A 34-year-old pastor with the Apostolic Faith Mission of Zimbabwe has been convicted by a magistrate of incest and sentenced to 30 months in prison.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the pastor, who has not been named to protect his victim repeatedly had sexual relations with his stepdaughter between 2022 and 2024. Said the NPA:

The court heard that between 2022 and 2024, the offender repeatedly had sexual relations with his stepdaughter, who is now 18-years old, at different locations. The illicit affair began in 2022 when the victim’s mother left her in the offender’s custody. They first had sexual relations in his bedroom while they were watching videos. The abuse continued over the years, leading to a pregnancy in 2023, which he later arranged to be terminated.

A concerned member of the public tipped off the police about the affair leading to the clergyman’s arrest. He was convicted and sentenced for incest.

AFM Pastor Sentenced To 30 Months In Jail For Bedding Stepdaughter

The State has applied for an order to terminate the pregnancy of a schoolgirl who was repeatedly raped and impregnated by her father in Harare.
As reported by <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/state-applies-for-the-termination-of-teenage-schoolgirls-pregnancy-girl-16-was-repeatedly-raped-by-her-father/">H-Metro</a>, the father repeatedly raped his 16-year-old daughter, and now the State wants to terminate her pregnancy.
The pregnancy was discovered after the girl returned to her boarding school last month.
The father appeared in court on Thursday and has been kept in custody.
The court heard that in October 2024, he took his daughter from her mother’s house outside Harare, pretending she would stay with her aunt. Instead, he kept her at his workplace in Waterfalls.
In November, he entered her bedroom and raped her multiple times until she told her brother, who confronted the father.
The father threatened to kill her if she told anyone else.
The truth came out when the girl returned to school for the new term and fell sick. She was taken to Mutero Hospital, where it was discovered she was pregnant.
The Termination of Pregnancy Act allows the termination of pregnancy a pregnancy if it endangers the woman’s life, poses a risk of permanent harm, or if the pregnancy is a result of rape or incest with a court order.
The termination must be approved by two doctors and the medical superintendent of a designated hospital.

The State wants a court order to end the pregnancy of a 16-year-old girl who was raped by her father. The father took her from her mother's house and raped her at his workplace, threatening to kill her if she told anyone. The girl fell sick at school and was found pregnant when taken to the hospital. The law allows termination of pregnancy if it endangers the girl's life, causes harm, or is a result of rape with a court order. Two doctors and a hospital superintendent must approve the termination.

State Seeks Court Order To Terminate Pregnancy Of Schoolgirl (16) Raped By Her Father

A 52-year-old man accused of raping his stepdaughter avoided jail time after she told the court that she had consented to their sexual encounters, claiming she had seduced him into it, reported <a href="https://www.sundaynews.co.zw/stepdaughter-seduces-father-saves-him-from-rape-sentence/">The Sunday News</a>.
The man, from Epping Forest in Nyamandlovu, Matabeleland North Province, was originally charged with rape.
However, the charge was changed to having sexual relations within a prohibited family relationship after the stepdaughter, referred to as an adult but whose age was not specified, admitted that she was in love with him and agreed to the sexual activities.
As the main witness, she told the court that she had approached her stepfather and told him about a dream she had in which they were intimate. This dream led to their sexual interactions, as he gave in to her advances.
In his ruling, Bulawayo regional magistrate Joseph Mabeza explained how the stepdaughter’s testimony influenced the change in charges. Said Mabeza:

The State led evidence from the complainant. The witness, however, gave statements that frustrated the State case as she admitted that she consented to all the sexual intercourse you had with her. Instead of being charged with rape, the court had to alter the charge.
In mitigation, the man pleaded with the court to give him a non-custodial sentence as he was the family’s breadwinner with five school-going children including the stepdaughter’s two children.
He said he was tempted by his stepdaughter’s advancements and acted irresponsibly.

