A 27-year-old man from Harare, Tinashe Sibanda, who had been missing since March 14, has been found dead in a mortuary.
Tinashe was last seen at Rezende Parkade in Harare’s Central Business District, where he worked as a pirate taxi driver, known locally as Mushikashika.
His family started searching for him after he disappeared from his workplace. After unsuccessful efforts to find him, they were advised to check the Parirenyatwa Hospital mortuary.

It has since emerged that Tinashe died from head injuries after he was hit by a car along Second Street Extension.

The motorist involved in the accident reportedly stopped and contacted the police, but they were unable to identify the deceased. Said a neighbour:

Simbarashe Gurajena (54) from Mpopoma, Bulawayo, was fined US$120 for insulting police officers at Pumula Police Station after accusing them of not doing enough to locate his missing son.

He received a four-month prison sentence, with two months suspended for three years, provided he didn’t commit a similar offence.

In passing the sentence, Moyo considered Gurajena’s age and the stress of his missing child but stressed the importance of discouraging violent behaviour. In his defence, Gurajena explained that he was stressed because he had reported his missing son but had not received any response from the police.

The other missing person, a woman called Sabina Shereni, was last seen on December 28th, 2024, heading to the Kariba General Hospital, but she never arrived at her destination.

She lived in Ushewokunze with her two children, a daughter in her early 20s and a son in Grade 6.
It is alleged that Chidzenga left home to seek medical attention in Harare and called one of her children to wait for her at a bus stop, but she never returned.
A young herdboy in Gutu discovered the decomposing body and alerted his father, who then informed neighbours and the local headman.
The body was then covered with tree branches while a police report was filed at Gutu.
However, when police officers visited the scene, they could not find the body where it had been left, according to the uncle.
When they resumed the search the following day, the body was recovered some metres from the place where it had been seen the previous day.
Clothing items, including a dress, slip-ons, a handbag, a wallet, and a mobile phone, were discovered at the scene.
The phone had a contact labelled “Daddy,” which they called to get in touch with Chidzenga’s father in Bluffhill.
Family members returned to Harare to make funeral arrangements, while authorities were yet to determine where the postmortem would be conducted.
Chidzenga was a graduate of Morgan Zintec College in Harare and was known to be a devout member of the Anglican Church, as shown by her Facebook messages.

The girl’s family has filed a missing person’s report at the Budiriro 2 Police Station, saying Trish was last seen with the Glenview North MP, who had allegedly promised to find her a job.
Speaking to <a href="https://www.zimlive.com/ccc-mp-happymore-chidziva-sucked-into-missing-teen-investigation/">ZimLive</a>, Trish’s aunt, Stabile Dewa, claimed that the family has evidence suggesting Chidziva, who is married to Trish’s cousin, is engaged in an inappropriate relationship with the underage teen.
If the allegations are proven true, Chidziva’s actions could be considered a criminal offence under Zimbabwean law, which sets the age of consent for sexual relations at 18 years. Said Dewa:

According to the family, when the police attempted to contact Trish on her phone, she refused to disclose her location.

Chidziva said he picked up Trish around 8 PM and dropped her off in Harare’s central business district.
The MP also acknowledged that he has been providing financial assistance to Trish for several years, without the knowledge of his wife.
Furthermore, Chidziva said he has been making efforts to have Trish return home, “because right now the impression is that she left on my account.”

CCC MP Happymore Chidziva Accused Of "Hiding" 16-Year-Old Girl

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has declared missing an Australian tourist aged 67 who was last seen on 17 February in Victoria Falls.
The tourist thought to have been travelling alone while in Victoria Falls, was booked at a local hotel and reportedly seen walking down to the Victoria Falls Rainforest around 6 AM on 17 February. That was the last time he was seen.
Details of the missing Aussie have not been given due to security reasons but he is said to have skin blemishes on the face.
Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZIMPARKS) spokesman Tinashe Farawo said on Monday that the missing tourist was male and aged 67 years.
The tourist, who was travelling alone, was staying at a luxury lodge about 3 kilometres (1.8 miles) from the rainforest park.
He reportedly told the lodge management on 17 February that he was heading into the park.
However, the man was not seen entering the park on CCTV footage reviewed later.
It also emerged that he was not among those recorded as entering the park, as normally is done for accountability and security purposes. Said Farawo:

We have replayed the CCTV footage, physical records at the entrance of the falls have no record of him entering and our search team has been checking the rainforest. There is no sign of him.
We are looking at other leads because it seems he never entered the rainforest.

