Former ZANU PF Mashonaland West chairman Temba Mliswa has warned that the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) risks becoming a mercenary unit that can be paid to fight private battles.
Mliswa made these comments following the recent arrest of Owen Madondo, also known as DJ Ollah 7, for alleged cyberbullying. 
The allegations stemmed from remarks made by guest Mukudzei Chatsama, better known as Holy Ten, during a podcast, which Mudiwa Hood claimed caused him distress and humiliation.
However, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) decided not to pursue charges after determining that Madondo, as the podcast host, did not intend to harass or bully. 
The NPA said the comments were made by Madondo’s guest during a live broadcast, and therefore, Madondo could not be held responsible for the alleged harm.
Mliswa, sharing a picture of himself with DJ Ollah 7, suggested that some police officers might have been bribed to make the arrest. He wrote on X:

We are currently experiencing a wave of monied people paying the police to arrest their supposed adversaries.
The ZRP are reducing themselves into a mercenary unit which anyone can pay to fight private battles. We have seen the same with the Chimombe and Mpofu case.
The easy target would be to say it’s politics but it’s not. It’s simply someone with money using it to wage a private battle!

Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu have been in prison since June 2024, following their arrest on allegations of fraud. 
The arrest came after clashing with Wicknell Chivayo, during which they leaked conversations in which Chivayo allegedly boasted of having President Emmerson Mnangagwa in his pocket.

Mliswa Says ZRP Risks Becoming Mercenaries After DJ Ollah 7's Arrest

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) on Monday, 24 March, opted not to pursue charges against Owen Madondo, better known as DJ Ollah 7, following his recent arrest in connection with alleged cyberbullying.
The allegations were raised by Mudiwa Hood, who claimed that remarks made by guest Mukudzei Chatsama, also known as Holy Ten, during a podcast caused him distress and humiliation.
Despite this, the NPA concluded that Madondo, in his capacity as the podcast host, did not exhibit the intent to harass or bully.
The comments in question were made by his guest during a live broadcast, which led the NPA to determine that Madondo was not responsible for the alleged harm. Said the NPA:

While the complainant expressed a wish not to pursue the matter further, the Prosecutor General has the final authority in deciding whether charges are withdrawn, in accordance with NPAZ Prosecutorial Guidelines. 
Victims of crime or complainants do not have the power to end criminal court processes this decision rests with the Prosecutor General.

During a podcast interview with DJ Ollah 7, Holy Ten made explosive allegations against Hood, born Ian Mutandwa, and Uebert Angel, Zimbabwe’s Ambassador-at-Large to Europe and the Americas.
He claimed that Hood took a gun and condoms to church and that Angel repeatedly asked him to find young women for his personal pleasure.
Holy Ten also recalled an incident during a visit to Angel’s church, where he alleges that Hood showed him a gun and then revealed a stash of condoms from his bag. He said:

I swear I will never go back to that church again. You can even ask my crew. Those people are not who they claim to be.
I was first inspired to pray by Uebert Angel. I used to watch his sermons. But for him to turn into someone who asks me to find ‘slay queens’ was the worst thing ever.

Earlier reports suggested that Hood withdrew the charges after both Holy Ten and DJ Ollah 7 issued apologies.
However, the truth is that the State declined to prosecute DJ Ollah 7 because no crime was committed on his part.

Hip-hop artist Holy Ten has made explosive allegations against Zimbabwe’s Ambassador-at-Large to Europe and the Americas, Uebert Angel, accusing the self-proclaimed prophet of being a womaniser who frequently asked him to find women for his pleasures.
In a shocking revelation during his recent appearance on DJ Ollah’s Podcast, Holy Ten also alleged that both Angel and musician Mudiwa Hood brought guns and condoms into the church.
Holy Ten claimed that Angel regularly propositioned him to find young women for the “man of the cloth” to engage with, and he further said that he would never return to Angel’s church, branding the preacher a charlatan who preys on vulnerable congregants. Said Holy Ten:

Two years ago, Uebert Angel found himself at the centre of controversy following his exposure in the four-part Al Jazeera documentary, “The Gold Mafia”.
This investigative series uncovered widespread gold smuggling and money laundering operations in Southern Africa, shedding light on the involvement of high-ranking officials and influential businesspeople.
In the documentary, Angel was portrayed as a central figure in these illicit activities, with secret footage capturing him boasting about his ability to launder over US$1 billion through his diplomatic immunity.

