabwe 2023 Elections Results: CCC Wins St Mary's Parliamentary Seat

The opposition party <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">Citizen Coalition</a> for Change (CCC) has reportedly fielded two candidates for two Bulawayo constituencies, including Pelandaba-Tshabalala and Pumula, which is a violation of <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">electoral regulations</a>, according to the <a href="https://www.chronicle.co.zw/zec-releases-bulawayo-nomination-court-results/">Chronicle</a>. The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/06/22/full-list-ccc-parliamentary-candidates-2023-elections/">party’s official list</a> only mentions one candidate for each constituency. <a class="MarkdownLink_linkifiedLink__KxC9G">The Chronicle</a> reported that Sichelesile Mahlangu and Albert Mhlanga were fielded for Pumula, while the party only mentions Sichelesile Mahlangu. Similarly, Gift Ostallos Siziba and Soneni Moyo were reportedly fielded for Pelandaba-Tshabalala, but the official list only mentions Gift Ostallos Siziba. Attempts to contact Siziba were unsuccessful.
The Chronicle cites the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC)’s list of parliamentary candidates who successfully filed their nomination papers in Bulawayo for the upcoming election. CCC Reportedly Fielded Two Candidates In Two Bulawayo Constituencies

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Gift_Ostallos_Siziba/">Gift Ostallos Siziba</a>, the CCC’s deputy spokesperson, emphasized that the party will use non-violent means to gain state power. He urged young people to avoid participating in a violent revolution and criticized Jonathan Moyo for negative comments. The revolution, according to Siziba, is a local struggle led by CCC. <a href="https://cite.org.zw/we-will-use-non-violent-means-to-gain-power-ccc/">CITE</a> quotes him as saying:

There are people, our other parties saying Chamisa has no plan, let me tell you, this struggle. When we were persecuting this struggle for 20 years, we know the enemy that we are dealing with, they wanted us to be in the streets, to cause violence so that they would arrest the leader of the revolution.
We know their behaviour because I say to you fellow young people, our method of struggle is the ballot, there are those who want a violent revolution, they have a right to define their struggle, define their methods, prosecute it, our method as CCC is a non-violent national democratic revolution to the power of the ballot.
Now our friend we grew up with in Tsholotsho, Jonathan Moyo, he says to us CCC is weak and so forth, he is speaking in Kenya, this struggle is local, the revolution is local, the revolution is not being televised from Nairobi, the revolution is here, we are leading it here.

He also expressed confidence in the party’s victory in the upcoming elections and highlighted that the party achieved a whitewash despite facing several challenges. He said:

We hear them saying CCC is not going to win, let me tell you, there was a survey by research Institutions, they predicted a Chamisa victory, police survey: Chamisa victory, military survey: Chamisa victory, they know that when it comes to the election, no one in the body politics of this country can defeat Advocate Nelson Chamisa.

Siziba pointed out that despite CCC facing several challenges, including losing their headquarters and members of parliament, they emerged victorious in the March 26, 2022 by-elections, which he attributed to the nature of the democratic revolution as a revolution of culture.

CCC Vows Non-Violent Means To Gain Power

The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has scoffed at the president of the Chiefs Council of Zimbabwe Chief Fortune Charumbira’s claims that the opposition party has a hand in sexual assault allegations levelled against him by his 27-year-old niece.
On Wednesday, CCC deputy spokesperson Gift “Ostallos” Siziba told <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200010448/sex-assault-charumbira-victims-family-speak-out">NewsDay</a> that the party is against all forms of violence against women. Said Siziba:

How does CCC get involved in this case? We condemn any form of abuse and violence against women.
If there was an abuse of power, Charumbira, just like any other citizen, should face the wrath of the law.
In other democratically progressive countries, Charumbira would have resigned both from PAP and Chiefs’ Council, but because we are in Zimbabwe, he is still a free man.

