Here are the key improvements when we compare the A80 to last year’s A70:

Other things, have remained largely the same. Noteworthy is the processor, which has not been upgraded. It’s still the Unisoc T603, so if you have used the A70, don’t expect any performance improvements  with the A80.

The 128GB version of the A80 is priced more than the 128GB version of the A70. It’s now retailing for between $105 and $1115 in itel shops in Zimbabwe. This is slightly more expensive than  the A70- which weas retailing for between $95 and $105.

itel has launched a new phone called A80 in Zimbabwe, which is the successor to the popular A70. The A80 has lots of storage and RAM for a low price of under $100. It has improved camera and phone size, more RAM, and runs on Android 14. The price is slightly higher than the A70, ranging from $105 to $115. The A80 is recommended as a budget phone for basic use, like a second phone, for children's school work, or as a simple device for parents. Keep in mind it may not be very fast.

That record is yet to be beaten, and that has also made the A70 relatively more popular than its successor. Still, it’s not as popular as the S23.
At the end the S23 is a more capable device on many other fronts compared to the itel A70. 
<h2>Reduction in price</h2>
As with all phones after release, the price has continued to go down as newer phones are released. From a about $120 at release, the itel S23 now ranges below $100.
This affordability contributes to its popularity. While the prices of other phones have reduced slowly, the reduction in price for the S23 has been drastic. Even though it’s a more power phone, it’s now priced less than the itel A70.

itel S23 is the most popular itel smartphone in Zimbabwe for over a year. It has a better camera than other phones in its price range. People are still interested in it even though newer models have been released. The higher end version, itel S23+, is also popular. Another phone, itel A70, was the first to have 256GB for less than $100. However, it is not as popular as the S23. itel S23 Remains Zimbabwe's Favourite Itel Smartphone More Than Year Later

It’s gaming theme season for itel. After released the game themed RS4 earlier in the year, itel has now released another phone whose design is definitely a gaming one – the <a href="https://itel.co.zw/p65/">itel P65</a>. The phone is expected to be launched in Zimbabwe this week!

<h2>Performance</h2>
On the specs front there are huge improvements on the performance of the phone owing to an upgrade of the processor from the Unisoc T606 to the Unisoc T615. It’s still an entry to mid level processor but you get significantly better power efficiency which means your phone battery will last much longer.
It also promises smoother experience using the phone and better game playing too.
Both the T606 and T615 processors are octa-core, but the T615 is just a little faster.
<h2>Other Improvements</h2>
There are also improvements on the size of the phone. The P65 is a bigger phone with 6.7 inch display compared to the P55’s 6.6 inches.
The big difference though comes on the refresh speed of the display which is now 120Hz compared to the P55’s 90Hz. This should make for a smoother experience using the phone as well as on the gaming front.
The Android version on the P65 is now 14.
All these improvements make for a worth upgrade if you already have a p55 or, if you’re like me are on the P40 plus (I love that 7000mAh Battery)

Itel P55 range full specs

The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/market/itel-power-55-p55-128gb-8gb-22-2023122714513826305/">itel P55</a> has launched in Zimbabwe. The phone was launched at an event in Harare attended by brand’s officials, itel distributors, and dealers in Zimbabwe.
This is the latest phone in the <a href="https://itel.co.zw/">itel</a> P Series feature major upgrades to the memory, camera, charging and general design of the phone. For the first time, an itel phone will have 5G network version.
The phone has been available in Zimbabwe since 27 December 2023.

The battery and charging on the P55+ is one major improvement. The specs suggest the phone will be charged from empty to completion within 1 hours, 10 minutes and that changes have been made to prevent over-heating.
Nyangaidenzvi said one standout improvement are the charging features:

Here’s information on the price. There are 2 version of the phone and so 2 different prices:

<h2>What is the Warranty on the itel S23+</h2>
The S23+ comes with 12 months standard itel Warranty. This means for all manufacture defects that you find or experience within 12 months of buying the phone, you can have that defect fixed, or where needed the whole phone replaced.
Please note though that when you drop the phone, this is not a manufacture defect so you would be able to claim against it. The same goes with other things like it dropping into water and malfunctioning as a result.
Needless to say, when you open the inside of the phone, you will automatically void your warranty. It is therefore crucial that you take it to a CarlCare centre where itels are fixed on warranty if you notice a problem. Itel S23+ With Curved Screen To Be Released In Zimbabwe

The latest budget phone from itel is now available in Zimbabwe and it’s the itel A60s.
For the first time in Zimbabwe, itel has released a phone with 128GB storage memory and 4GB RAM which is priced at less than $100. The phone also has RAM extension for an extra 4GB, to make a total 8GB. It comes with 4G LTE.
The phone is now available at itel in the country. The A60s is a higher capacity version of the standard A60 which was released in May but has 32GB storage and 2GB RAM.
The release of the A60s also follows the release of the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/market/itel-s23-22-20230608161024425383/">itel S23 earlier this month which was priced at $119</a>. 
Before the A60s, smartphones that had 128GB of storage were generally priced at more than $110. Itel has therefore broken new ground as far as the capacity and price of entry-level smartphones.

