ZACC through its chairlady Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo has warned cabinet ministers to stay clear of their ministry’s procurements and stick to their jobs, The Sunday Mail reports.
This comes after the government initiated a forensic audit into the scandal riddled Ministry Of Health procurement deals that cost Obadiah Moyo his job.
Speaking to the publication, Justice Matanda Moyo said:
<blockquote>Ministers must distance themselves from procurement because once they are involved junior officers will be forced to overlook the right procedures. Everyone must stick to their job.</blockquote>
Matanda Moyo also said they were working closely with the NPA to make sure that any charges levels against any corrupt individuals stick:
<blockquote>We are working together to plug all the loopholes to make sure that once a suspected corruption official is arrested, he cannot walk scot-free. We have enhanced co-operation among various anti-corruption bodie.</blockquote>

Ministers, Distance Yourselves From Procurement, Stick To Your Jobs - ZACC

ZACC has said it is expecting to have recovered US $300 million in assets bought by proceeds from corruption by the end of this year as it is targeting houses and luxury cars suspected to have been bought by graft funds, The Herald reports.
This was revealed by the commission’s chair Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo who said they have recovered $100 Million in assets so far. Matanda Moyo Spoke at length about their work and said:
<blockquote>
To date, the commission has recovered over US$100 million worth of assets. Thanks to the enactment of the Money Laundering and Proceeds of Crime (Amendment) Act, 2019 which empowers the seizing of unexplained wealth. 
Increased collaboration with enforcement authorities of the unexplained wealth orders housed in the NPA and Zimra will see the commission far exceeding its target of recovering $300 million worth of assets by the end of the year.
Recovery of externalised proceeds of crime has also been given a boost through the establishment of agreements with reputable international partners who specialise in asset tracing and recovery, 
Several investigations are underway to bring many culprits to book. The Commission has set a target of at least 80 dockets to be completed and submitted to the NPA for prosecution by December 31, 2020.
..The victimisation and intimidation of whistleblowers will soon be a thing of the past with this piece of legislation coupled with other efforts such as the deployment of a whistleblower app that will make it easier for citizens to report cases online and track their progress.
</blockquote>
ZACC has over the last few months compiled cases against prominent figures and has blamed the NPA for failing to prosecute the corruption perpetrators.

ZACC Expects To Have Recovered US$300 Million In Corruption Assets By Year End - Matanda-Moyo

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Anti-Corruption_Commission">Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission</a> is set to go digital in line with 21st-century trends of digitalisation operations, ZBC News reports.
This was revealed in an interview with ZACC Chairperson Justice <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Loice_Matanda-Moyo">Loice Matanda Moyo</a> who said:
<blockquote>We discussed several measures that can be immediately taken on board by ZACC to ensure that they improve their operations and one of these areas is to effectively ensure that they utilise technologies that remove the human interface. This will be critical in fighting graft.</blockquote>
Justice Matanda Moyo was speaking after her meeting with visiting Ugandan Judge Justice Lawrence Gugudu who was in the <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2020/01/27/ugandan-judge-to-train-zimbabwes-judiciary-on-how-to-fight-corruption/">country to train Zimbabwe’s judiciary on how to fight corruption</a>.

ZACC Set To Go Digital

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Anti-Corruption_Commission" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC)</a> chairperson, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Loice_Matanda-Moyo" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo</a>, conceded that members of the public have lost confidence in the authorities’ ability to fight graft.
Speaking to the Daily News on Sunday, Justice Matanda-Moyo admitted that corruption has seeped into the whole governance architecture. She said:
<blockquote>We are aware that people have lost confidence in institutions that are there to fight crime and corruption and to ensure that the rule of law prevails.
It is very true that corruption is now everywhere. It is within Zacc itself, the National Prosecuting Authority, the judiciary and the executive.</blockquote>
Justice Matanda-Moyo vowed to deal with the cartels within State institutions responsible for fuelling corruption. She added that ZACC will sign an MoU with the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Revenue_Authority" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA)</a>, for the two organisations to jointly fight corruption at the country’s entry and exit points.

"Corruption Is Within ZACC Itself", Justice Matanda-Moyo

While addressing Zanu Pf North America division, In New York, on Saturday evening, the president lamented the levels of corruption in Zimbabwe. He said his government resolved to dissolve the previous ZACC board and asked Chief Justice Malaba for another panel of commissioners and Malaba recommended Justice Matanda Moyo.
He also informed them of the new executive decision to give ZACC arresting powers:
<blockquote>
Corruption had taken root in Zimbabwe and I think it had become very difficult to fight it, so we needed to be very drastic about it. The first thing was to dissolve the Anti-Corruption Commission that was there which needed to be also investigated by another commission, but instead of doing that we just had to remove it and we appointed a new ZACC.
We asked the judiciary to bring a strong and resolute judge and Chief Justice (Luke Malaba) recommended Justice (Loice) Matanda-Moyo. The group of commissioners is a terror to the corrupt and I am very happy with that and it is receiving my full support. We gave them teeth.
The former commission had no arresting powers which these ones have. What we have not yet achieved is the question of conviction. This has been because we have brilliant lawyers, they are able to cause postponements and find ways of postponing.