The woman, Nyasha Sibanda did not return home after the church service.

A Bulawayo family is appealing for help to find their 13-year-old daughter who has been missing for the past five days.
Thabisile Pearl Nyathi of Makokoba suburb was last seen last Tuesday morning around 5 AM.
Her mother who could only be identified as MaNyathi told the <a href="https://www.chronicle.co.zw/girl-13-goes-missing/">Chronicle</a> that Thabisile is doing grade 7 at Lobengula Primary School.

13-year-old Girl Goes Missing

A 14-year-old female learner from Transparency College in Chitungwiza who went missing on 01 March this year was found in Mozambique where she had gone to stay with a man.
There were concerns that Mitchell Gwashavanhu could have been murdered or trafficked when she disappeared.
Mitchell went to school on the day in question and never returned home.
Since she went missing, her family had been demanding answers from the school authorities.
It has, however, emerged that Mitchell was alive and was with her boyfriend who had taken her to Mozambique.
According to <a href="https://www.hmetro.co.zw/three-months-later-missing-student-found-in-mozambique-teenager-was-staying-with-a-boyfriend-police-arrest-man-who-took-her-there/">H-Metro</a>, Mitchell agreed to go to Mozambique with her boyfriend, who has since been arrested by the police.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) detectives reportedly left for Mozambique on Saturday to facilitate Mitchell’s return.
Speaking to the publication, Mitchell’s uncle said they are still waiting for the police to furnish them with more details on the matter. He said:

I am still waiting for the police since the matter is in the hands of the police. The police will furnish us with more details but they went there to bring her home.
</blockquote>
H-Metro reported a source as saying Mitchell eloped to her boyfriend who later abandoned her after she seriously got sick. Said the source:

The man who took her to Mozambique is most likely to face kidnapping charges since the girl just disappeared, there could be child trafficking and rape charges too.
Mwana uyu anga atizira, she was not forced to go with the man. We are told kuti vaitowirirana and they agreed to go together.
She thought she had found a marriage mate, there were many blame games yet mwana akaita musikanzwa akatizira.
Imagine everyone thought she was murdered.
She got sick during the time they were staying together. So her boyfriend, disappeared since hanzi akarwara zviri serious.
He was afraid, and she saw kuti atizwa and went to the hospital.
She further reported the matter to the police.

Prior to the latest development, Mitchell’s relatives reportedly received a call from an unnamed individual who advised them to come and take their child from Mozambique.

Missing Chitungwiza Girl (14) Found In Mozambique Three Months Later

A Mutasa magistrate has ruled out foul play in the death of <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Livingstone_Sunhwa">Livingstone Sunhwa</a>, a Form Four student at St Mathias Tsonzo High School in Mutasa District, whose remains were found in a bush several months after his disappearance from the school.
The Prosecutor-General’s Office ordered an inquest into the death at Mutasa Magistrates’ Court after Livingstone’s sister, Pride Sunhwa, who was also attending school at St Mathias High School, claimed that he was assaulted by the Police and school authorities shortly before his disappearance.
In his ruling, as reported by <a href="https://www.manicapost.co.zw/foul-play-ruled-out-in-livingstones-death/">The Manica Post</a>, presiding magistrate Artwell Sanyatwe said evidence that had been presented before him suggested that Livingstone committed suicide by hanging. Said the magistrate:
<blockquote>
There is no doubt that Livingstone exhibited signs of truancy, which in my view contributed to his demise in this instance.
He either could not stand the embarrassing conduct of being arrested at the school in full view of his peers or feared the worst, hence his decision to take his own life.
Detectives who dealt with the matter both testified on the findings at the scene of the recovered human remains which they said were found about a kilometre from St Mathias Tsonzo High School in a secluded and bushy area.
A piece of cloth was found hanging from a tree, which matched a broken piece of cloth found among human remains or bones. Tests were conducted to establish whether these were Livingstone’s .
Their evidence was corroborated by expert tests and analysis, although the cause of death could not be ascertained.
With that in mind, the only logical conclusion that may be drawn is that the cause of death was due to suicide by hanging.
The chain of events taken cumulatively from the time of the deceased’s arrest, being taken to the police station, then back to the school and leaving the dormitory on the following morning supports that conclusion or the findings above.
Most of the witnesses who testified before me appeared to turn a blind eye to Livingstone’s behaviour and character. 
Evidence that emerged from this inquiry suggests that the deceased lacked parental care.
He was previously expelled from his former boarding school before being enrolled at St Mathias Tsonzo High School.
He was expelled from that school having stolen some food from the school’s dining room.
He also went missing from that school, only to be found after two days loitering outside the school premises.
This was exactly the same conduct at St Matthias Tsonzo High School.
There is no doubt that he exhibited signs of truancy, which in my view contributed to his demise.