Chief Fortune Charumbira, who is also the president of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), is accused of sexually assaulting his married niece.
The victim, who is a teacher at a school in Masvingo, reported the matter at Masvingo Central Police Station under RRB 5457646 on Saturday last week.
According to leaked chats seen by NewsDay, Charumbira accused the victim of “maliciously” filing the charges against him and conniving with CCC. He said in the leaked chats:

I know you are working on documentation to go to Canada and run away from Zimbabwe after messing up my name with lies.
Do not run away. Ndakatosviba kare (my name was long soiled), let’s meet in court.
As a result of this attack on me, there is a lot of information between you, sekuru Foki and Gari which I know.
Ndavurawa image pasi rose nenhema kuti (My image has been tarnished worldwide through allegations that) I touched (your) private parts etc kidnapped etc. Whoom! Mwari ndewedu tese (God is for us all).
Vana (The likes of) Takanayi and other CCC members had several meetings with you to push this agenda.
I did not think you would agree to falsehoods against me to please them.

According to a leaked police memorandum, Charumbira allegedly sexually assaulted the complainant on two separate occasions.
He allegedly fondled the complainant’s breasts, kissed her without her consent, and groped her private parts.
The alleged assault took place at Rainbow Towers Hotel on 31 March this year and on 02 April at Crown Plaza Hotel, respectively.

CCC Not Involved In Chief Charumbira Indecent Assault Case - Ostallos

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Citizens%27_Coalition_for_Change">Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC)</a> leader <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Nelson_Chamisa">Nelson Chamisa</a> on Friday ordered Harare councillors to immediately review the parking penalty charges following a public outcry.
Chamisa’s directive came after the local authority refused to back down on its US$132 penalty charge for failing to display a valid parking ticket worth US$1 per hour.
In a revision of the policy earlier Friday, the local authority said a motorist who has not bought a parking ticket would be given a 30-minute grace period before clamping, while those whose tickets have expired would be given an hour’s grace period.
Motorists have complained the US$132 release fee for clamped vehicles is wildly disproportionate to the offence.
The CCC is the majority party in Harare and Chamisa summoned all the party’s councillors including mayor Jacob Mafume for a meeting on Friday.
The meeting was closed to reporters, but councillors who attended said the CCC leader was “angry” and fell short of telling the councillors they may not represent the party in future if the policy stands. ZimLive quotes an anonymous councillor as saying:

He was quite animated and angry. He said the penalty fees were akin to overtaxing and overburdening the poor, and told us to choose whether we want to be with citizens or against citizens.

Another councillor is cited as saying Chamisa told the councillors to review the parking penalty charges adding that the existence of bylaws supporting the charges was no excuse. The councillor said:

He said the bylaws may have been there for years but insisted that this did not justify their existence. He said we took over the council to change things and not to maintain the old order.

ZimLive was told that Chamisa told the councillors that they had to “<a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/city-parking-adjusts-parking-rules-effective-10-march-2023/">immediately fix the problem.</a>”
CCC deputy spokesperson Gift Ostallos Siziba confirmed Chamisa’s meeting with the councillors. Siziba said:

The president expects the councillors to meet as a matter of urgency and pass a resolution to correct the issues that have been highlighted by residents. The CCC must always be pro-poor, pro-citizens and place citizens before profit. That was the president’s message to the councillors.

Local government minister July Moyo has appointed a committee to look into the parking system in Harare which is operated by a company called City Parking in partnership with the city.

Chamisa Orders Harare Councillors To Immediately Review Parking Penalty Charges

Kuwadzana East legislator <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Chalton_Hwende">Chalton Hwende</a> (Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC)) has withdrawn from the party’s rural mobilisation exercise, citing hostile social media comments from colleagues in the party.
He said he would now concentrate on other arms of the party, according to <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200004608/hwende-dumps-ccc-rural-campaign">NewsDay</a>. He is quoted as saying:

 My withdrawal from rural mobilisation is strictly attributed to people who are hostile on social media platforms; not any other reason.

