Police in Murehwa are looking for a man who fatally assaulted his employer before fleeing.
The suspect, Antony Chipanda, later claimed that his 81-year-old employer had tried to sodomise him.
Police confirmed the gruesome killing on their official Twitter. Police said:

Police in Murehwa are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Antony Chipanda who is being sought in connection with a case of murder in which he allegedly attacked to death his employer, Murambiwa Makuwe (81), with a hoe and log.
The suspect allegedly confessed to the victim’s daughter that he killed her father because he allegedly tried to sodomise him.
Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station.

In another murder case, Police in Mutorashanga arrested Lameck Tarashira (27) for allegedly killing his wife in cold blood.
Tarashira fatally assaulted his wife, Fungai Shereni (35), with a log on Independence Day at Maplanka Farm, after accusing her of cheating with her ex-husband.

Hookers in Macheke, Murehwa, are complaining that tobacco farmers’ wives this time around accompanied their husbands to the auction floors a situation that robbed them of an opportunity to make money.
Reports suggest that a lot of farmers have in the past lost thousands of their hard-earned United States dollars to sex workers who who usually work with male criminals.
Hookers who spoke to NewZimbabwe said the move by farmers’ wives dealt them a heavy blow since they used to rely on tobacco farmers for revenue. One sex worker, who only identified herself as Mucha, said:
<blockquote>_We used to rely on tobacco farmers during this period, but now their wives are now accompanying them to the auction floors and they are no longer accessible._
_So, for us to approach tobacco farmers soliciting for beer or sex is now impossible. The farmers also come to bars that are operating illegally with their wives and as a result, the couples don’t spend much time in the town compared to previous years when they would stay for over a week._
_Sex is work and if we do nothing, our children will die from hunger and be unable to attend school. We are getting old, and sex work will not take us far. We need to prepare for retirement, so we appeal to authorities if we can be assisted with income-generating projects and retire from this trade._</blockquote>

According to Mucha, the female sex workers’ sources of income had also been worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has seen most people finding it hard to survive.
She added that the decline in demand resulted in them lowering their fees to as little as $1 per session.
Mucha also bemoaned the fact that most beer outlets remain closed while police are chasing or abusing them as fine, if they resort to beer outlets operating illegally.

Farmers' Wives Design Way To Frustrate Hookers

The Makore family has said it is still waiting on the police to give an update on progress made in searching for Tapiwa’s “missing” head.
Tapiwa was slain in September last year for alleged ritual purposes and was buried six months later at his homestead in Nyamutumbu village with some body parts missing.
Speaking to NewsDay on the latest developments, Tapiwa’s father, Munyaradzi Makore, said they were still waiting to hear from the police. He said:
<blockquote>_We are still waiting. We haven’t heard anything from police since the burial of our son. We will hear from them. So far, nothing can be said concerning the missing body parts._</blockquote>
The Makore family has tried in vain both traditional and religious means to locate the boy’s head. <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/03/11/not-our-son-tapiwa-makores-parents-reject-dna-results/">The family rejected DNA results</a> that suggested that a skull discovered days after Tapiwa’s murder belonged to their son.
<div class="code-block code-block-5 code-block-inarticle-classifieds-mobile">Family lawyer Ms Tabitha Chikeya said the family wanted a second test saying it was impossible for the head to belong to Tapiwa considering that it looked old despite being discovered only three days after his death.</div>
Last Wednesday in the National Assembly, Zengeza West MP Job Sikhala (MDC Alliance) asked Home Affairs minister Kazembe Kazembe to explain what the police was doing to ensure that the Tapiwa’s head was found. Responding, Kazembe said:
<blockquote>_What I am aware of is that forensic audits were done and the family was not very satisfied. They were saying some of the parts do not belong to him. The family was then free to choose their own scientists who would carry out the forensic audit. As far as the police are concerned, thorough investigations were done_</blockquote>
The family says it just want closure on the case.
Tapiwa was allegedly killed by herdboy, Tafadzwa Shamba, and others at the instigation of Tapiwa’s namesake uncle who is denying the allegations.

Makore Family Still Waiting For Police Update On Tapiwa's Head

Mr Thanks Makore who was implicated in the murder of his brother’s 7-year-old son, Tapiwa Makore, has been granted a ZWL$10 000 bail.
Thanks Makore who resides in Damofalls, Harare was arrested after it appeared that he had paid US$1 500 for his nephew’s head and arms.
He is jointly charged with his twin, Tapiwa Makore (Senior) and his herdsman, Tafadzwa Shamba who are still in remand.
Makore appeared before Justice Benjamin Chikowore yesterday and was ordered to surrender his passport, deposit ZWL$10 000 bail and report every Friday to the police.
Meanwhile, Tapiwa’s family is awaiting DNA tests results to ascertain whether recovered body parts belonged to the deceased or not.
Some say Tapiwa’s gruesome murder was for ritual purposes.

Murehwa Murder: Tapiwa Makore's Uncle Granted Bail

An 11-year-old Murehwa boy has been implicated in the ritual murder of Tapiwa Makore (Jnr) in late September this year.
Police investigations in the murder of Tapiwa, 7, have revealed that the boy from Nyamutumbu Village was paid $5 to lure the now deceased from the garden to his uncle’s homestead.
The murdered boy’s uncle, Tapiwa Makore (Snr) allegedly gave the boy $5 plus a T-shirt for his role in the murder and cover-up.
Makore (Snr) warned him against disclosing the matter to other villagers, but the boy handed over the money to his mother who kept the matter a secret. The mother is said to have used the money to buy chicken.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the latest development.
He also revealed that the boy will testify as a witness in the murder trial.
Two women, Joina Tangirire and a relative, Enia Tangirire, allegedly bought meat from Tafadzwa Shamba, Makore’s herdsman, who was allegedly involved in the murder.
The women were recently picked up for questioning by police after it emerged that they had unknowingly bought human flesh from Shamba. The human flesh is thought to have been part of the murdered boy’s thigh.
The Tangirires, who sold opaque beer and kachasu from their homestead, allegedly obtained the meat from Shamba for six containers of opaque beer. The flesh was however consumed by the whole family.
Shamba and Makore (Snr) are in remand prison pending the murder trial.

Chief police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba released the names of the 10 people that died when a kombi, evading a Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) checkpoint, collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle in Murehwa on Monday morning.
Post mortems were conducted at Murewa Hospital yesterday and all the bodies were identified by their relatives. Eight victims are male and two females. The 10 are Tafadzwa Maxwell Nhekede (32), Moses Mashinga (45), Sunday Tembo (50), Principal Makudza (40), Glodin Musemwa (six), Takesure Chiromo (30), Admire Nyamunda (30), Saymore Chiroodza (25), Rachel Kanembera (32) and Simbarashe Dimbi (51).

Police name Murewa accident victims

10 people died while 13 were injured when two commuter omnibuses collided at the 59km peg along the Harare-Nyamapanda highway just before Musami Cross business centre this morning.
4 died on the spot while 2 were pronounced dead on arrival to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare. The other 4 were pronounced dead upon arrival at Musami Mission Hospital in Murewa. Of the injured 8 were transferred to Parirenyatwa, three to Murewa Hospital and two to Musami Mission Hospital.
