The late Madzibaba Wimbo’s aide Cosmas Hamadziripi Chihuri was evicted from Johane Masowe eChishanhu Vadzidzi VaJesu Church’s Madziwa Shrine.
Speaking to The Herald, Mudzidzi Grasteji U, confirmed the incident and said Chihuri was evicted for bad-mouthing the current church leadership, especially Mudzidzi Stabloni P (Ishmael Magodi). Said Mudzidzi Grasteji U:
<blockquote>What we gathered is that a caretaker at the shrine, Munhuwese Lestiweji A (Wilson Makope) alleged that Cosmas was labelling the current leader, Stabloni P a Satanist and a wizard who had no moral rights to lead the church. The caretaker allegedly mobilised patients to evict him from the shrine and I understand they forced his wife out as he (Cosmas Hamadziripi) was not present.</blockquote>
However, Munhuwese insisted that he did not facilitate Cosmas’ eviction as alleged. He said fellow church members were angered by Chihuri’s attack of the church’s leadership and acted upon themselves to evict him. Mudzidzi Wimbo, who was also known as Mudzidzi Majinetsa, died last year at the age of 96.

Mudzidzi Wimbo's Aide Evicted From Church Shrine

Speaking at the burial of Mudzidzi Wimbo at their church headquarters last week, his son, Mr Zvadaishe Gomo, said his father was a political commissar for Zanu-PF and the church would continue supporting the party.
Said Gomo:
<blockquote>My father supported Zanu-PF and his death will not cause confusion among ourselves because we will continue supporting President Mnangagwa. We will vote for Zanu-PF.</blockquote>
He also thanked church members for helping him take care of his father when he was not feeling well.

Mudzidzi Wimbo's Church Vows To Continue Supporting Zanu-PF

The leader of the Johane Masowe eChishanu Vadzidzi VaJeso apostolic sect, Mudzidzi Wimbo, real name Aaron Mhukuta Gomo who died on Thursday, was buried at the church’s shrine in Shamva in the absence of his family. Wimbo who died at the age of 96 after a long illness was buried the next day without his family in attendance. Instead, the family was at the homestead where they held their own funeral wake. This follows a dispute which saw Mudzidzi Wimbo permanently leaving his family home in 2015 to stay at the church shrine. Speaking to The Standard, his son Abevaishen said,
<blockquote>There is conflict between church members and the family because of the way he left here and started staying at the shrine. He was forced. The matter was brought before former president Robert Mugabe and a committee was set up.It made enquiries, but nothing happened. We were expecting that with the new leadership, things would be corrected, but that has not been the case. Nothing has happened and now our father has passed on and has been buried there [at the shrine] without his family. The whole family and other church members are here at his homestead…This is a new thing to us and it is very strange that we have two separate funerals at the church and homestead and the government leadership is there and folding their hands.
…However, there are two churches now — the one at the shrine and the other here. We are going separate ways.</blockquote>
Mudzidzi Wimbo is reported to have made a prophecy in 1957 that independent Zimbabwe would be led by a man with the name of an angel, Gabriel, which apparently, came to pass when former president Robert Gabriel Mugabe became Zimbabwe’s leader in 1980.

Leader of the Johane Masowe eChishanu Vadzidzi VaJeso apostolic sect, Mudzidzi Wimbo, real name Aaron Mhukuta Gomo has died. Mudzidzi Wimbo who was 96, died at Arundel Hospital this morning and according to his deputy, one Steblone, he will be buried tomorrow. He is survived by two wives and 18 children.
Mudzidzi Wimbo is reported to have made a prophecy in 1957 that independent Zimbabwe would be led by a man with the name of an angel, Gabriel, which apparently, came to pass when former president Robert Gabriel Mugabe became Zimbabwe’s leader in 1980.