Prosecutor Dominic Moyo told the court that between 2020 and 2021, in the bush at Epping Forest in Nyamandlovu, the man had sex with his adult stepdaughter without her consent.
Moyo added that a medical report related to the case could be presented in court as evidence.
Even though the charge was changed, Magistrate Mabeza sentenced the man to 24 months in prison for having sexual intercourse within a prohibited degree of relationship.
If he had continued to face the original rape charges, he could have received a sentence of 10 years or more.

A man was accused of raping his stepdaughter, but she said she seduced him. She told the court she agreed to the sexual encounters. Woman Claims Rape After Seducing Stepfather

A 30-year-old man and his 17-year-old aunt from Chimanimani, appeared before the Mutare Magistrate’s Court charged with sexual intercourse within the prohibited degrees of the relationship, as defined in Section 75(2)(f) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), on an unknown date in January 2024, the older accused, the 30-year-old man, returned home and found his 17-year-old aunt, the second accused, in the kitchen hut.
He then offered her US$1 in exchange for having sexual intercourse with him, and she accepted the proposition.
The two accused persons then agreed to keep the matter a secret and engaged in consensual sexual intercourse twice that evening, while the rest of the family was inside the main house, which is separate from the kitchen hut.
The matter only came to light when the 17-year-old aunt discovered that she had become pregnant as a result of unlawful sexual encounters with her much older relative.
The Mutare Magistrate’s Court sentenced both accused persons to 12 months imprisonment. 
However, 6 months of the sentence were suspended for 5 years, and a further 6 months were suspended on the condition that the accused individuals complete 210 hours of community service.

Nephew (30), Aunt (17) Jailed For Incest

An ex-convict from Masvingo, who was convicted of raping his daughter and spent six years in prison, is accused of raping her again and impregnating her soon after his release.
Richard Mazviyo, 50, of Mushaviri Village 4 in Gutu, has allegedly been sexually abusing his daughter, Beaular Mazviyo, for about a decade now.
Beaular, who is 23 years old, is dumb.
Fellow villagers accuse Mazviyo of sexually abusing her daughter since she was in Grade Seven.
Speaking to <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/ex-convict-takes-in-daughter-as-wife/">H-Metro</a>, Mazviyo, however, denied the allegations saying the villagers are jealous of his farming prowess and want him to be sent to prison again. He said:

I never raped my daughter as alleged but all the villagers are against me. I do not know why, maybe, it’s a bad spell.
I got arrested in 2014 when I was accused of raping my daughter.
I was convicted and sentenced to 12 years.
Upon my release, after serving six years, my daughter got pregnant, as well as my wife, and everyone accused me of being responsible for my daughter’s pregnancy.
I was arrested and spent some months at remand prison but they failed to find evidence to convict me.

Mazviyo claimed that his daughter’s disability was caused by his three aunties who died on the same day. He said:

She is my daughter and I do not want any man to marry her because she is dumb.
My daughter is a hard worker and I do not feel it’s good to allow anyone to separate us.
People were quick to accuse me of causing my daughter’s dumbness, it’s not true.

Villagers and my relatives have been accusing me of sexually abusing my daughter but none of them have evidence of such allegations.

Mazviyo’s wife, Winnie Gebe (46), said she was deeply hurt by what her daughter has been made to go through. She said:

My tears are never dry due to what I am going through and witnessing day and night.
One of these days my husband woke up, left me and went to knock at the door where our daughter sleeps.
I followed and confronted him about it.
He was quick to defend himself saying he wanted to get some fire to light his cigarette.

Beaular was 14 when she became dumb, the same year she was raped by her father. Mazviyo reportedly threatens people that he does not hesitate to return to prison after killing whoever gets involved in his family’s issues.