Earlier, Hwende had tweeted:

Yesterday I addressed a ward meeting of @CCCZimbabwe volunteers in Mhondoro. We prefer smaller meetings to counter victimisation. This is probably my last meeting. I have noticed the negative comments from our CCC citizens on Twitter whenever I go to mugwazo in Mhondoro. I have also considered the stress and anguish which most of the comments cause to my teenage kids.
The reason I agreed to help in Mhondoro was to assist in growing the rural vote. I did 38-weekend meetings this year, funding myself and abandoning my work at my logistics company.
As a leader in the movement, I have a responsibility to take into account the negative comments on Twitter and also introspect. I will use the December holiday to do exactly that. I love my citizens’ movement the @CCCZimbabwe and will continue contributing in other areas.

CCC has been engaged in the mugwazo rural mobilisation programme to lure the rural vote ahead of next year’s polls.
The campaign is meant to encourage citizens to register to vote in numbers for the 2023 polls.

The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has rubbished claims that top activist, Godfrey Karembera better known as Madzibaba veShanduko, has defected to ZANU PF.
Social media was Saturday awash with reports that Karembera had joined the ruling party because he was not getting any material support from CCC.
Posting on his Twitter account, ZANU PF Youth League National Deputy Political Commissar Taurai Kandishaya said Karembera had opened up to him when he visited his homestead in Guruve. Said Kandishora:

Madzibaba Weshanduko said “Commissar let’s go to my house so that we talk.” He said “madzibaba hupenyu hwakandiomera kuCCC vakuru vanodya vega (Life is difficult for me. My leaders do not care about us.) Buy me a battery for my incubator. Voting day I will do what changes my life.”

Karembera however, told <a href="https://www.newzimbabwe.com/lies-and-cheap-propaganda-says-ccc-as-top-activist-madzibaba-veshanduko-defects-to-zanu-pf/">Newzimbabwe.com</a> that Kandishora lied. NewZimbabwe quotes as saying:

They are trying all strategies to destroy the party but they will never win. They first tried to kill me but they failed. They offered me a car and I turned the offer down.
Today I was shocked to see my photos with the CIOs on social media.
There was a funeral at my neighbours’ homestead which I attended the funeral. Everyone knows me and a lot of people wanted to have a selfie moment with me. I did that happily not knowing some were on a mission to fabricate lies about me.
I was not even aware that some of the people who wanted photos with me were Zanu-PF activists on a plot to soil my relationship with my party leaders but anyway, I have not joined Zanu-PF. I remain with CCC.

Karembera said some of the mourners visited his homestead to see his projects, adding he did not turn anyone away because he thought they had genuine interests.
CCC deputy national spokesperson Ostallos Siziba said the ruling party was “desperate” and was selling cheap propaganda.

CCC Rubbishes Reports That Madzibaba Veshanduko Defected To ZANU PF

CCC has scoffed at claims by former Masvingo Urban MP Tongai Matutu that the MDC asked for economic sanctions to be imposed on Zimbabwe fully aware that they will bring suffering to ordinary people.
In a statement he shared on his Twitter page on Friday, Matutu claimed that he and other members of the opposition had made various visits to America to plead for the renewal of the sanctions.
He further claimed that Western countries gave MDC officials millions of dollars for inviting the sanctions.
However, speaking to <a href="https://www.newzimbabwe.com/ex-mdc-official-competing-with-mnangagwas-bootlickers-says-chamisas-ccc-after-sensational-claims-opposition-crafted-us-eu-sanctions-on-zim/">NewZimbabwe.com</a>, CCC deputy spokesperson, Gift “Ostallos” Siziba accused Matutu of lying through his teeth in order to get a slot at ZANU PF’s feeding trough.
Siziba asserted that CCC members will never be victims of a revised history of the democratic struggle. He said:

This is expected from excitable characters trying to deepen their dirty hands in the gravy train and eating trough of the regime in Harare, but as a matter of fact, the history of the opposition is well known and well documented in terms of who did what, where and how.
We cannot be victims of revisionism, as a way to try and weaponise that revision to advance very naive and petty political objections to try and compete with the bootlickers of Mnangagwa in Harare.
The intention and script of ZANU PF to try and directly link CCC and MDC despite that the movements are different in form, character and content is something that does not surprise but is expected of the regime and their different players whose intentions are to bootlick their way into the looting trough.

