A book by <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Edwin_Moyo">Edwin Masimba Moyo</a>, a former owner of <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Kondozi_Estates">Kondozi Estates</a> indicates the late former Information Minister Christopher Mushohwe, according to <a href="https://twitter.com/KingJayZim/status/1625143199810420738">King Jay @KingJayZim</a>. 
The book is titled “My Kondozi Story: The People’s Hope Pillaged.“
<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Kondozi_Estates">Kondozi Estates</a> was a farming business in <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Odzi" title="Odzi">Odzi</a> in the province of <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Manicaland" title="Manicaland">Manicaland</a>, which specialized in horticulture and would export produce to Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Marks &amp; Spencer and Waitrose in Europe among other places. 
The farm was majority owned by <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Edwin_Moyo" title="Edwin Moyo">Edwin Moyo</a> and minority by <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/index.php?title=Piet_de_Klerk&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1" title="Piet de Klerk (page does not exist)">Piet de Klerk</a>. Despite being owned by an indigenous African, Kondozi was invaded by ZANU PF politicians in April 2006. The farm was renamed <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/index.php?title=Beverly_Hills_Estate&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1" title="Beverly Hills Estate (page does not exist)">Beverly Hills Estates.</a>
Edwin Moyo who is an entrepreneur, founder and owner of Rolex Fresh Exports, an agri-food company involved in growing, processing, handling, logistics and marketing of fruits and vegetables, described how <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Christopher_Mushohwe">Christopher Mushohwe</a> and <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Didymus_Mutasa">Didymus Mutasa</a> thwarted the hope of about 15 000 black Zimbabweans dependent on the thriving horticultural business.
In the book, as reported by <a href="https://twitter.com/KingJayZim/status/1625143199810420738">King Jay @KingJayZim</a>, Moyo indicated that Mutasa, then Agriculture minister <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Joseph_Made">Joseph Made</a> and former Manicaland governor <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Mike_Nyambuya">Mike Nyambuya</a> took over Kondozi and surrendered it to Mushohwe, who literally ran it down.

Moyo claimed the siege was done without President <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Robert_Mugabe">Robert Mugabe</a>’s knowledge, with Mushohwe and Mutasa employing all tactics to bar traditional chiefs opposed to the invasion from seeking an audience with the veteran leader. Moyo wrote:

More than 5 000 workers, out-growers and other businesses were displaced and lost their livelihoods in order to resettle one minister.
</blockquote>
Moyo narrates how a group of traditional chiefs from Marange had hired buses to Harare to meet Vice-President Joseph Msika in a bid to have the decision on Kondozi reversed, but were foiled by Didymus Mutasa and Chris Mushohwe. He said:

When Chris Mushohwe heard of the planned lobbying, he threatened to cancel the road permit of any bus company that would carry the chiefs to Harare. He was then Transport minister. 
</blockquote>
Moyo also claimed that his efforts to seek a meeting with the newly-appointed governor Nyambuya failed.
Edwin Moyo said the ZANU PF “chefs” started looting the equipment from the farm after Chris Mushohwe failed to run it.  Moyo added:

Arda clearly failed Kondozi. The only thing they succeeded in doing was to change the name from Kondozi to Arda Kondozi.
They tried several partnerships that did not work. The real motive had been to use State funds to assist Mushohwe eventually take over the business.

Mushohwe <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/former-information-minister-chris-mushohwe-has-died/">died on Monday</a>, 13 February aged 69.

<li>He served as the Minister in Ministries related to Agriculture from 2000 to 2017.</li>
<li>New and old farming and hospital equipment most of which was lying idle, was recovered at his farm in Headlands on 21 December 2017. Among them were; 2006 rotten maize seed, generators, wheelchairs, and unused storage bags (masaga) from the Presidential inputs scheme were recovered</li>
<li>He was made Minister of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement, 2000- 2007.</li>
<li>He continued earning a salary from the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/index.php?title=Agricultural_and_Rural_Development_Authority&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1" title="Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (page does not exist)">Agricultural and Rural Development Authority</a> ARDA after 10 years of leaving the institution. Five Things You Probably Didn't Know About Joseph Made