Mudzidzi Wimbo Has Died

Mudzidzi Wimbo’s fourth wife Lenca suffered a stroke on Saturday and was rushed to Mt Darwin Hospital where she died. There are security concerns that Mudzidzi Wimbo’s sons could use the funeral to abduct their father who is at the centre of a serious succession row.
Wimbo’s spokesperson, Shepherd Chingwena appealed to security personnel to be at the funeral in case rival groups cause disturbances. Said Chingwena:
<blockquote>It is with much sadness that I have to announce that our mother Lenca, the wife of MIGS (Wimbo) has died. We know that our rivals might try to disturb the funeral so we are appealing to everyone who is part of our security to leave whatever they are doing and come to the funeral.</blockquote>

Mudzidzi Wimbo's fourth wife dies, fears sons may abduct Wimbo at funeral

Mudzidzi Wimbo has responded to claims that he prophesied that President <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/news/2017/05/11/mudzidzi-wimbo-predicts-mugabes-successor-will-outsider-army-intervene-politics/#.WWsxdoh97IU">Robert Mugabe’s successor will be an outsider</a>. Speaking to Sunday Mail on behalf of Mudzidzi Wimbo, sect leader Shepherd Chingwena said Wimbo did not make the prophesy and that he endorsed Mugabe for 2018.
Said Chingwena:
<blockquote>Mudzidzi is not happy with these false stories. He wants to be known for healing and bringing education and not for predicting national leaders. As you have seen he spends most of his time healing the sick.
Where was the prophecy made and who was there? All the other prophecies were made during church services. Furthermore, Mudzidzi does not speak in riddles when making pronouncements, he mentions names. The newspaper article does not mention the source of the story because there is no such source.
Mudzidzi is not a political analyst nor is he there primarily to make prophecies related to politics. He never prophesised about leadership in any party. Any sane person knows that the party’s leaders are elected at national congresses and are not prophesied.</blockquote>

Mudzidzi Wimbo responds to reports he prophesied Mugabe's successor will be an outsider

Sources told Daily News that Mudzidzi Wimbo has finally predicted that an outsider will succeed Mugabe as Zanu-PF leader.
Said the source:
<blockquote>He has made another prophesy that a new leader will emerge next year, but did not give names. However, he said the new leader is not among the current favourites who are engaged in Zanu PF’s succession battles, but is an outsider. The prophet said the person who will next lead Zimbabwe will have a ‘foreign name’ and that there will be great suffering in the country for some months. He also predicted that the army will intervene in politics.</blockquote>
Mudzidzi Wimbo is also famously known for predicting that President Robert Mugabe will rule independent Zimbabwe.

Mudzidzi Wimbo predicts Mugabe's successor will be an outsider, army to intervene in politics

In a brief interview with The Daily News, local government minister and Zanu-PF national commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere responded to claims by State media that he staged managed Mudzidzi Wimbo’s abduction after  the Madziwa-based church leader  failed to anoint him to be the next Zimbabwe president.
Said Kasukuwere:
<blockquote>Handisati ndambopfeka magements kana kumboenda ikoko, hameno vanoenda ikoko vanozviziva (I have never worn their garments or even visited the shrine, I am not sure about those who visit the place and they know themselves).</blockquote>
Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa made headlines in 2015 when he visited Mudzidzi Wimbo’s shrine . The prophet is famed for allegedly prophesying that President Robert Mugabe would be the first black president as early as 1957.

Kasukuwere responds to claims he stage managed Mudzidzi Wimbo's abduction as part of plot to succeed Mugabe

Zanu-PF national political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere has been accused of being the brains behind the “abduction” of Mudzidzi Wimbo (Mr Aaron Mhukuta) of the Vadzidzi VaJeso church after the cleric refused to make a false prophecy that Kasukuwere would succeed President Robert Mugabe.
Speaking to The Herald, one of Wimbo’s sons, Mr Zvadashe Gomo, said Kasukuwere, working with Ishmael Magodi (national leader), Shephard Chingwena (secretary-general), Zex Pamacheche (first committee member) and Edison Mukohwa (second committee member), was fabricating claims that his father was kidnapped by four of his assistants. Said Gomo:
<blockquote>I want to make it very clear that my father was never kidnapped as alleged in the private media. Everyone else knows that my father made a prophecy in 1957 predicting that President Mugabe will be the first black President of an independent Zimbabwe. Now, Cde Kasukuwere, working with some of my brothers and his Zanu-PF loyalists, wants to force my father to go back to that home and make a false prophecy anointing him as the next President. They know that Mudzidzi Wimbo is well respected, and they now want to take advantage of his advanced age to fulfil their political ambitions. They are the ones who are behind the stories claiming that Mudzidzi Wimbo was kidnapped, which are not true.</blockquote>