Sanyatwe said his assessment of Livingstone’s sister’s statements in court and to the police were not consistent. He said:
<blockquote>
The statement to the police alludes to the use of a police [baton] in beating Livingstone several times on the back.
It also suggests this happened in her full view and in the staff room.
On the other hand, her testimony in court suggests otherwise, that she did not perceive or witness them going to the dormitory and could see her brother, Livingstone, being beaten and thereafter could not see him until after night studies when she saw him talking to the school headmaster.
The minor sister’s statement was critical as it appears to point to foul play, hence its analysis and assessment were paramount in the determination of this matter.
The rationale was that all other witnesses’ statements did not point directly to suspected foul play as they were either not present at the school upon the deceased’s arrest, or did not perceive anything which suggest foul play.

Livingstone’s father died under unclear circumstances while working in a mine in Mozambique.
Selina Tadya, who is the mother of Livingstone and Pride, lost her husband almost a decade ago and said was looking up to Livingstone to be the father figure for the family in future.
Tadya was based in South Africa where she was working while her two children were borders at St Mathias Tsonzo.

Magistrate Rules Out Foul Play In Livingstone Sunhwa's Death

A 16-year-old girl from Gokwe who was allegedly abducted by suspected ZANU PF supporters was dumped in Kadoma.
Chairmaine Chiremba, a learner at Njelele High School, was kidnapped in the early hours of Wednesday according to her father Christopher.
Christopher told the <a href="https://newsday.co.zw/southerneye/local-news/article/200009575/abducted-gokwe-girl-dumped-in-kadoma">Southern Eye</a> that Chairmaine was at Kadoma Police Station. He said:
<blockquote>
I am currently getting information that she is housed at Kadoma police and is safe.
She was dumped along the highway by a black (Toyota) Wish car with no number plates.
She is still in custody at Kadoma Police Station and they said they are making arrangements to ferry her to Gokwe centre.

He said they realised Charmaine was missing when her mother went to wake her up to prepare for school. 
Her mother found blood stains on the veranda of their bedroom and a note written ‘usivhotela ZANU PF mwana tatora’.
The note was written in a Shona dialect spoken in Gokwe, translated to “you should vote for ZANU PF, we have taken the child”.
Chiremba suspects his child was targeted because, in 2013, his wife contested for councillor under the MDC-T banner and lost. He added:

Ever since then, we have stayed away from politics. We even voted in the recent ZANU PF primary elections. I am not sure why they would target my family.

Abducted Gokwe Girl (16) Found In Kadoma

A 16-year-old girl from Gokwe went missing on Wednesday and her parents suspect she was abducted by ZANU PF supporters.
Christopher Chiremba told <a href="https://www.zimlive.com/girl-16-gone-missing-parents-suspect-abducted-by-zanu-pf-supporters/">ZimLive</a> that his daughter Charmaine Chiremba, a Form Three learner at Njelele High School, went missing in the early hours of Wednesday. He said:

We need assistance to look for our 16-year-old daughter Charmaine Else Chiremba.
On Wednesday morning, we heard footsteps outside our house.
I went to investigate and saw Charmaine and her sister coming from the toilet and I went back to sleep.

He said they realised Charmaine was missing when her mother went to wake her up to prepare for school. Said Chiremba:

Gokwe Girl (16) Gone Missing, Parents Fear She Was Abducted By ZANU PF Supporters

A six-year-old boy from Temperly Farm, Lionsden in <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Chinhoyi">Chinhoyi</a> went missing on 28 February and has not been seen since that day.
Police said the boy, Beverly Chifausipo, was last seen around midday on his way from school at Chifundi Farm, Chinhoyi. The <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimbabwe_Republic_Police">Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP)</a> said:

The ZRP is appealing for information that may assist to locate a six-year-old male juvenile, Beverly Chifausipo of Temperly Farm, Lionsden Chinhoyi.
The missing person was last seen on 28/02/23 at around 1200 hours on his way from school at Chifundi Farm, Chinhoyi.