Former Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development Minister Joseph Made has been summoned by the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement to explain his unilateral appointment of Grain Marketing Board (GMB) General Manager, Mr Rocky Mutenha.
Made was also summoned to explain the irregular appointment of his relative to serve as senior executive manager at GMB for 18 months. Made allegedly appointed Mutenha ahead of Dr Millicent Mombeshora and Mr David Machingaidze who had the highest scores during the interviews. He also appointed his relative and GMB board deputy chairperson Mr Basilio Sandamu and the chairperson, Mr Charles Chikaura to act as senior executive managers for 18 months.
Made has been summoned together with Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement Mr Rings Chitsiko, Dr Gift Machengete, GMB Board Chairperson Mr Charles Chimaera and Mr Sandamu to appear for a hearing on the 27th of March.

Ex-Minister Joseph Made In Nepotism Storm, Summoned By Parly

The Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs has said that it intends to conclude at least 20 high profile corruption cases as part of its 100-day work plan. This will result in the “forfeiture of illegally acquired wealth on conviction of economic and corruption cases.”
Thes comes after a number of former ministers have been arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission on various charges of corruption and criminal abuse of office. Some of the ministers who have been arrested include:

Govt To Confiscate "Illegally Acquired Wealth” From Former Ministers Convicted Of Corruption

Minister of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development Dr Joseph Made announced that the government has set the price for soya beans financed under the Presidential Input Scheme during the 2017/18 season. The soya beans will be going for $610 per tonne which is 22 percent higher than the prevailing market rate. The country requires 300 000 tonnes of soya beans for production of edible oil.
Said Made:
<blockquote>The $610 per tonne of soya beans price will be our price for the 2017 /2018 season under the Presidential Input Scheme and we urge all farmers who benefit from the programme to deliver the crop to the Grain Marketing Board.
We have a great anticipation that the move will spur soya beans production from A1, communal farmers, old resettlement and small-scale farmers.</blockquote>

Govt sets soya bean price at $610/tonne, 22% higher than market price

The government through the Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development has set up two new parastatals to increase agricultural production. The two new parastatals are:
1. Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development Authority which will focus on irrigation.
2. National Horticulture Authority which is being set up to revive the horticulture sector which used to be a huge earner of foreign currency.
Chairperson of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development, Cde Christopher Chitindi said the two parastatals will build on and complement the success of Command Agriculture.

Govt sets up two new parastatals to complement Command Agriculture

The Minister of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development Dr <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Joseph_Made">Joseph Made</a> told ZBC News that tobacco auction floors are ready to open in February depending on the preparedness of farmers to deliver enough crop to kick start the marketing season.
ZBC News reports that the move by government to open auction floors earlier this year has been welcomed by farmers, who indicated that they have intensified harvesting and curing of the golden leaf in readiness for the early opening of the floors. If the plans by government are implemented, the early opening of the floors is expected to boost foreign currency inflows, ease liquidity challenges and improve cash flows for the farmers.

Agriculture Minister, Joseph Made says tobacco auction floors will open in February

A Public Service Commission (PSC) report has revealed that Government is losing more than $21 million to ghost workers annually.
According to the PSC report, most of the ghost workers are in the primary and secondary education ministry with 2,207 employees recorded on the payroll who don’t exist. Next is the youth and empowerment ministry under President <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Robert_Mugabe">Robert Mugabe</a>’s nephew <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Patrick_Zhuwao">Patrick Zhuwao</a> which was said to have some 152 workers unaccounted for.
Zhuwao’s ministry and that for Women’s Affairs Gender and Community Development has thousands of workers doing the same job in the same wards around the country. According to the report, Zhuwao’s ministry employs a total 3,463 youth officers responsible for community project(s) planning whilst while the women’s ministry has 842employees doing the same job as ward development coordinators. <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Joseph_Made">Joseph Made</a>’s Agriculture Ministry has 4,633 agricultural extension workers and 744 livestock production and development extension workers doing the same job.

Govt losing more than 21 million to ghost workers - PSC report

<a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Joseph_Made">Joseph Made</a>, has urged farmers to scout their fields daily in order to avoid pest outbreak. He urged the farmers to  report the outbreaks to their nearest Agritex offices for advice. Made is the Minister of Agriculture Mechanisation and Irrigation Development.
Agricultural experts with are failling to agree on a new worm which is destroying maize.Some are calling the pest a fall arm worm while others are calling it chilo worm.
