The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) has released a statement outlining the goods on the Open General Import Licence.
Zimra said all the goods listed no longer require an import licence, but import permits for specified goods from the Ministries of Agriculture &amp; Health for commercial importations remain in force. You can view the goods that do not require import licences <a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2018/10/23/govt-suspends-restrictions-on-importing-goods-says-you-can-import-if-you-have-free-funds/">HERE</a>. Zimra also said goods whose value does not exceed US$200 will not pay duty.
Part of Zimra’s statement reads:
<blockquote>Any importations of the above mentioned goods which are of commercial nature or are being imported by a genuine traveller and are in excess of traveller’s rebate of US$200.00 will require duty to paid. Please note that the production of any other relevant import permits such as required by Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health &amp; Child Welfare remain in force for commercial importations. Clients are urged to take note of these provisions and obligations to avoid any inconveniences when entering Zimbabwe through designated ports of entry.  Please take note that the rest of the goods other than those listed above remain controlled by SI 122 of 2017.</blockquote>
Partial Rebate is an allowance granted on goods imported by a traveller once a month on the date of his/her first entry into Zimbabwe in that calendar month on a number of conditions.

Goods Above US$200 Will Pay Duty- Zimra Speaks On Import Ban

Government is losing millions of dollars in potential revenue to syndicates abusing the immigrants’ rebate facility (Returning Resident) to import vehicles duty free at Beitbridge Border Post and other ports of entry.
Statistics from the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) show that so far 17 cases were intercepted between December 2017 and April this year. 3 256 cars were imported under the Immigrant Rebate facility via Beitbridge border post in 2017.
In an interview with The Chronicle yesterday, Zimra acting head of communication Mr Taungana Ndoro confirmed the developments and said:
<blockquote>From 01 December 2017 to date, 17 cases have been intercepted for abuse of Returning Residents facility (Immigrants rebate). Some of the methods used by such people to clandestinely import the motor vehicles include situations where clients are being used to declare motor vehicles, which do not belong to them. In such cases agents buy cars and pay clients to declare the vehicles under Immigrants rebate. In addition, we also encounter clients who would have been granted immigrants rebate within the last four years trying to import another vehicle.</blockquote>