Matutu was appointed the Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Deputy Minister during the Government of National Unity (GNU) by the then Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.
He first left Tsvangirai for then party secretary-general Tendai Biti’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2014, before making a comeback in 2016.

CCC Scoffs At Former MDC MP's Sanctions Claims

The MDC Alliance will not hold primary elections to select candidates for the 2023 elections but will adopt a community-based candidate selection process.
This was said by the party’s spokesperson Gift Ostallos Siziba during a media briefing on Monday night.
Siziba made the remarks following MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa’s tour of the Matabeleland region where locals said they do not want candidates imported from other regions. Said Siziba:

The president and the leadership of the party responded to these key questions during the interface and of course got the opportunity to share with the communities in and around our party’s view, around key issues like the party’s name, and how we intend to deploy candidates.
One of the predominant issues that came from community leaders is that they do not want candidates imported to lead them.
So the party has responded by proposing a community-based candidate selection programme. So this time we are not going to be having primary elections as a party.

He said the people of Matabeleland were unhappy with the marginalisation of the region.
Siziba said once Chamisa’s party wins the 2023 elections, it would end the underdevelopment of Matabeleland and the side-lining of languages in the region, particularly Ndebele, Kalanga and Tonga.

MDC Alliance Dumps Primary Elections

Armed police on Wednesday allegedly pounced on MDC Alliance activists that were gathered at Vova shopping centre in Nkayi, Matabeleland North province to meet their party leader Nelson Chamisa.
Chamisa has been touring rural areas in the country to mobilise support ahead of the 2023 harmonised elections.
His tours have encountered violent attacks by ZANU PF supporters.
MDC Alliance deputy spokesperson, Gift Ostallos Siziba Thursday claimed that Chamisa was attacked in Nkayi on Wednesday. Siziba claimed:

Armed with AK47s and tear smoke, the State unleashed terror on thousands of citizens of Nkayi.
Vova shopping centre was turned into a war zone by trigger-happy regime agents who were petrified that if president Chamisa addressed the people, they would be fired.
A whole battalion comprising high-ranking police officers, Central Intelligence Organisation officers (CIOs) and mujibhas were stationed in Nkayi.

However, Siziba could not reveal how Chamisa managed to escape the attack.
Indications are that Chamisa had initially managed to navigate his way into Matabeleland North, and met supporters in various places like Tohwe and at Turk Mine.
In a social media Facebook post on Wednesday, Chamisa said:

I’m in Nkayi, Matabeleland North. Just had a fulfilling citizen and community interface, listening to citizens’ concerns, hopes and aspirations. Great conversations at Nkayi centre, Vova, Tohwe, Zwelabo and Gwelutshena. Nkayi is ready for change. A new great Zimbabwe is loading.

Later, there was a massive gathering at the Vova shopping centre where the police pounced on the crowd and dispersed it.