Man (50) Accused Of Taking Daughter As A Second Wife

A Rusape man who was last year fined five cattle by a community court for dating his son’s wife was last week fined two cattle after it emerged that they did not terminate the illicit sexual relationship.
Isaac Marowa of Masvosva Village was brought before Chief Makoni’s court for sleeping with his son, Bartholomew Marowa’s wife, Forget Marowa.
In February last year, Isaac was found guilty of dating his daughter-in-law. This was after his son, Bartholomew, found love messages between the two in Forget’s cellphone.
After the betrayal, Bartholomew sent his wife packing but later forgave her and took her back.
However, he discovered that the two were still dating and sending a lot of love messages to each other.
Narrating his case before the community court recently, Bartholomew said Forget had saved his father’s number as YYU in her phone.
He said that in one of the messages, they were planning to meet in Rusape for some “quality time”. Said Bartholomew:

This is my second time coming before this court, suing my father for dating my wife. He is still seeing my wife.
In March 2023, I scrolled my wife’s phone and came across a contact saved as YYU. She was exchanging love messages with that contact.
They were also planning to travel to Rusape to have some quality time. I made some inquiries, only to realise that YYU was my father. Both my wife and father denied dating.

Isaac, however, denied ever dating his daughter-in-law adding that his son is just suspicious and does not have any evidence.
He also revealed that Bartholomew set his house on fire, accusing him of sleeping with Forget.
Forget also denied dating her father-in-law and claimed that there was no way she could ever communicate with Isaac as her phone was always with her husband.
Despite the denials, Chief Makoni’s court found Isaac guilty of adultery and fined him two cattle.
Isaac was also found guilty of incest and was fined one beast.
He was also ordered to hand over two goats to his son as the cost of the lawsuit.

Rusape Man Fined For A Second Time For Bedding Daughter-in-law, Again

A Zimunya man who had a sexual relationship with his biological sisters was recently exposed after a child conceived during one of the incestuous relationships demanded to know his father.
Alice Matasva and her brother, Zuva Matasva, who is long dead have a son, Nicholas Matasva (not real name), who is now in his 30s.
The <a href="https://www.manicapost.co.zw/stinking-family-secret-exposed-brother-beds-all-sisters/">Manica Post</a> reports that Nicholas claimed he started suspecting that one of his uncles was his father after consulting prophets and traditional healers due to some unexplainable problems he was facing in his life.
He recently dragged his mother (Alice Matasva), and her brothers, Crispen Chirara, Newton Matasva, Shupai Matasva, Denfer Matasva and William Matasva to Headman Chigodora’s court. He said:

I visited spiritual healers and was told that the challenges I am encountering in life are a result of the secrecy behind the identity of my father.
I approached my mother and asked her to explain to me my true identity, but she refused.
That is when the spiritual healers told me that my late uncle was my biological father and that my mother had an affair with him.
My mother remained adamant about not revealing the truth, but it seemed as if the whole family knew about it.
My aunt once confessed that it was common knowledge that my uncle slept with all his sisters.

At Headman Chigodora’s court, Alice Matasva then confessed that her brother was the father of her son. Alice said:

It is true that I slept with my brother some years ago. I was so young and did not know whether it was appropriate or not.
However, I once tried to tell my elder sisters and they told me that it was normal as our brother was also sleeping with them.
My mother condoned it and so I thought it was normal. However, I hid it from my son all these years because I knew it would haunt him.

Newton, however, said he did not know that his brother slept with their sisters. He said:
<blockquote>
We have all been waiting for the truth to come out because Nicholas once threatened to shoot us before killing himself.
He is a trained person and we were afraid that he would act on his word if his mother failed to tell him the truth.
We are glad that the cat is now out of the bag, even though it is a bitter pill for us to swallow.

Headman Chigodora said there is a need for DNA tests to be conducted within the Matasva family as there was a high probability Zuva had impregnated his other sisters. Said Headman Chigodora:

If the family gives us the nod, we want to conduct DNA tests within the family because most of the Matasva sisters had children out of wedlock.
If it is true that he was sleeping with all his sisters, then he could have sired a number of children with them. We need to find out the truth.

The matter appeared before Chief Zimunya’s court last Sunday where Alice admitted that her brother impregnated her.
The community court adjourned the matter to 5 March.
Meanwhile, Headman Chigodora’s court fined the elderly Alice three beasts for makunakuna (incest).