The price is very good for a phone that comes with 128GB of storage. This is ample storage to install and store a lot of stuff without worrying about running of out space.
The RAM is also a lot for its price which means faster responses and no chances of freezing while in normal use. 
At 5000 mAh the battery is also a positive thing about this phone.
<h2>Cons</h2>
The weakest part of this phone is the processor. It’s an 8-core chipset that was announced on November 27, 2018, and is manufactured using a 28-nanometer process technology.
The camera is also very low quality at 8 megapixels on the back.
<h2>Conclusion</h2>
The itel A60s is great for someone who wants a lot of storage and general responsiveness of the phone. However, it’s not for anyone looking for a good camera.

Itel A60s: 128GB Storage, 4GB RAM and Priced Under $100 in Zimbabwe

Last week, itel launched the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/market/itel-p40-plus-22-20230611105441250523/">P40 Plus</a>. Itel has just released another flavour of the P40. 7000 mAh Battery. The itel P40 Plus is the latest in the line-up

Earlier in the week, Pindula wrote that <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/06/05/itel-to-launch-8gb-ram-50mp-camera-phone-the-s23-selling-for-less-than-140/">itel was on the verge of launching its latest phone</a>, the itel S23, in India.
It turns out the company was already preparing for a global release.
The itel S23, the highest-capacity itel phone, is now available in Zimbabwe. Itel is marketing the phone as “Super Smooth and Colorful”
The phone comes with 8GB RAM, which is extended by another 8GB virtual RAM for a total 16GB RAM. The storage memory is 128GB. Of note is the camera which is a 50-megapixel camera. All this is coming at a price between $115 and $135 in Zimbabwe.
The phone also comes in a 4GB RAM version which is priced between $105 and $120.

As you can see from the comparison table, the phones are quite similar, with the exception of 3 things where the Itel P40 is better.
<h2>Is the Itel P40 a better phone than the Tecno Pop 7 Pro</h2>
The answer is Yes.
The Itel p40 has a larger battery at 6000 mAh, compared to the Tecno’s 5000 mAh. The itel P40 battery also charges faster.
The Itel P40’s Unisoc SC9863A is a slightly better processor than the Tecno Pop 7 Pro’s Helio A22. This means the P40 is faster in general even though they are both entry-level processors.

Itel P40 and Tecno Pop 7 Pro Compared. Which one is better?

Itel is set to launch its highest RAM and Camera capacity budget phone later this month. The phone, called the Itel S23 will come with 8GB of RAM and another 8GB of extended RAM making it 16GB of RAM in total. it will also come with a 50-megapixel camera.
The phone will be launched in India on the Amazon platform later this June. According to a report by an Indian phone publication, <a href="https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/itel-s23-india-launch-timeline-specs-price-range/">91mobiles</a>, the phone will retail at a price between 8,000 and 9,000 Rupees.

It is not clear yet if itel will also be distributing the phone in Zimbabwe via official channels. If it does, the phone would likely retail between $120 and $140 given the Indian price. If the Itel S23 is not available via the official channels, then it will likely still be available via gray imports from India.

Itel To Launch 8GB RAM, 50MP Camera Phone, the S23. Selling For Less Than $140

ZESA electricity outages and load-shedding are still a big problem in Zimbabwe, so how long a battery phone lasts is very important. Worse, there are a lot of new residential suburbs where house owners do not have electricity installed at all.
Pindula has compiled a list of phones with the biggest batteries available here in Zimbabwe.
It is important to know however that having the biggest capacity battery does not automatically mean the longest-lasting battery. The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/05/18/tips-taking-care-of-your-phone-battery-so-it-lasts-longer/">battery life is affected by a lot of things</a>. A phone may have a very big battery mAh but poor power management. With Samsungs, for example, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has the same 5,000 mAh size battery as Galaxy S22 Ultra, but it lasts much longer because of its more power-efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
It is also common for budget mobile phones, such as itel and Tecno, to have higher battery-size lots of inbuilt apps always running that cannot be turned off. This uses more battery.

It’s the month of May and in the itel universe that means the launch of a new P series phone. The itel P40 is now available in Zimbabwe.
The P series in the itel lineup of phones is basically the flagship or top of the brand. What this means is that if you’re looking for the best itel phone available right now – this is it.
Yes, some will say that this is an entry-level phone compared to other brands. Indeed it is a budget phone, but it is the best of the itel brand budget phones.
 