<blockquote>MDC youth assembly would like to state categorically, without fear of contradictions, that we will not fold hands while the regime attempts to use every platform necessary and unnecessary to destabilize the movement.
1. The regime wants to use all the avenues including the Supreme Court judgement to destabilize the party by parroting an idea that a judgement will be issued to choose new leadership for the MDC.
2. There are those, for reasons best known to themselves, who believe that such a time will come when Zanu PF will foist a leadership on us. Never.
3. On cheap corruption allegations against the party, this is a fabricated narrative to divert us from the real crisis affecting the people of Zimbabwe.
Their intention is to equalize our party with Zanu, whose corrupt oligarchy have stashed loot worth a whopping US$7 billion outside the country, according to ZACC.
We, therefore, state as follows:
1. The Movement for Democratic Change gathered in Gweru on the 26th of May 2019 at our 5th national congress elected a leadership whose outcome is a matter and fact of public knowledge. No leader of this great movement will emerge from Zanu PF.
2. The President is not a signatory to any party account. This is a task constitutionally mandated to the Secretary-General and the Treasurer General who are signatories and anything related to party funds shall be unveiled in the audit report.
The people must know that this is a hatchet job to malign and besmirch the character and image of our leadership.
3. Those who in their infinite wisdom, or lack of it thereof, are made to believe that there is or they can be another leadership outside that of President Chamisa and his team are day-dreaming.
4. As the vanguard of the party, whose key values are justice, freedom and solidarity, we respect anyone’s freedom to lead the movement, but only through a democratic process as the one we conducted in Gweru. Those imagining themselves at 44 Nelson Mandela without the popular mandate of the people must wake up from their slumber.
We will not allow such shenanigans. Our focus is and shall be on taking the fight to the doorstep of this callous, brutal and ruthless regime.
Our sole intention is to transform the concrete realities of our people.

FULL TEXT: MDC Youth 'Will Not Allow The Regime To Destabilize The Movement'

<blockquote>SIZIBA SET FREE OVER PUBLIC VIOLENCE CHARGES
HARARE Magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti on Monday 9 December 2019 set free MDC Youth Assembly Secretary-General Gift Ostallos Siziba after ordering that he be removed from remand for allegedly inciting people to revolt against President <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Emmerson_Mnangagwa" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Emmerson Mnangagwa’s</a> government.
Siziba had been appearing in court since he was arrested by Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officers on Wednesday 10 July 2019 and charged with incitement to commit public violence as defined in section 187 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.
Prosecutors charged that Siziba incited members of the public to rise up against President Mnangagwa’s government when he addressed his MDC party supporters at a political rally held in Harare.
On Monday 9 December 2019, the MDC youth leader’s lawyer Moses Nkomo of <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Lawyers_for_Human_Rights" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights</a> protested against the State’s failure to have his trial commence despite undertaking to do so on several occasions.
This resulted in Magistrate Muchuchuti agreeing with Nkomo’s submissions and removed Siziba from remand and ordering the State to proceed by issuing a summons if it intends to press on with his prosecution.

MDC Official Freed Over Public Violence Charges {Full Text}

<blockquote>MDC Youth Assembly secretary-general Gift Ostallos Siziba has been detained on trumped-up charges of incitement to commit public violence.
The charges arise from remarks he allegedly made at a rally in Glen Norah in Harare on Sunday. Siziba has been detained just at the time the MDC is seized with establishing the whereabouts of detained MDC Vice-Chairman Hon. Job Sikhala, who was expected to appear in court today.
His lawyers, party officials and members of the Sikhala family have been stood up until late this afternoon. Hon. Sikhala did not show up at court and the police have not bothered to explain his whereabouts.
Hon. Sikhala is facing trumped-up charges of subverting a constitutionally elected government.
Siziba went to Harare Central Police Station CID Law and Order section this morning accompanied by his lawyers, Moses Nkomo and Agency Gumbo. The police refused to release him into their custody pending his appearance in court tomorrow.
Hon. Sikhala and Siziba’s detention exposes the Mnangagwa callous nature of Mnangagwa’s administration, which has been trying to hoodwink Zimbabweans and the international community that they are different from the oppressive regime of former president Robert Mugabe.
The detention of the two MDC senior officials, the recent clamp-down on civil society activists and MPs have exposed this regime for what it really is.
The brutal murder of innocent Zimbabweans on August 1, 2018, and in January 2019 have shown that Mnangagwa has never been a reformist, contrary to his posturing to the world and to the diplomatic community.
In short, this is not in any way the Second Republic but a brutal continuation of the First.
