The family of the late Zimdancehall artiste <a href="https://ztn.co.zw/stream/2021/05/soul-jah-love-family-warns-pirates/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Soul Jah Love</a>, real name Soul Musaka, has accused some music producers who worked with the late artist are pirating his music.
They say the musician left more than 100 unreleased songs with different producers in the country. Family spokesperson Solomon Musaka said:
<blockquote>We hoped that everything would be managed through the estate but it looks like there is a lot of indiscipline in the market.
Everyone wants to have a piece at the moment we are struggling to stamp our authority. The lawyers will deal with the issue.</blockquote>
Soul Jah Love died at Mbuya Dorcas Hospital in Harare on 16 February this year and was conferred liberation hero status.
He was only 31.

A New YouTube account yesterday titled Soul Jah Love released 9 songs that were released by the musician before his unfortunate demise last month.
The new YouTube account released the following songs that were sang by Soul Jah Love:

It is still not clear if this is just a YouTuber trying to monetise the musician’s music, or they are just sharing them for fun or they obtained consent from his family and his estate executor to share the musician’s songs.
Last month it emerged that someone had<a href="https://news.pindula.co.zw/2021/03/01/soul-jah-loves-unreleased-songs-go-missing/"> stolen Soul Jah Love’s laptop and flash drive</a> that had a lot of his unreleased songs. It is still not clear at this point if the new YouTube account might be the person who reportedly took the missing items.

New YouTube Account Shares 9 Soul Jah Love Songs After Singer's Laptop With His Songs Goes Missing

Soul Jah Love’s unreleased songs have gone missing according to his family, ZTN reports. This was revealed by the Zimdancehall Chanter ‘s brother Solomon who said the laptop containing the recently descended musician’s unreleased songs and memory card went missing just after the musician’s death.
Solomon said he believes the laptop and memory card are in the hands of a prominent music producer when he spoke to the publication and urged the said producer to do the right thing:
<blockquote>Look our approach is that we want to resolve matters amicably but we have our strong suspicions. There is a prominent music producer we believe has these items and we are giving him a chance to do the right thing.
A family member has been tasked with pursuing dialogue with the said producer but if that fails we have no option but to report the matter to the police. We don’t want to wash our dirty linen in public hence our desire to pursue dialogue ahead of drama.</blockquote>
Solomon said Soul Jah Love’s Unreleased songs are part of his estate and they will do their best to keep his legacy alive:
<blockquote>Those songs are his property; they belong to his estate along with the several properties he left. In fact, the songs he left behind could be more than 200 because here was a guy who could just compose a song in a matter of minutes.
He was a genius, a Dambudzo Marechera type of guy, and we have to make sure that we keep his legacy going and the first port of call it making sure that his discography and royalties are looked after well.</blockquote>

Soul Jah Love's Unreleased Songs Go Missing

Hollywood-based Zimbabwean actor, Arnold Tongayi Chirisa, is tonight set to announce the full list of the Star FM Listeners’ Choice Awards 2021 nominees.
The organisers of the show confirmed with The Herald that Tongayi Chirisa will make the announcement at 7 pm on their social media pages.
Meanwhile, Star FM head of programming, Steve Vickers, said the awards will be hosted virtually on March 13. Vickers said:
<blockquote>Our hashtag is “#RespectTheHustle” — it was a tough year, but so much good music was released, and we saw artistes embracing the new normal through online shows and continuing to record music.</blockquote>
Star FM also said “despite all the gloom fears and desperate times that we have faced as a nation and the world at large, music has kept us entertained, encouraged and inspired.”
The radio station added that musicians have proven that music is more than a source of livelihood but a powerful vehicle of communication and entertainment. Added Star FM:

Tongayi Chirisa To Announce Star FM Awards Nominees

Zanu PF has said the recently departed musician Soul Jah Love was an active member of their party and he came from a strong political family with his father and mother both being members of the ruling party, The Herald reports.
This was said by Zanu PF acting secretary for youth Tendai Chirau who volunteered the information as he was speaking to the publication and said:
<blockquote>Soul Jah Love was a strong member of Zanu PF as he played an active role. He was born from a political family and was also active in the party. He, together with his friend, Changara, supported the party.
His father was a ZIPRA member of the intelligence, while the mother was active in the Women’s League national executive in 1984, which was headed by the late Sally Mugabe.</blockquote>
Chirau was speaking after reports of the ruling party hijacking the late musician’s funeral in Harare at Warren Hills Cemetary circulated on social media which did not sit well with some of his followers who dislike the ruling party.

Multitudes attended the burial of Zimdancehall chanter and Liberation Hero, Soul Jah Love born Soul Musaka, who was laid to rest at Warren Hills this Saturday.
Soul Jah Love received a gun salute, a symbolic gesture of honour, performed by military officers whenever a hero is laid to rest.

Zimbabwe’s major political parties, the ruling ZANU PF and the MDC Alliance, as well as the smaller MDC-T, have all endorsed the conferment of the liberation hero status on the late Zimdancehall chanter <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Soul_Jah_Love" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Soul Jah Love</a>, real name Soul Musaka.
Soul Jah Love died on Tuesday night upon arrival at the ZAOGA-owned <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Mbuya_Dorcas_Hospital">Mbuya Dorcas Hospital</a> in Harare. He was 31.
ZANU PF Harare Province chairperson Goodwills Masimirembwa said Soul Jah Love, who was in the party’s structures, was very vocal in supporting the current government. Said Masimirembwa:
<blockquote>The province requested the party leadership to confer him with a hero status for the role he played as a young man throughout his life he subscribed to the ethos, values of the liberation struggle.
Soul Jah Love was very vocal in supporting the birth of the New Dispensation in particular His Excellency President Mnangagwa.
It is on the basis of his consistency that he deserves the honour, although he was not part of the liberation struggle, we pass on the button to the younger generation.</blockquote>
MDC Alliance national youth secretary-general Gift Ostallos applauded the development, saying Soul Jah Love is a hero by virtue of his contribution to the arts industry.
Spokesperson of the MDC-T, Witness Dube, said the conferment of hero status to Soul Jah Love should be celebrated by all.

BREAKING: Soul Jah Love Dies

Popular ZImdancehall chanter Soul Jah Love (real name Soul Musaka) was yesterday arrested after a promoter reported him to the police for receiving his money and not showing up to perform for the show he was paid for, H Metro reports.
Musaka will appear in court today facing unnamed charges after the unidentified promoter who reportedly paid him $300 to perform at a Private show on Christmas Day laid charges against him.
Musaka reportedly pulled a similar stunt in South Africa in November and fans reportedly protested against the chanter and damaged property worth thousands of Rand.
He, however, dismissed the reports saying the promoter came to take him from the hotel where he was staying a few minutes before the time of the curfew, therefore, there was no way he would have performed.
It had also been alleged that the Pamamonya Ipapo hitmaker had abused drugs and resultantly, he could not perform.

Dancehall musician <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Soul_Jah_Love">Soul Jah Love</a> (real name Saul Musaka) was yesterday involved in a car accident on the 130km peg along the Harare Kadoma highway, Gemnation reports.
Soul Jah Love was travelling in a mini cooper when the accident happened. The car reportedly rolled a few times and landed on its wheels. The chanter, however, escaped unhurt.
According to a source that posted an update about the accident on social media:

Soul Jah Love Involved In An Accident

Zimdancehall musician Soul Jah love was found guilty on the charge of breaching the Civil Aviation Regulations Act when he appeared before Harare magistrate Learnmore Mapiye.
He was fined $300 while failure to pay would attract a one-month jail term. Magistrate Learnmore Mapiye cancelled Soul Jah Love’s warrant of arrest before passing his judgment and sentence. The court heard that on December 12 last year, Soul Jah Love forced himself through the screening point at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport after he refused to deflate a ball he was carrying.
He argued that it was his ball and there was nowhere written that inflated balls were not allowed on a plane.

