Liverpool have received a major boost ahead of the UEFA Champions League clash against Italian side Atalanta this Tuesday as Kostas Tsimikas, Joel Matip and Naby Keita returned to full training.

Major Boost For Liverpool Ahead Of Champions League

Manchester City are slated to host Arsenal at Etihad on the 17th of this month when the English Premier League returns to action.
The league was suspended in March following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
The resumption of the league coincides with the full recovery of Manchester City forward, Leroy Sane who is expected to make his first senior team appearance since August last year after suffering a knee ligament damage in the early stages of the Community Shield win over Liverpool.
Sane, 23, has been training with the team for a sustained period of time now and when football was suspended in England, he had featured for the under 23, but he was yet to be declared fit for the squad.

Manchester City Get Boost Ahead Of Arsenal Clash

The English Premier League on Friday announced the initial batch of fixtures of the restart of the league that was suspended in March following the outbreak of the coronavirus.
The fixtures are favourable to log leaders, Liverpool who could claim the first league title in 30 years at Anfield.

Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports after the 3-2 win over West Ham United on Monday night that they will have to look at defending set-pieces after “gifting” the Hammers a goal from a corner.
The young scouser is however happy with Liverpool’s position and he reiterated the teams’ hunger to “win everything”. He said:

Trent Alexander-Arnold has provided 25 Premier League assists, the joint-most by a Liverpool defender in the competition along with Stig Inge Bjornebye (25) who played for the club in the 1990s.
He recorded two assists against West Ham from difficult crosses, first setting up Georginio Wijnaldum in the first half, and then Sadio Mane in the second.

Liverpool and Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk says there is no reason for the club and fans to panic following a 0-1 reverse away to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Soon-to-be crowned English Premier League champions, Liverpool have already qualified for next year’s Champions League even though the knockout stage of this season hasn’t even started.
According to a BBC report, Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Monday night means that Liverpool, who are already on 76 points after only 26 matches, have guaranteed a top-four finish.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are 36 points above fifth-placed Tottenham with 12 games remaining.

Liverpool Qualify For Champions League Next Season

Liverpool has now won 14 Premier League matches in a row following Thursday night’s 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium in West Midlands.
The win also extended Liverpool’s lead at the top to 16 points with a game in hand over Manchester City in second.
The Reds got their goals through Jordan Henderson (8′) and Roberto Firmino (84′) while Wolves scored their solitary goal through Raul Jimenez (51′).
During the second half of the match, Wolves dominated so much that Liverpool risked a thorough beating but somehow, the champions-elect dug deep to emerge victoriously. Writing for the Mirror, Andy Dunn observed:

For a spell, the champions-elect looked human after all, tired, vulnerable and there for the taking.

Nevertheless, Firmino struck the deciding goal with only six minutes before the final whistle. This came after Sadio Mane was injured and replaced by new boy Takumi Minamino in the 33rd minute.
Meanwhile, Liverpool haven’t lost a single Premier League match in 40 – 5 of the results were draws – and this season the Reds have won 21 out of 22, the only draw being a 1-1 stalemate at Old Trafford.
The Reds can extend the 16-point lead at West Ham on Wednesday as they play their game in hand. By the time Manchester City next play in the league, the gap could be 22 points.
Liverpool need 27 points from their remaining 15 games to secure the Premier League title – that’s nine wins.

Liverpool has confirmed the signing of Japanese international, Takumi Minamino, from Red Bull Salzburg.
The reigning European Champions have stolen a transfer march on their rivals, Manchester United and Juventus, who were reportedly interested in signing the 24-year-old.
Minamino has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal after Liverpool triggered his £7.25million release clause at the Austrian Champions.

Reigning UEFA Champions League champions, Liverpool were made to sweat for three points after a spirited comeback from Red Bull Salzburg in a 4-3 thriller at Anfield on Wednesday night.
