The results of the October/November 2024 National Foundation Certificate (NFC) to Higher National Diploma (HND) examinations conducted by the Higher Education Examinations Council (HEXCO) are now available.
HEXCO centres can start collecting results from their respective regions on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
On Friday, Professor Fanuel Tagwira, Permanent Secretary for Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development, said that 67 per cent of students achieved success.
In the November/December 2023 exams, HEXCO recorded a 68 per cent pass rate, marking a major improvement from the 60 per cent pass rate achieved in 2022.
Tagwira thanked all stakeholders involved in the examination process for contributing to the high pass rate.

HEXCO October/November 2024 Exam Results Out

The Higher Education Examinations Council (HEXCO) has released the November/December 2023 results from the National Foundation Certificate to the Higher National Diploma level.
This was announced by Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Permanent Secretary, Professor Fanuel Tagwira, in a statement issued on Wednesday, 07 February. It reads:

Tagwira wishes to announce that the Higher Education Examinations Council (HEXCO) November/December 2023 National Foundation Certificate (NFC) to Higher National Diploma (HND) results have been released.
He wishes to thank the lecturers, the students, parents/guardians, the examination staff and all stakeholders involved in the national examination system and in the teaching and learning processes.
Their contribution has enabled the pass rate to rise from 60% in 2022 to 68% for this examination session.

Tagwira advised all HEXCO Centres to collect the results from their respective regions from Tuesday 6 February 2024.

2023 HEXCO Examination Results Out

The Higher Education Examinations Council (HEXCO) has released the March/April 2022 NFC to HND examinations results.
In a statement, the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development said the results are ready for collection from all HEXCO Centres from Thursday 19 May 2022. The statement reads:

HEXCO March/April 2022 Results Out

The Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development has announced the release of the Industrial Training and Trade Test results for the April 2022 examination.
In a statement released on Tuesday afternoon, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Fanuel Tagwira said a 66 per cent pass rate was recorded.
He added that candidates can access their results from their respective regions from Wednesday 20 April 2022.

HEXCO Results Are Out

Fifteen (15) lecturers marking Higher Education Examinations Council (HEXCO) papers at Masvingo Polytechnic College have tested positive for coronavirus.
The lecturers were found to have contracted the virus after tests were carried out at Mazoredze Clinic.
Masvingo Polytechnic principal Callisto Muzongondi confirmed the matter to Masvingo Mirror, saying the Ministry of Health and Childcare has dispatched a team of nurses to screen students and other staffers for the infectious virus. He said:
<blockquote>Some 15 examiners who are marking HEXCO exams tested COVID-19 positive on Tuesday and are in quarantine here.
The Ministry of Health has sent in a team that is screening students and other staffers for the lethal virus.</blockquote>
Other higher learning institutions in Masvingo Province like Bondolfi and Morgenster Teachers’ colleges have also recorded COVID-19 cases.
This comes as the ruling ZANU PF party has continued to defy lockdown regulations by holding rallies throughout the country, reported <a href="https://masvingomirror.com/zanu-pf-holds-rally-at-chinanaira-business-center-in-gutu/">Masvingo Mirror</a>.
In Gutu North alone more than 10 rallies were held in the last week even though churches, restaurants, weddings, funerals and other gatherings are all banned.

15 HEXCO Markers At Masvingo Polytechnic Test Positive For Covid

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/High_Court_of_Zimbabwe" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">High Court</a> judge Justice Webster Chinamora has ordered <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Kwekwe_Polytechnic" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Kwekwe Polytechnic College</a> to release the results for 93 electrical engineering and diesel plant fitting students.
The College had withheld the results of the 93 final students, who wrote their examination in March, on suspicion that they cheated after they scored extraordinarily high marks which were supposedly out of sync with the current regional trends.
In his ruling, Justice Chinamora absolved the students of the cheating allegations. He said:
<blockquote>It appears that candidates were penalised for the simple reason that they were expected to fail, without taking into account the possibility that they had confounded expectations for reasons other than cheating, for an example, preparing well for the examinations.</blockquote>
The students had petitioned the High Court to force the College to release their results and bar <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Higher_Education_Examination_Council" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Higher Education Examination Council (Hexco)</a> from ordering a re-write of the examinations.