Chinhoyi Boy (6) Goes Missing On Way From School

In an incident described by the Police as highly unusual, a 27-year-old Bulawayo woman disappeared just three days before her wedding.
Police said Bithanian Mandingora was last seen on 22 February this year on her way to drop off material for her wedding gown and suits.
She was set to tie the knot with her sweetheart on 25 February this year.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Bulawayo Province, Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident this Friday. He said:

Police in Bulawayo are appealing for information that may assist in the location of a missing person; Bithanian Mandingora a female adult aged 27 years of, Bulawayo.
The missing person was last seen on 22 February 2023. She was going to town to deposit a suit in preparation for her wedding, which was set to be held on 25 February 2023.

Inspector Ncube said Mandingora was last seen wearing a pair of black jean trousers, a black jacket with pink stripes on the arms, and black sneakers, carrying a pink handbag.
He added that Mandigora is approximately 1,69 meters in height, slim built, brown eyes, black hair, and dark in complexion. Said Inspector Ncube:

Bride (27) Goes Missing 3 Days Before Wedding

The mother of an 11-year-old boy who went missing for two and a half weeks in Bulawayo says she is happy to be reunited with her son but what disturbs her is that he remembers nothing about where he was, besides attending an unknown church.
Thobekile Mbiriri said her son, Promise, went missing on 17 October. He was found by members of the public and brought to Mzilikazi Police Station last Friday, according to a ZRP spokeswoman before being reunited with his family.
Promise went missing after he left home to collect sticks to build an abacus for his Continuous Assessment Learning Activity (CALA) assignment. Said Mbiriri:

When I asked him where he was he says he doesn’t know where the place is, but only remembers that it was a church.
This church holds services at night, Promise says. I then asked him what they were eating and he said he doesn’t know, but he was eating.
He says he was with other boys and was always closed up in the church and eating at night. 
He says on Thursday the boys left with the church congregants and he was left alone.
He was in different clothes when he was found from the ones he was wearing when he went missing.
He says it was cold and the people at the church gave him other clothes. He also says in the two weeks, they would bath at night.

Mbiriri added that Promise doesn’t remember anything other than that he was collecting sticks for his abacus outside the family home and then the next thing he was in church.

Missing Boy Found Alive And Well, Mother Reveals Shocking Details

Prominent administrator Kennedy Ndebele’s 20-year-old son, Ndabenhle Ndebele, has gone missing.
In a message circulating on social media sites, the Ndebele family said Ndabenhle was last seen on Sunday at around 3 PM in the Montrose suburb in Bulawayo where the family resides.
The family is now in a desperate state to locate him or his whereabouts. Reads the message:

Ndabenhle Ndebele was last seen at around 3 pm on the 18th of September, 2022 along Banbury Rd, Montrose, wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts. If you have seen him or have any information about his whereabouts, please contact Mrs Rosemary Ndebele on 0773807713.

Ndebele is currently the Premier Soccer League (PSL) chief executive officer.

Kennedy Ndebele Son’s Goes Missing

A 38-year-old woman who had been reported missing after a night out with friends was found dead in her brother’s car, police in Bulawayo have said.
The now-deceased Thulisile Dube left her parents’ Old Magwegwe home at 4 PM on a Saturday after telling her mother she was going to meet friends in town.
She was supposed to sleep at her Pelandaba West house later that night but failed to arrive and her phone rang unanswered.
On Tuesday, police called Dube’s family, informing them that the vehicle she was driving, a Honda Fit, had been found in the bushes in Emganwini suburb west of the city.
Her mother, Margret Dube, said her body was slumped on the floor of the car between the front and back seats facing down and had some marks on the back of her neck and shoulders.
Police are questioning several people who came into contact with her on Saturday, including her friends to ascertain what may have happened.
Thulisile’s mother said her daughter lives in South Africa and arrived in Bulawayo on a Thursday in the company of her brother for a week-long visit.
She said before going to bed on Saturday, she had called Thulisile who “kept saying she was coming as she was still with her friends” and never arrived home.
On Sunday morning, Dube called Thulisile’s friends who said they separated at 5 AM close to her Pelandaba West home. She said:

This does not sit well with me because friends are the most trusted people. 
Personally, I don’t have friends but our children have friends and they were enjoying themselves. You cannot trust a friend when something like this happens.
I’m still waiting for information on how the car got to Emganwini and the whereabouts of some of her belongings.