Brother Beds All Sisters... Family Secret Exposed Several Years After His Death

A 49-year-old man from Victoria Falls and his 34-year-old stepdaughter have been arrested for incest.
Siphilanzima Sibanda of Kachechete village BH36 Chidobe and his stepdaughter Thuleleni Dube were hauled before the courts jointly charged with having sexual intercourse within a prohibited degree of relationship.
The two briefly appeared before Victoria Falls magistrate Godswill Mavenge and the matter was rolled over to Thursday.
Sibanda and Dube were not been asked to plead to the charge.
Allegations are that Sibanda and Dube, who reside at the same homestead, started the relationship in June last year.
That was when Sikhohlisiwe Mpofu, the mother to Dube, travelled to Bulawayo and stayed there for three months. Said, prosecutors:

Sometime on a date unknown but during the period extending from 1 June 2022 to 2 January 2023 and at Kachechete village, Chidobe under Chief Mvuthu, Siphilanzima Sibanda had sexual intercourse with his stepdaughter Thuleleni Dube several times on different occasions with her consent.

When Mpofu travelled to Bulawayo to visit her sister, she left the two alone with Dube’s minor daughter.
It is alleged that when she returned, she observed that her husband’s behaviour had changed.
Mpofu reportedly caught the two red-handed in a compromising position on 27 December in a bush.

A Rusape man was last week fined five cattle by a traditional court for having a sexual relationship with his son’s wife.
Isaac Marova of Masvosva Village appeared before Chief Makoni’s court for allegedly sleeping with his daughter-in-law on several occasions before the affair was recently exposed.
The two reportedly dated for about three months before the affair was exposed. They hid their incestuous relationship by using secret cellphone lines for communication.
The woman, whose identity was not revealed in court, has since left her husband, Bartholomew Marova.
The relationship came to light after Bartholomew discovered some romantic messages his wife had sent and received from his father. He told the court:
<blockquote>
I started suspecting that my wife was up to something because I would come across deleted messages on her phone.
She was using a number I didn’t know and again texting a number that I didn’t know at that time.
I later saw some romantic messages on my wife’s phone from the same number.
I later discovered that the other number was my father’s. I confronted him, but he flatly denied dating my wife.

Isaac denied ever dating his daughter-in-law and refuted communicating with her through the phone.
When Chief Makoni ordered the parties to retrieve their phone records from the local network service provider, Econet Wireless, Isaac said he had no problem with it.
However, when Marova’s phone records were presented before the court, it showed that he texted and called his daughter-in-law daily between October 2021 to January 2022.
He later admitted to dating his son’s wife, saying “I have nothing to say. I am sorry for what happened”.
Chief Makoni castigated Isaac for his wayward behaviour and ordered him to pay a fine.
He was fined five cattle, of which three will go to his son and two to the chief’s court.

Rusape Man Fined Five Cattle For Bedding His Daughter-in-law

A man from Rushinga District, Mashonaland Central Province, has been fined five beasts by a traditional court for incest after he was caught red-handed between the sheets with his son’s wife.
Munashe Kahonde was caught by his son Peter Mafuta in the latter’s house in bed with his daughter-in-law.
Kahonde was brought to Headman Chipara’s Community Court after being caught committing adultery with his daughter-in-law in her matrimonial home.
Reports suggest that Kahonde was trapped after there was a suspicion about his marital affair with his daughter-in-law.
H-Metro was told that Kahonde, a nurse aid at Chimandau Clinic, hid under Mafuta’s bed for the night when Mafuta came back home. Said Mafuta:
<blockquote>The day Kahonde fell into a snare, he was betrayed by his shoes that were found at the corner inside the bedroom.
My wife refused to admit but I rummaged the bedroom until I found him in stealth under the bed.</blockquote>
Kahonde received a tongue-lashing from Headman Chipara who said the man’s conduct was against social customs, values and ethos.
This was actually Kahonde’s second time to be dragged to his Court with such type of cases, the headman revealed.
Kahonde had already lost more than seven beasts within a year paying victims of his adultery cases.
Headman Chipara ordered him to pay five beasts – three for Mafuta and two for traditional authority for the incest case.
