King Mambo of the Lozwi, real name is Mike Moyo, who was crowned in the Mawabeni area of Matabeleland South province in 2019, recently appointed eight chiefs and 11 assistants to govern the Bulawayo Metropolitan province.
According to a report by the Southern Eye, the appointments took place on Saturday in Bulawayo. The Royal Mambo newsletter announced:

Congratulations to the new chiefs and assistant chiefs who were successfully anointed on August 10 by His Majesty King Mambo.
</blockquote>
The new chiefs are Emella Ncube (Nkulumane) Jahanna Ngwenya (Emganwini), Elliot Moyo (Entumbane), Loice Mazuruse (Pumula North), Amos Sibanda (Barbourfields), Shamiso Marima (Cowdray Park), Caston Bimha (Mpopoma) and Micah Ndebele (Pumula East).
The Lozwi clan appointed Moyo to lead the Mambo dynasty as part of efforts to revive its monarchy.
In 2023, King Mambo expressed frustration with the Bulawayo City Council after being excluded from the recent street renaming initiative.
He questioned why he was overlooked while the council chose to honour King Mzilikazi, who he argued is already commemorated through a suburb, a school, and an art centre.
The Mambo Dynasty Trust, established in July 2015, has actively campaigned for the restoration of the Mambo kingdom, which fell into decline in 1835. The last recognized Mambo was Tjilisamhulu.

Queen Ndlovukazi Nomalanga Ndiweni-Moyo, King Mambo’s first wife has died, the Chronicle reports. Queen Nomalanga reportedly died in South Africa a day before yesterday after a short illness.
Her death was announced by Chief Bekezela Bhekimpi Nyathi who told the publication that:
<blockquote>We want to let the nation know that our mother Queen Ndlovukazi Ndiweni-Moyo, the first wife of King Mambo has passed on in South Africa due to a short illness today.
As a Royal Family, we lived happily and during the Christmas Holiday, she was here as we celebrated the holiday together at our homestead in Mawabeni, Umzingwane District</blockquote>
The family spokesperson said they were making efforts to repatriate her body for burial at their homestead in Mawabeni. Burial arrangements are yet to be announced we will update this article if new details emerge.
47-year-old Queen Nomalanga has 5 children 3 boys and 2 girls. According to the publication, she was president when her husband King Mabo married a second wife Queen Ndlovukazi Priscilla Percy Ndlovu in October this year.
On another note, Queen Nomalanga ‘s cowife Queen <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2020/12/20/queen-moyo-hosts-a-christmas-party-at-entembeni-old-peoples-home/">Priscilla last week donated Christmas goodies</a> to the elderly at Entembeni Old people’s home. In donating the goodies the queen said she wanted to bring Christmas cheer to everyone.