<h2>Itel P40 Specs</h2>
The most striking thing about the P40 is its battery which is coming at 6000 mAh. This is a bigger battery than its predecessor which was 5000 mAh. Itel claims that this battery can last 3 days on a single charge. For those that eventually buy this phone, please comment below with your experience.
It also comes with bigger RAM (4GB option) and Memory (64GB) and now has 4G LTE.
Though 4GB is the actual RAM, you will find the box of this phone says it has 7GB. The other 3GB being added there virtual RAM. Virtual or Extended RAM just means the itel P40 utilizes its internal storage to provide additional RAM. This is a fairly common thing with smartphones these days. It makes the phone even faster.

The P40 is a successor to the Itel P38 which was launched in 2022. So yes, if you were planning to buy the p38, then this is a much better phone. Of course, the P38 makes sense in Zimbabwe if you’re getting it at a price of around $80.

There’s no information yet on the availability of the P40 Pro. The Pro version basically has more capacity than the standard version, so you can expect it to have maybe 6GB RAM and 128GB Memory, and to be priced somewhere between $120 and $130.

Itel P40, latest flagship now available in Zimbabwe. 6000 mAh battery, 64GB, 7GB RAM, 4G LTE

Data from global analytics company <a href="https://gs.statcounter.com/vendor-market-share/mobile/zimbabwe/#monthly-202201-202212-bar">StatCounter</a> shows that Samsung has continued to be the most popular phone brand in Zimbabwe in 2022.
Samsung mobile phones had 33% market share in the country. 
Huawei is a distant second with 21% market share. The third most popular device brand in Zimbabwe is iPhone, the Apple smartphone, which has 13% market share.
The third and Fourth most popular mobile phone brands are Itel and Tecno which have 11% and 6% market share respectively. Other notable but relatively less popular brands include Nokia, Xiaomi, and Infinix.
StatCounter is a web analytics service that claims to calculate stats on the basis of more than 5 billion page views per month, by people from all over the world onto some 1.5 million member sites. it’s one of the few companies globally that collates this data and makes it available to the public.
Given that the method of data collection considers phones that can connect to the internet, this leaves out basic and feature phones which are not designed for internet connectivity. There is some evidence that features phones are quite popular in Zimbabwe. Including them would likely change the ranking.
The picture of the data generally agrees with data from websites in Zimbabwe (specifically, Pindula and Techzim).
<h2>Popular Samsung Phones</h2>
According to that local data, the most popular Samsung phone in Zimbabwe in 2022 was the Samsung A12. This was followed by Samsung A21s, then Samsung A32, then A2 Core, the Samsung 10s, and Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Plus. 
Samsung phones are generally imported into the country as grey imports. These can be brand new as well as refurbished ones. Zimbabweans have generally shied away from buying from official Samsung channels due to high prices.

As for Huawei, the local data shows that the most popular model in 2022 was the P30 Lite. This is followed by the Y series devices Y9 Prime, Y5 Prime, Y5 Lite and Y7. There is also P20 Lite, P30 Pro, Honour 4x and Y9 but these are relatively less popular.

Itel Smartphones Available On Credit To Zimbabwe Civil Servants

In October, what is now its best phone ever, the <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/market/itel-s18-pro/">S18 Pro</a>.
The S18 Pro tops all the existing itel phones on capacity coming with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM.
The only phone that comes close is the existing <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/market/itel-p38-pro/">itel P38 Pro</a> whose RAM however only goes up to 2GB. Itel also says that the 4GB RAM on the S18 Pro can be extended via an update on the internet to 7GB.
We think this is a clever way to make the RAM appear to have increased but we don’t yet know how much faster the phone will be due to it. 
Itel is touting the phone as one made for selfie vlogging. This is just another way of saying it has a really advanced front selfie camera compared to other mobile phones in its category. The selfie camera comes with 32 megapixels, so yes, it ideally performs better taking selfie videos to post to WhatsApp status, Tiktok, and other such platforms.
The battery is also large at 5000 mAh. it should last more than a day on normal usage. 
The S18 Pro comes with 4G LTE connectivity, so in case there’s 4G signal where you are in the country, it should download and upload stuff very fast!

What is the fair price to pay for the S18 Pro?
This is the top itel phone right, better in features than the <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/itel-p38-pro-prices-in-zimbabwe-specs-full-features/">ruling P38 Pro</a>. In Zimbabwe, you should expect between $125 and $150 for the phone. At more than $150, you’re definitely overpaying and should consider shopping around.
Sometimes Itel Zimbabwe has specials (what they call Flash sales) and the retail price of such a phone can come down lower than $125.

If you love the Itel brand and it has worked for you, you definitely should consider this phone. It’s priced higher than all itel smartphones on the market, but it’s definitely worth it compared to other itels.
At 64GB storage, there’s lots of space to store your images and some videos. Also, enough space to put lots of movies to watch when you’re at home.
The 4GB RAM makes it a really fast phone for processing, and at its price, it’s a much better spend for your money than the current P38 Pro.
