<p>Popular Comidianne<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Gonyeti"> Gonyeti</a> narrates her abduction story to SA’s Mail &amp; Guardian. Gonyeti told the SA paper that, at a sewage facility she was taken to, she was told she was too young to mock the government.</p>
<p>Speaking to the publication Samantha said:</p>
<blockquote><p>They pushed me and ordered me to sit in sewage water. They were saying ‘You are too young to mock the government. You are being paid to mock the government.’ They started beating me.</p></blockquote>
<p>Gonyeti was in <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2019/12/01/pictures-a-human-rights-award-for-bustop-tvs-gonyeti/">South Africa where she received a Human Rights award from Southern Africa Human Rights Network  for being a human rights defender of the year. </a></p>

<p>Bustop TV’s <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Gonyeti">Gonyeti</a> won a Human Rights Defender Of the year award in South Africa this past week. The popular comedienne was honoured by The Southern Africa Human Rights Network.</p>
<p>Samantha posted the pictures on social media.</p>

<p>Police Spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said that the Bustop TV duo, Gonyeti and Maggie were not arrested for their skit #CharityCharambaChallenge.</p>
<p>Gonyeti and Maggie, real names Samantha Kureya and Sharon Chideu respectively, were on Tuesday arrested by the police for producing a film while clad in apparel resembling police uniforms.</p>
<p>Charamba said that actors should, first of all, seek permission from the relevant authorities before using police or military uniform-resembling clothes in their performances.</p>
<p>Gonyeti and Maggie were made to pay $20 each as Admission of Guilty fines. Below is Charamba speaking:</p>

<p>The Bustop TV comedians were fined $20 today for wearing police uniforms in a video skit posted in 2016 on social media.</p>
<p>The comedians, Maggie (real name Sharon Chideu) and Gonyeti (real name Samantha Kureya), were arrested earlier today.</p>
<p>The video in question in on the issue of police brutalising people they arrest.</p>

<p>They were charged under section 66 of the Police Act which reads:</p>
<blockquote class="wp-block-quote"><p>66 Wearing of uniforms, badges, etc. of Police Force Any person who wears any uniforms or distinctive badge or button of the Police Force or anything which might reasonably be mistaken for any such uniform, badge or button as to be likely to deceive, shall, unless— (a) he is a member of the Police Force entitled by reason of his appointment, rank or designation to wear such uniform, badge or button; or (b) he has been granted permission by the Commissioner to wear such uniform, badge or button; be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding level five or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months or to both such fine and such imprisonment.</p></blockquote>