A rapper named Holy Ten accused Uebert Angel of being a womanizer and corrupting the church. He said that Angel asked him to find women for his pleasure and brought guns and condoms into the church. ZANU PF has asserted that no one possesses the authority to cancel artists in Zimbabwe, countering the increasing calls on social media for people and promoters to distance themselves from artists who were seen dining with political elites from the ruling party. Notably, artists like Holy Ten, Ricky Fire, Poptain, Enzo Ishall, DJ Levels, Kicky Badass, Sandra Ndebele, and Ras Pompy have openly endorsed ZANU PF and its presidential candidate, Emmerson Mnangagwa, ahead of the forthcoming August 23 harmonised elections.
Following their endorsement of the ruling party, Larry Kays, who promotes Zimbabwean artists in America, cancelled music shows involving Holy Ten and Enzo Ishall. He said:

Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono predicted that the artistes who are endorsing the ruling party will lose followers. He said:

Artists like Andy Brown lost their huge followers because of their endorsement and dalliance with ZANU PF. Playing music at ZANUPF rallies is one thing because it is professional work, endorsing it is a whole different ballgame for many people.

Responding to calls to cancel the artistes, the ZANU PF party said:

The post faced criticism on social media, with users accusing the ruling party of hypocrisy and double standards. They accused the ruling party and certain government officials of heavily criticising Winky D’s album, Eureka Eureka, leading to its alleged ban on state-run radios. Social media users questioned why ZANU PF attacked Winky D for allegedly delving into politics while simultaneously protecting those who were aligned with the ruling party. 
Some commentators pointed out examples of artistes whose careers took a downturn after showing support for the ruling party. They mentioned Bryan Mteki, Tambaoga, Simon Chimbetu, Andy Brown, and Chinx Chingaira as musicians who faced negative consequences after being associated with ZANU PF. They said aligning with the party can have detrimental effects on an artistes’ success. 
  
Following the criticism, musician Ricky Fire, who was among the artistes attacked for attending a ZANU PF event, defended his decision to attend. He stated that it is unfair for someone to judge him for simply having lunch with people who may not be favoured by others. Ricky Fire emphasised that he prioritizes his family and their well-being. He asserted that he has the freedom to make his own choices, and he does not concern himself with seeking approval or gaining popularity on social media. He said his focus remains on his family and their real-life experiences. A few months ago, Ricky Fire attended Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) events and was seen wearing the party’s regalia as a sign of endorsing the Nelson Chamisa-led outfit.
The criticism faced by artistes associated with ZANU PF, while those aligned with CCC (Citizens Coalition for Change) are not being attacked, is largely based on the belief that ZANU PF is responsible for the socio-economic and political challenges in the country. Endorsing the party is seen as endorsing the issues such as unemployment, inflation, human rights violations, corruption, and looting that are associated with it.

It is up to Zimbabweans to make a decision and choice if they want to continue supporting the music of an artist who supports a regime that has jailed its opponents like Job Sikhala without conviction. It is up to Zimbabweans to choose whether they will support the music of a man who wants their economic pain to continue. It is up to Zimbabweans to choose whether they will support the music of a man who doesn’t care about the unnecessary lives lost to easily treatable diseases like cancer. 
Zimbabweans have to be serious about their choices regarding supporting people and institutions that are sending kids to bed on empty stomachs. Zimdancehall chanter, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Winky_D">Winky D,</a> born <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Winky_D">Wallace Chirumiko</a>, was Saturday night dragged off stage by police while performing in <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Chitungwiza">Chitungwiza.</a>
The incident happened moments after he performed Ibotso, a song from his latest album, Eureka Eureka.
Police officers, some in plain clothes, surrounded Winky D before they dragged him off stage just after 10 PM, according to <a href="https://www.zimlive.com/police-shut-down-winky-ds-performance-in-chitungwiza/">ZimLive</a>.
Thousands of fans at Dam View Chikwanha Blue Roof Grill and Bar sang ‘Siyayi Gaffa’ in support of the Musarova Bigman hitmaker.
Winky D was sharing the stage with several other musicians including Saintflowmusic and Tocky Vibes.
The 40-year-old’s recent songs reflect Zimbabweans’ daily struggles including poverty, corruption and unemployment.
His songs have created enmity between himself and authorities in Harare who believe he is a mercenary sent to champion the regime change agenda through music.