Soul Jah Love Fined For Breaching Airport Rule

Soul Jah Love’s management team Rokafellaz Promotions issued a statement saying the Zimdancehall musician is unwell and has missed a number of shows as a result.
This comes after Soul Jah Love missed a number last week including one last night in Johannesburg, South Africa.The statement reads:
<blockquote>We would like to announce that Soul Jah Love is unwell. The artiste, a diabetic patient has for the last week been struggling to get on with his normal day to day life as the condition has got the better of him. Over the last week the artiste has missed shows because of the harsh and unpleasant condition.</blockquote>
Soul Jah Love collapsed in Johannesburg after making an effort to fulfil the 263Nights show but is said to be in a stable condition. Earlier on he had been released from hospital in Harare where he had been admitted. He missed his first flight and the promoter had to make new flight bookings.

Soul Jah Love Hospitalised After Collapsing In South Africa

AFROKINGS who are the organisers of the Zim Connect ’18 concert in the United Kingdom revealed that Soul Jah Love was denied entry into the country because of medical fees owed to the U.K. National Health Service (NHS).

Fans turned violent at Soul Jah Love’s album launch shortly after a guest performance by Silent Killer. The violence saw fans running for life in the near-stampede at Mbare Netball Complex.

The dancehall chanter said that he was in perfect health and that his music career was flourishing. He dismissed the rumours saying that perhaps he had a third leg which was the one amputated.
Speaking to H-Metro, Soul Jah Love said:
<blockquote>I’m perfect and I have been doing shows with both my legs. I do not know where people get it from, maybe I have a third leg that was amputated,
I went to church and I was prayed for, ndikasimuka (and I managed to stand up)
….I went to UK (sic) and the wound was there. I visited doctors there to ensure that it heals as fast as possible but the way it came out leaves me wondering. My fans will be worried</blockquote>
Musaka also warned people not to judge Prophetic Healing and Deliverance founder, Walter Magaya. This was after some people had accused Magaya of being a false prophet and stage managing Soul Jah Love’s healing last year.
<blockquote>I usually maintain my silence and even when some people call me I do not say anything but let me set the record straight. I used to diss him but I know what happened to me. I went there and he prayed for me, ndikasimuka (and I managed to get up). People should not judge. The bible says thou shall not judge and it is true. Peopled have read things about him and they judge but the power of God through his intercession healed me.
People think it is the prophet who heals people but it is God through him. Vamwe vanofunga anekajuju kakarapa Soul Jah Love but it is God (Some people think that Magaya healed me using juju but it is God). I know people say what they want about him but just know that God is there, Mwari (don’t mess with God). Some said I was paid and I do not know where they got that from. Soul Jah Love scoffs at rumours that his leg was amputated, warns people not to judge Magaya

Zimdancehall musician Soul Jah Love was reportedly admitted in an England hospital after his condition worsened during his tour last month. Reports coming from UK are that the Ndini Uya Uya hit-maker’s condition deteriorated whilst he was performing on stage in Northampton on New Year’s Eve.
The Conquering Family boss is said to be still admitted but recovering. However, his manager Wadis Bimha said he was not aware of what was happening to his artiste since he was not part of the UK entourage.

Soul Jah Love still admitted in UK hospital after condition worsens during  tour

A female fan who attended one of <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Soul_Jah_Love">Soul Jah Love</a>’s gigs in Dunstable or Leicester in the United Kingdom posted a video of the <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Zimdancehall">Zimdancehall</a> artist struggling to stand on his feet while performing.
He later performed while seated after throwing away his walking stick. The tour followed his much publicised visit to <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Prophetic_Healing_and_Deliverance_Ministries">PHD Ministries </a>where he reportedly got healed of his diabetes by Prophet <a href="http://www.pindula.co.zw/Walter_Magaya">Walter Magaya</a>.
