The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has announced the prices of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) for February 2024. According to a statement from ZERA, seen by Pindula News, the prices are calculated based on regulations called Petroleum (Liquid Petroleum Gas Pricing) Regulations 90 of 2021. For February, the price is set as follows:

<li>ZWL20,290.5 per kilogram.</li>

These prices have increased compared to January when LPG was priced at US$1.85 per kilogram and ZWL11,744.78 per kilogram. In December, the prices went up to US$1.84 and ZWL10,597.17 per kilogram. In November, the prices were US$1.85 and ZWL 10,597.17 per kilogram.
Operators who sell LPG are required to display the prices at their retail outlets in a visible and readable manner. It is important to note that selling LPG at prices lower than the prescribed prices is allowed if it benefits the traders.
In terms of safety, it is crucial to keep LPG cylinders away from stoves or any sources of flame or heat. This helps prevent accidents and ensure the safe use of LPG.

ZERA Announces February 2024 Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) Prices

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has announced a further reduction in the price of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) for the month of August.
According to a statement obtained by Pindula News, the regulatory body stated that the LPG prices for August 2023 were determined in accordance with the Petroleum (Liquid Petroleum Gas Pricing) Regulations 90 of 2021, as outlined below:

<li>ZWL price/kg: 6761.80</li>
</ul>
This represents a decrease from the previously announced rates of US$1.57/kg or ZW$8474.04 on the 7th of July, 2023.
ZERA advised operators to display the prices of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) at their retail outlets using clear and legible letters. The authority added that it is permissible to sell LPG at prices lower than the prescribed rates, subject to one’s trading advantages.
ZERA also urged stakeholders to verify petroleum price releases from ZERA through the official ZERA website, Facebook page, or Twitter handle.
Over the past five years, there has been a notable rise in the use of gas for domestic purposes in Zimbabwe. This increase in Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) usage can be attributed to the prevalence of load shedding, which has become a regular occurrence in the daily lives of Zimbabweans. As a result of unpredictable power outages, many households, particularly in urban areas, have turned to LPG as a reliable alternative for cooking and heating.

ZERA Further Reduces LP Gas Price

The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Energy_Regulatory_Authority">Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA)</a> lowered the price of Liquefied Petroleum (LP Gas) for April 2023. The new prices are US$2.02 per kg and ZWL$1 911.28 per kg, down from the previous prices of US$2.06 per kg and ZWL$1 861.35. In an update seen by Pindula News, the regulator said:

Operators should prominently display the prices of LPG at their retail outlets in clear, readable letters. It is allowed to sell LPG below the prescribed prices depending on trading advantages. Stakeholders can verify petroleum price releases by ZERA on their official website, Facebook or Twitter.

ZERA also advised members of the public to always purchase their LPG from a registered LPG retailer to avoid accidents. 
As of April 3, 2023, the average global price of LPG is US$0.76 per litre, but prices vary widely between countries. Generally, wealthier countries have higher LPG prices, while poorer countries and those that produce and export natural gas have lower prices. These price differences are due to varying taxes and subsidies. Despite all countries having access to the same natural gas prices on international markets, they choose to impose different taxes, resulting in different retail prices for LPG.

ZERA Reduces Price Of LP Gas

The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Energy_Regulatory_Authority">Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA)</a> has reduced the prices of Liquid Petroleum Gas with effect from the 8th of February 2023.
In a notice seen by Pindula News, the authority said LPG will be sold at US$1.77 down from US$1.91 in January.
ZERA said the new price in Zimbabwe dollars will be ZW$1 449.85. Reads the notice:

ZERA Reduces Prices Of LP Gas Effective 8 February 2023

The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Energy_Regulatory_Authority">Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA)</a> has announced new prices for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for the month of December 2022. 
In a statement seen by Pindula News, ZERA said the United States dollar price was reduced by 5 cents from the price announced in September 2022. Reads the statement:

Previously, ZERA reported that the annual consumption of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in the country has risen from 1 million kilogrammes to 50 million kilogrammes in 5 years.

January price is a decrease from the retail price for LPG of US$2.14 per kilogramme or alternatively, ZWL$222.95 per kilogramme <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/12/07/zera-increases-lp-gas-prices-for-december/">announced in December 2021.</a>
This was a significant increase from the November 2021 prices which were pegged at US$2.05 per kilogramme and ZWL$$202.78 per kilogramme respectively