Woman Found Dead In Car After Night Out With Friends

Police in Manicaland have appealed to members of the public with information leading to the whereabouts of a missing toddler to contact their nearest police station.
One-year-old Alicia Chipunza went missing after she was left playing alone at Village 15B, Mount Village in Odzi sometime in May.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson in Manicaland Province, Inspector Norbert Muzondo, confirmed the case. He said:

She was playing at their homestead at around 6 am after her mother, Memory Jimu left her in the custody of her mother-in-law, Judith Matope and proceeded to a nearby village to do a menial job.
Alicia was playing with two other minors who were later sent to a nearby village before she was left playing alone. She disappeared and a search was conducted to no avail.

One-year-old Girl Disappears

A family from Bulawayo’s Emganwini suburb is looking for their 13-year-old who was last seen on 28 April.
Lawrence Moyo, a Form One pupil at David Livingstone was last seen at around 6:30 pm. He was wearing a green T-Shirt, blue jeans, and slippers.
Lawrence reportedly left a written note to his family which his father, Ellison Moyo found after the boy had left their Emganwini home (4061). The note reads:

Dear Mama and Daddy. First of all, I would like to thank you guys for everything you have done for me. I don’t really know how to thank you.
In my life, I’ve never made you guys proud of me but I tried my best, still, it was impossible so I have decided to get out of your lives.
You’ve been a wonderful family to me but I was not a good son, good brother or good human being. I feel like I have been a burden in your life.
I’m going somewhere far away from you guys because I don’t feel good about all I have done.
Please don’t look for me because you will never find me.

"Don't Look For Me", Teen (13) Disappears After Writing "Goodbye" Note

A 13-year-old girl from Harare’s Warren Park suburb who went missing last week was found drugged and gang-raped by two men in Kuwadzana.
The girl was found by her brother and sister after six days on Saturday at a house in Kuwadzana 2 where she was allegedly being injected with a drug and raped on several occasions.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tendai Mwanza confirmed the case.
He said the girl left home on the 23rd of August 2021 at around 3 PM to play with her friend and delayed to return home until around 5 PM.
Inspector Mwanza said it is believed that she didn’t go back home because she was afraid of her mother whom she stays with. He said:

She reportedly decided to walk to town along Harare-Bulawayo road until she got to Total Service station at corner Samora Machel road and Chinhoyi Street where she took a rest.
</blockquote>
That was when a man allegedly took her into his black Toyota Wish registration unknown and drove to Kuwadzana 2 Car Park where her ordeal started.
Speaking to H-Metro, the girl’s father said her daughter was now stable and able to recollect what had happened. He said:

My daughter says she just mysteriously wandered from home in Warren Park 1 into town on foot and ended up resting at a fuel station along Samora Machel.
That is when two men offered her transport and she was injected with a drug along the way.
For all the six days she was just being injected and gang-raped and was isolated in a room.

The girl told H-Metro the names of the two men who allegedly drugged and raped her. She identified them as Kuku and Emmanuel.
Her father further narrated to H-Metro how his other daughter and son ended up finding the girl. He said:

We received a call from a lady in Kuwadzana who alerted us that she had seen my daughter at her neighbour’s house.
She had recognised my child from the missing person circulation on social media and our numbers had been attached to the circular.
My other daughter and son then went to that house and pretended to ask for water to drink and were told to get inside the house.
They were surprised to see my daughter in the house and she is the one who served them with water but did not recognize her siblings because of the drugs she was being injected.

The Tioka family is appealing to members of the public if they could help them to locate their son Tichaona Kusaya
Tichaona Kusaya went missing on Sunday 7 October 2018 in Chitungwiza unit F, after he attended a church service at Apostolic Faith Mission  Hebron Assembly. Tichaona is mentally ill and was last seen wearing a navy blue t-shirt, black jean trouser and black sneakers. He is dark in complexion about 1.2meters tall, he cannot properly speak he has a glaring speech disorder.

Chitungwiza Family Appeals For Public Help To Locate Missing Son

Former MDC national spokesperson and Zapu 2000 leader, Joshua Mhambi’s son, Mthabisi, has gone missing in South Africa where the family is based.
Mthabisi Mhambi was last seen on Monday last week when he left home, in Kempton Park, to work in Boksburg which is some 20 kilometres away. In an appeal posted on his Facebook page, Mhambi wrote:
<blockquote>Mthabisi Mhambi has been missing since Monday late afternoon. He left home (Kempton Park) going for work (in Boksburg) and did not come back. He did not report for duty.
