MisRed, born Samantha Musa, a radio and television personality, has won the Female Most Stylish Award at the inaugural Style Icon Zimbabwe Awards (SIZA).
The first awards ceremony was held Saturday night at the Rainbow Towers Hotel in Harare under the theme ‘Celebrating Fashion In Our Environment’.
Speaking after winning the award, MisRed, who has often been body-shamed on social media platforms, said she never imagined women of her body size winning ‘style’ awards.
The ZiFM presenter has in the past admitted feeling inadequate and insecure about her body. Celebrating her win at the SIZA she wrote:

I am a plus-sized woman and growing up, women like me could never think of getting recognition in areas such as ‘style’.
Over time, trendy clothes for women my size became more accessible, we started to appreciate the beauty of different body shapes as society. I pray we continue to preach body positivity, preach being the best beautiful, stylish, healthy versions of ourselves.

Style Icon Zimbabwe Awards which had over 25 categories was hosted by fashionista Lillian ‘Hollywood Lee’ Madyara in conjunction with Gateway Stream and The Boss Brand.
Local celebrities, socialites and designers attended the event with a performance by Zimdancehall chanter, Nutty O.

MisRed Wins Female Most Stylish Award At SIZA

Harare-based radio and television personality, Misred, real name Samantha Musa is set to launch a book titled ‘Be Faithful To Your Happiness’ on 18 May 2021.
Musa announced the planned launch of the book at her private birthday party held in Harare on Sunday to celebrate her 32nd birthday. She said:
<blockquote>The book is a journey on how I moved from cheating to being faithful to my happiness. In that journey, I learnt that happiness is an inside job and not a feeling or event.
When I was going through many trials including sickness and couldn’t share with anyone I found solace in writing.
I would find myself writing every time and that is how the book was birthed.</blockquote>
The book will be available for purchase on her website www.imisred.com and in stores around Zimbabwe.
Musa started her journey in radio as a co-host on ZiFM Stereo’s breakfast show in 2013.
She currently hosts the afternoon drive show (The Rush) on the same station.

Misred To Launch Book On 18 May

ZiFM Stereo has appointed radio personality <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Tonderai_Katsande_(TK)">Tonderai Katsande</a> station manager, Chronicle reports. TK who has been with the station for 8 years is popular for hosting The Ignition breakfast show alongside Tinopona “Tin Tin” Katsande and later on with MisRed.
The development was posted on social media by the station in a post that reads:

ZiFM Appoints TK Station Manager

TV personality, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Misred" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Samantha Musa, known as Misred</a>, has issued an apology over her remarks on the Zimbabwean situation.
Misred had insinuated during an interview with a Ghanaian radio that reports on social media are not a true reflection of what is really happening on the ground adding that disgruntled and hurt citizens were sensationalizing minor issues.
Her remarks had attracted the wrath of some Zimbabweans with some unearthing her private life. Below is her full Twitter thread in which she issued the apology.
<blockquote>Dear fellow Zimbabweans, I really do want to say, I am sorry I let us down. I am sorry that my words have caused pain and have resulted in so many of you feeling that I have let our cause down.
I have listened to all the feedback and concerns raised and although my temptation has been to explain away the pain, I do agree I could have articulated our plight much more clearly. In hindsight, I should have declined the interview given the gravity of the cause.
I want you to know I share the pain and daily struggles we all experience and do not in any way trivialize this. #ZimbabweanLivesMatter and this is not negotiable. Again, my profound apologies.</blockquote>