Holy Ten and Winky D collaborated on Ibotso, a song from Winky D’s latest offering, Eureka.
The song has been interpreted to be political, with a lobby group <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Economic_Empowerment_Group">Economic Empowerment Group </a>even saying <a href="https://www.google.com/amp/s/news.pindula.co.zw/2023/01/03/winky-d-holy-ten-collabo-winky-d-must-be-banned-from-performing-in-zimbabwe/amp/">Winky D should be banned from performing in Zimbabwe, </a>because of the song.
Holy Ten, who has previously said <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/eureka-holy-ten-says-he-regrets-working-with-winky-d/">he regrets working with Winky D,</a> dissed the Kambuzuma-raised chanter while <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/he-is-a-snake-longer-than-his-dreadlocks-holy-ten-disses-winky-d/">speaking on an online show The Episode. He said:</a>

Winky D Fans Unfollow Holy Ten Over "Snake" Remarks

Music producer and promoter DJ Fantan, whose real name is Arnold Kamudyariwa has accused Winky D of throwing young musicians under the bus by allegedly using them on his latest album to propagate a political message and then dumping them.
Winky D recently released a new album titled “Eureka” on which he collaborated with several young artistes, among them Holy Ten on the song “Ibotso”.
Holy Ten has since said he regrets collaborating with Winky on the song which he said has been politicised.
Without mentioning Winky D by name, DJ Fantan said he was pained by the fact that he groomed the young musicians who were allegedly used and then dumped by the Zimdancehall chanter.
He said it was wrong for Winky D to use the young musicians under the guise of assisting them knowing he had a hidden agenda.
Fantan claimed that Winky D is currently in Dubai with his family enjoying the funds he was given for the political project, in an apparent reference to “Ureka”. He wrote on Facebook:

DJ Fantan Accuses Winky D Of Ruining Young Artistes' Careers For Personal Gain

Zimbabwean hip hop music star <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Holy_Ten">Holy Ten</a>, whose real name is Mukudzei Chitsama, released a new album on 6 January 2023 amid criticism for “regretting” his recent collaboration with Winky D.
The 23-year-old artiste collaborated with Winky D on his song, Ibotso, but later said he regretted it, claiming the song had been politicised.
Holy Ten’s critics said he feared a backlash from ZANU PF from which he is allegedly benefiting.
Following his “regret”, President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesperson, George Charamba, seemed to suggest that Holy Ten indeed benefits from the “system” when he tweeted:

You are wholly forgiven Holy Ten. Next time usatize chikoro mfana Gumi. Chihiro chakakosha. Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo.

The criticism, however, did not stop Holy Ten from releasing a new album titled Book of Malachi which he launched in Harare at Wood Pub &amp; Grill.
Pictures that emerged on social media the day after the launch showed that the event was attended by a huge crowd.
The album is comprised of songs Zvivindi, The book of Malachai, Gomba Reshumba, God is not on Holiday, Deep down Zaka, Miscommunications, Aba Father, Crown and Can’t Get the crown.
Holy Ten has also collaborated with Michael Magz and a South African Hip-Hop and RnB Brother Duo MajorSteez on the song God is not on holiday.
The song talks about the power of prayer saying: “The only power that I know is prayer.”

Shadaya claimed that DJ Ollah invites “dubious celebs” only on his After Drive show.
He suggested that the After Drive show thrives on scandals and challenged the radio presenter to invite reputable characters to the show such as musician Winky D. Tweeted Shadaya:

DJ Ollah 7 recently invited rapper, songwriter, and producer Holy Ten to the show after he said he was regretting working with <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Winky_D">Winky D</a> in <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/eureka-zimbabwe-is-a-crime-scene-brezh-malabas-analysis-of-winky-ds-ibotsho/">Ibotso</a>, a song which is on Winky’s latest album titled Eureka.
The musician claimed the song had been sensationalised by commentators, mainly journalists.
The personalities who have been hosted by DJ Ollah 7 include Tsotsi, Matsanga, Ginimbi Lite, Levels, Gamu, Mambo Munhumutapa, Moira Knight, and Tapiwa Freddy, to mention but a few.

The Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet George Charamba said that musician Holy Ten, whose real name is Mukudzei Chitsama, has been forgiven after he apologised for allegedly criticising the government.
This comes after <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Holy_Ten">Holy Ten</a> said he was regretting working with <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Winky_D">Winky D</a> in <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/eureka-zimbabwe-is-a-crime-scene-brezh-malabas-analysis-of-winky-ds-ibotsho/">Ibotso</a>, a song which is on Winky’s latest album titled Eureka.
The musician claimed the song had been sensationalised by commentators, mainly journalists. In a Twitter post, Holy Ten said:

Also posting on the microblogging site, Charamba said Chitsama had been wholly forgiven but warned him never to criticize the government, saying “the feeding trough is important”. Wrote Charamba:

The song, Ibotso, has been viewed by some as depicting Zimbabwe as a long-decayed society in which the residents naively hope things will miraculously change for the better.
Brezhnev Malaba, a prominent journalist, in <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/eureka-zimbabwe-is-a-crime-scene-brezh-malabas-analysis-of-winky-ds-ibotsho/">his analysis of the song</a>, said Zimbabwe is a crime scene. He said:
