Opposition politician Linda Masarira has called on Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) councillors to vote for Temba Mliswa as the next ZIFA president.
Masarira, leader of the LEAD party, argued that Mliswa is the most capable candidate to lead ZIFA into a new era of accountability, professionalism, and growth.
Mliswa is a village head, former ZANU PF Mashonaland West chairman, and former Norton MP.
Masarira praised Mliswa’s no-nonsense approach, and his deep involvement in the sporting sector, saying he has a proven track record of delivering results, positioning him as the ideal leader to revive Zimbabwean football. Said Masarira:

Meanwhile, Mliswa’s ex-girlfriend, Susan Mutami, on Tuesday, warned that Mliswa lacks the necessary decorum for such a prestigious position.
She argued that electing him as ZIFA president could put female soccer players and office staff at risk of potential abuse.
Mutami, who is based in Australia and shares a child, Tinotenda, with Mliswa, also criticised him for being an irresponsible father.
She claimed that Mliswa has never contributed financially to the upbringing of their son.

Temba Mliswa’s ex-girlfriend, Susan Mutami, has called on football stakeholders in Zimbabwe not to elect the former legislator as ZIFA President, asserting that he lacks the decorum required for such a prestigious position.
Mutami, who is based in Australia and has a child with Mliswa, said the aspiring ZIFA President is an irresponsible father.
 In a post on X, she claimed that he has never contributed a single cent towards the upbringing of their son, Tinotenda.
She warned that voting for Mliswa could expose female soccer players and office staff to potential abuse.
Mliswa has fathered more than 12 children with various women, and his breakup with Mutami was paid out on social media. Wrote Mutami:

Susan Mutami Warns Against Electing Temba Mliswa As ZIFA President

Former ZANU PF Mashonaland West chairman Temba Mliswa has entered the race for the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) presidency, vowing to revolutionise the country’s most popular sport.
In an interview with <a href="https://www.manicapost.co.zw/mliswa-vows-to-transform-football/">The Manica Post</a>, Mliswa criticized the stagnation of Zimbabwean football, attributing it to years of poor administration and corruption.
He promised to overhaul the system and transform football into a multi-million-dollar industry. Said Mliswa:

There should be transparency, accountability, and professionalism, and the sport has to be owned by the people, not individuals.
It has to go back to being a family sport where all families go and watch football during weekends. We want to turn football into a multi-million-dollar industry in the country because that is where it is globally.
We cannot have a situation where individuals put money into the game, as no one has enough money to fund the game, but it can generate its own money.
There is a need to incentivise corporates to put money into football, but it requires to be well branded and have a good image.
The face of football must change, it should be of people who are professional, passionate, knowledgeable and can implement and execute proper administration. The game is in need of new faces.

Mliswa said former players must have a role to play in the administration of football in Zimbabwe. He said:

There are big companies that are willing to partner football. ZIFA is in need of efficient administrators who will turn things around.
I will be the link between Parliament and Government because I have worked with them before and I understand Statecraft. I am an advocate against corruption and there is no way I will tolerate it under my watch.
Look at the way FIFA has transformed the game around the world, gate takings are no longer the only source of income for sporting teams.
Stadiums must be full every game, and they only become full when young people are accompanied to matches by their teachers. They then start falling in love with the sport.
The national budget must prioritise sports in general and football in particular. There must be a national strategic plan for football, and at this moment, I cannot give it out because it must come from the people, and this plan must be grassroots-driven from the village to the national level.
We must engage the academia and let them come up with findings on what we need to do to improve our sport.

Mliswa brings extensive experience in football administration, having held several key positions throughout his career.
He served as the former chairman of Dynamos FC and was the fitness coach for the Warriors when they won their first COSAFA Cup in 1997.
He also played a pivotal role as the fitness coach for the 1996 Caps United team which achieved significant success.
During his time in Parliament, Mliswa chaired the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Sports and Recreation, where he gained valuable insights into the sport’s challenges and potential.
Mliswa was instrumental in reviving Mhangura FC and has organised various football tournaments in Karoi and Norton, further demonstrating his commitment to the development of the sport at all levels.

Mliswa Vows To Make Zimbabwean Football A Multi-million-dollar Industry

Former ZANU PF Mashonaland West provincial chairman Temba Mliswa believes that the court’s decision to allow the corruption trial of Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu to be broadcast live indicates the involvement of a hidden influence in the case.
Chimombe and Mpofu have been in custody for over two months on corruption charges totalling more than US$7 million.
Their trial has been postponed to October 22 of this year. The duo appeared in the High Court in Harare on Thursday last week, with the proceedings broadcast live on ZTN.
They are accused of misappropriating approximately US$7.7 million from the Presidential Goat Pass-On Scheme.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Mliswa suggested that an ex-convict is orchestrating events behind the scenes to humiliate the two men.
While Mliswa did not disclose the identity of this individual, some commentators speculate that the arrests of Chimombe and Mpofu are linked to their conflict with Wicknell Chivayo, an ex-convict with close ties to President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The duo had leaked audio recordings alleging corruption involving Chivayo and several high-ranking state officials, and their prosecution is seen as a form of retaliation for disclosing information and “talking while they were eating.”
Mliswa asserted that it is only a matter of time before the tables turn against the ex-convict behind Chimombe and Mpofu’s prosecution. He wrote:

I didn’t want to comment on the Chimomb and Mpofu case but the latest revelations that the case will be broadcasted live has confirmed my suspicions that there is a third hand behind. The case is more political than legal as all vestiges of the latter have fallen away.
The theatrics are efforts of a hidden hand making a statement of power. The basic facts of the case itself would allow, for Chimombe to be given bail long back as he has nothing to do with the case. It’s not his company and he was never part of the negotiations for the goat deal.
Yet the hidden hand seeks to flex its power and flaunt its extravagant leverage in ZANU-PF. We all know who the third hand is but time is our master. An ex-convict can only survive for so long even with all the money to silence and buy support.
Ende ZANU PF hayiiswe muhomwe such that one can wantonly abuse others like this. Some of us experienced the same with ZRP Commissioner Chihuri during his reign.
I was persecuted and dragged through courts unceasingly. Yet Mwari ndewemumhu wese. Nhasi aripi Chihuri?
It’s a warning to all those tugging the strings behind the scenes. When you have access to higher offices utilise it for positive things not wanton abuse of others. If this were the biggest corruption case we could believe the need to televise all that.
Yet even bigger corruption cases, like the Sandura Commission, have been held away from the limelight. It’s very sad how a whole system can be corrupted and abused to pander to the whims of a monied person.
Still, there is a limit to the use of money to buy control and leverage in the party. One day zvinopera chete. We know who is behind all this. God isn’t for one person.

Two men, Chimombe and Mpofu, are in trouble for stealing money from a government scheme. A man named Mliswa says there is someone powerful behind their trial trying to embarrass them. This person might be connected to a man called Chivayo who is close to the President. Mliswa says this hidden influence won't last forever and that God is watching. The trial of Chimombe and Mpofu was shown on TV, which is unusual. Mliswa thinks this is all a political game to show power.

Temba Mliswa Says Hidden Forces At Play In Chimombe And Mpofu's Corruption Trial

Former Norton MP Temba Mliswa, who is now a Village Head, has withdrawn fraud charges against Chegutu RDC Chairperson Tatenda Gwinji.
According to <a href="https://opencouncil.co.zw/mliswa-withdraws-fraud-charges-against-chegutu-rdc-chairperson/">Open Council</a>, Gwinji was taken to court after he failed to deliver a vehicle in return for a US$35 000 payment.
Mliswa allegedly paid around US$10 000 in legal fees for Gwinji. A further US$25 000 was paid to Chegutu RDC.
In return, Gwinji agreed to hand over a Toyota Hilux GD6 vehicle registration number AAE 8748. He, however, reneged on the deal and refused to hand over the vehicle when his trial was completed.
Mliswa then opened a fraud case against Gwinji.
However, the former ZANU PF Mashonaland West chairman revealed that the vehicle has now been delivered resulting in the withdrawal of the charges. In his affidavit signed on 14 May 2024, Mliswa said:

I reported a case of fraud against Tatenda Gwinji in which he had defrauded me of US$35 000.
I now wish to withdraw the charges against the accused person.
(This is) after surrendering the vehicle in question Reg number AAE 8748 Toyota Hilux GD6 registered in the name of Chegutu Rural District Council.

Mliswa had dragged the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) into the matter alleging that a Chegutu-based prosecutor, Abigail Fana, did not handle the case properly. He charged:

In my absence and without knowledge Gwinji was released and Prosecutor Abigail Fana agreed to proceed by way of summons.
I, the complainant, was kept out of the loop &amp; my side of the story wasn’t sought. This is a travesty of justice&amp; will fight this to the fullest.
Fana has been complicit in a lot of shady deals and even benefitted land through Gwinji during his time as Chegutu RDC Chairperson.

However, in a statement issued on 14 May 2024, the NPA rejected the allegations of corruption against Fana, saying the decision not to place Gwinji on remand was made after careful consideration by authorities.

Temba Mliswa Withdraws Fraud Charges Against Chegutu RDC Chairperson

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has responded to allegations of corruption raised by former Norton Member of Parliament, Temba Mliswa, against a Chegutu-based prosecutor, Abigal Fana.
In a statement issued this Tuesday, 14 May 2024, the NPA said that it takes the allegations seriously as they may affect the public’s confidence in the country’s criminal justice delivery system.
The NPA, however, said that in the case cited by Mliswa, the decision not to place the accused person on remand was made after careful consideration by authorities. The statement reads in part:

The Prosecutor General Hon Loyce Matanda-Moyo and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPAZ) take note of the concerns raised by Mr Themba Mliswa regarding how the criminal case of S v TATENDA GWINJI (a fraud case) was handled.
The complaint raises allegations of corruption against a member of our prosecutorial team. We understand that these accusations are very serious and could affect the public’s confidence in our criminal justice delivery system.
In line with our unwavering commitment to the rule of law and the pursuit of justice, we wish to assure the public that we are taking these allegations very seriously.
The NPAZ reiterates that it does not tolerate corruption within its ranks and urges anyone with evidence of such misconduct to come forward.
Concerning this particular case, the decision not to place the accused person on remand was made after careful consideration by the Prosecutor in Chegutu, in consultation with the Chief Public Prosecutor in charge of Mashonaland West Province.
This decision allows for a comprehensive investigation to be conducted, ensuring a thorough assessment of all the evidence before proceeding.
The complainant’s rights are not prejudiced by this decision, and investigations will continue to allow us to determine whether to proceed to trial or not. The NPAZ remains committed to ensuring a fair and just outcome for all parties involved in this case.
Historically, the criminal justice system has been misused by individuals attempting to resolve civil disputes. This practice has led to the waste of valuable resources and hindered the pursuit of genuine criminal investigations.

CATCH &amp; RELEASE: I have experienced this&amp; testify that the problem is with the Prosecutor General’s Office not ZRP.
The Prosecutor of Chegutu Abigail Fana, has been there for over 5 years during which he has been known for corruption. I experienced it in the Tatenda Gwinji case.
Gwinji couldn’t pay for a vehicle and through two payments: US$25K to the Chegutu RDC and US$10K to some lawyers whose services he had used and failed to pay for. I bailed him out in exchange for a vehicle. Now he gets out of jail and yet refuses with the vehicle!
I then reported to the ZRP and would like to thank the Propol for Mash West, Nyazema who acted swiftly. Gwinji was tracked and arrested.
As the amount involved was over US$35K the case was meant for the Commercial Crimes Unit, out of the jurisdiction of the Chegutu office.
However, that didn’t happen as, clandestinely the matter was brought before the court on Friday instead of next week Monday as I had been told.
In my absence and without knowledge Gwinji was released and Prosecutor Abigail Fana agreed to proceed by way of summons.

Fana has been complicit in a lot of shady deals and even benefitted land through Gwinji during his time as Chegutu RDC Chairperson.
We need to fight such people and I have confidence in the new Prosecutor General Justice Matanda-Moyo having seen her exploits at ZACC that she will deliver. I have been advocating against corruption for long and will not be cowed down by such.
One apparent exhibition of the corrupt system in Chegutu is how there hasn’t been a by-election for Gwinji’s Ward despite him having served a 6-month sentence in jail.
The law is clear for office holders in such scenarios as it demands a by-election by virtue of such a sentence.

NPA Dismisses Mliswa's Corruption Allegations Against A Public Prosecutor

Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test results have ended Temba Peter Mliswa’s dispute with his ex-girlfriend Susan Vivian Mutami over the paternity of one of her sons after they proved that the former Norton MP is indeed the biological father.
Mliswa posted the results on his X page conducted by identilab which show that he is the biological father of two-year-old Tinotenda Cripper Mliswa.
The parentage testing procedure report, prepared by one Katherine Pippia reads in part:

<li>I report that a parentage testing procedure being DNA typing has been carried out on the bodily samples contained in the sealed containers bearing the names of the following donors:</li>
<li>a) Temba Peter Mliswa – 01/09/1971 – Putative Father</li>
<li>b) Susan Vivian Mutami – 28/11/1988 – Mother</li>
<li>c) Tinotenda Cripper Mliswa – 20/07/2021 – Child…</li>
</ul>
I report that the results of the parentage testing procedure carried out on the bodily samples of the donors specified above show that Temba Peter Mliswa is not excluded from identification as the father of Tinotenda Cripper Mliswa.
I further report that the probability that Temba Peter Mliswa is the genetic father of Tinotenda Cripper Mliswa has been calculated as follows:
Temba Peter Mliswa is 12 billion times more likely to produce a child with the required alleles than an unrelated man drawn randomly from the African population. This equates to a Relative Chance of Paternity of &gt;99.99999999%.

Mutami has previously taken to social media to lambast Mliswa for allegedly failing to support his child, while the latter had demanded proof that he was the biological father of the child.
Mliswa pledged to fulfil his obligations as the father of the child in question and thanked Mutami for taking care of his son alone. Mliswa wrote on X:

I have some news for you. After the conducting of DNA tests, it has been confirmed that Tinotenda is my son.
I’m glad the matter has been brought to a decisive conclusion allowing me, as a parent, to fulfill my duties with clarity&amp; assuredness. It’s all I sought for in the matter.
I’m thankful for all that Susan Mutami did as a single parent in the interim. She has been a capable mother, loves her child and has done very well. I will now step forward to take over as a responsible adult and parent.
I hope this brings closure to this, as a public matter, allowing us to proceed with the upbringing of this child in privacy.
It’s only because of previous public entanglements that I have felt the need to bring closure to it, in the same public, by announcing these results.
As parents of the child let us respect the future of the child and strive to have commensurate conduct in this matter.

DNA Test Results Confirm Temba Mliswa Is The Father Of Susan Mutami's Son

Former ZANU PF Mashonaland West chairman, Temba Mliswa, who is now a village head, said CCC parliamentarians who have forsaken former party leader Nelson Chamisa will never be forgiven by voters and should consider their current terms, the last in the August house.
Posting on X, Mliswa used former MDC MPs, Brian Dube, and Memory Mbondiya, who sided with Douglas Mwonzora against Chamisa, as examples of “brilliant” lawmakers who are now in political limbo due to wrong choices.
Mliswa, a former MP for Norton, challenged disputed CCC interim secretary-general Sengezo Tshabangu to call for a meeting so that CCC MPs will publicly declare which side they are on. Said Mliswa:

The reality for many who have gone against Chamisa is that politically they are done. For some, it’s their first and last term. This is notwithstanding how brilliant they may be. They will never be forgiven by the people for seeming to aid the ruling party in its agenda.
As it stands, Chamisa simply represents an idea which has momentum and no individual ability can withstand that. We can see with the likes of Brian Dube, a great legal mind and well-resourced person who went with Mwonzora. Same with Mbondiya. Their ability paled against CCC.
It’s the same with myself losing in Norton. I verily understand the dynamics which are that I actually lost to Chamisa and not Richard. People are so, fatally, hungry for change they will embrace anyone standing for the accepted opposition.
Equally, anyone identified with ZANU PF, directly or indirectly, is a goner! It would be proper for Tshabangu to call a meeting with all those who are adamant about being CCC, after Chamisa’s exit. This will allow the political field to be demarcated as we realize who is where.
Those who don’t attend can be recalled and those for Chamisa will simply go to his side. Tshabangu can’t be an SG of recalls only without giving directions to the party’s operations. There is no point taking over a Rolls Royce and failing to maintain it. It exposes you.

Former Harare East MP, Tendai Biti recently declared that he was CCC vice president, days after Chamisa announced his resignation from the party.
Speaking during a recent interview with the army-run NRTV television channel, Biti affirmed his membership in the CCC and stated that he has no plans to leave the party.

Voters Will Never Forgive CCC Officials Who Betrayed Chamisa - Mliswa

Temba Mliswa, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Norton Constituency, has stated that the Speaker of the National Assembly, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Jacob_Mudenda/">Jacob Mudenda</a>, must expel the ZANU PF legislators who were recalled by Tafadzwa Manyika.
Mliswa argues that according to Section 129 (1) k of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, parties have the power to recall MPs, but it is not clear who specifically should carry out the recalls. The cited section reads:

if the Member has ceased to belong to the political party of which he or she was a member when elected to Parliament and the political party concerned, by written notice to the Speaker or the President f the Senate, as the case may be, has declared that the Member has ceased to belong to it.

Temba Mliswa, a former ZANU PF official, believes that the constitution needs to be amended to provide clear guidelines on who has the authority to recall MPs from Parliament. He expresses concern about the current situation where “unknown people” are able to initiate the recall process.
This comes as the opposition <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Citizens%27_Coalition_for_Change/">Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC)</a> has <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/010/18/ccc-approaches-courts-to-reverse-mp-recalls/">taken legal action to challenge the recalling</a> of its <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/010/04/ccc-interim-secretary-general-sengezo-tshabangu-recalls-dozens-of-mps-councillors/">15 Members of Parliament (MPs) and some councillors</a> by <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Sengezo_Tshabangu/">Sengezo Tshabangu</a>, who claims to be the party’s interim Secretary-General. CCC leader <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Nelson_Chamisa/">Nelson Chamisa</a> denies Tshabangu’s membership in the party and disputes the existence of an interim or substantive post in the party.
In another development, Tafadzwa Manyika, who asserts himself as the interim Secretary-General of ZANU PF, sent a letter to Jacob Mudenda, the Speaker of the National Assembly, instructing him to recall 70 ZANU PF legislators. <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Obert_Mpofu/">Obert Mpofu</a>, a former Minister of Mines, currently holds the position of Secretary-General in ZANU PF.
These recalls have created chaos in Parliament, with MPs taking their oaths of office just a month ago. In response, the CCC has disengaged from the National Assembly, Senate, and Local Government Authorities, and has given a 14-day ultimatum for the recalls to be reversed, threatening to withdraw its members if the demands are not met. ZANU PF says it is not bothered by Manyika’s letter to Mudenda.

Mliswa Says Parliament Speaker Mudenda Has No Choice But To Recall ZANU PF MPs

Former Norton MP, Temba Mliswa, has criticised the Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) and churches for doing nothing to push for the release of <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Job_Sikhala">Job Sikhala</a> from prison.
Sikhala is a lawyer and former opposition lawmaker who has been in pre-trial detention at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison since June 2022.
He was arrested in June 2022 and charged with inciting violence when he allegedly threatened to avenge the murder of an opposition activist, <a href="https://pindula.co.zw/Moreblessing_Ali" title="Moreblessing Ali">Moreblessing Ali</a>.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Mliswa said the church has failed to play its role as the conscience of society by not vigorously calling for Sikhala’s release from prison. He said:

This lack of initiative in the Sikhala case also extends to the religious community. Churches have utterly failed to be the conscience of society as they should also be speaking out and making moves to have political prisoners like Job released.
There are many activities that churches can organise to raise pressure against authorities. As an individual I will also do my part as the plight of Job cannot be accepted as a societal norm.

The former Dynamos Football Club fitness trainer also castigated CCC for failing to come up with initiatives to push for Sikhala’s release. He said:

People on my back harping about me blaming the victim in the Job Sikhala case are missing the point.
Whatever injustices committed against Sikhala by those who have unjustly jailed him don’t absolve his own comrades from taking their own initiatives to alleviate his situation.
No wonder Sikhala himself has written about betrayal as reported by [The NewsHawks]. It’s because of the absence of these issues which I have cited. It’s as simple as that.
The opposition has its own responsibility which doesn’t disappear because they are the victim.
We all know the injustices being committed against Sikhala and those who have the powers and levers to change that.
However, as the team on his side, the opposition has its own sphere of influence and responsibility which mandates they have to act and not simply be pliant.

Mliswa believed there are a lot of things CCC can do to alleviate Sikhala’s suffering, such as setting up a Trust to support him. He said:

Moral and financial support has nothing to do with power. Standing in solidarity and putting up his son as a candidate has nothing to do with the Government.
Setting up a Trust to support him and his family, even all other arrested opposition members, is also within its purview.
I have been arrested over 60 times&amp; know what the situation is like for a victim. You can’t tell me about being a jailbird.
Thus I still ask my question, what have you done to stand with Job? There should be a clear standpoint on how a party responds and acts in such situations.
How you react when your member is unjustly treated by the Govt engenders trust and confidence in the rest of the opposition family.
This lackadaisical approach to Job’s case feeds more flesh to conspiracies that he may be inside with the silent agreement of his factional enemies.
Instead of boycotting against ED which practically yields nothing, there should be mass action for Job, calling for his release from prison.
You can’t be like ZANU PF which treats as an enemy anyone who contradicts specific ways of its operations. Criticism can be useful.

Churches Should Demand Job Sikhala's Release, Says Mliswa

Former Norton MP, Temba Mliswa (Independent), has urged President Emmerson Mnangagwa to reach out to opposition CCC party leader Nelson Chamisa to discuss national issues, especially the welfare of the people.
Mnangagwa was sworn in on 04 September for his second and final term as President, following his victory in the 23 August election.
Since then, the Members of Parliament, the two Vice Presidents, and Local Authority representatives have been sworn in.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Mliswa said the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD) is not the right platform for Mnangagwa to engage Chamisa but that the two should rather meet one-on-one. Said Mliswa:

Now that we have completed all political processes from the Presidency to Councils wouldn’t it be wise for the President to meet with Chamisa?
The POLAD platform isn’t ideal &amp; warrants an alternative platform just for the two of them to discuss national issues and progress.
The agenda should focus on the country, the people and their welfare. CCC had its own manifesto relating to the same and that can be incorporated into what the ruling government seeks to do. That inclusive approach will go a long way in helping us as a nation.
I hope and pray for such kind of interactions… We can’t continue having fights and frictions. We must stop being emotional and recognise each other’s role and use in national development.
As it is the opposition has some positions in Gvt but it is ED who has the actual power. There is a need for collaboration for any progress otherwise the opposition won’t have much impact and there will be no synergy between the two.

However, political commentator Brighton Mutebuka said it was premature for Mnangagwa to engage Chamisa as the regional body, SADC “is currently seized with the matter”. He said:

I regret to advise you that ED is currently facing very serious allegations of having contrived with ZEC to steal the election.
SADC is currently seized with the matter, so it’s effectively sub judice. The better counsel is to await the outcome of that process.
At present, despite his best efforts to present a semblance of normalcy, ED is, regrettably technically considered to be masquerading as a democratically elected President of Zimbabwe.

Mliswa Urges Mnangagwa To Scrap POLAD And Engage Chamisa Directly

Former ZANU PF Mashonaland West provincial chairman Temba Mliswa said he intends to run for the presidency in 2028.
Addressing his supporters at Lidiety shopping centre in Norton, Mliswa said he respected President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rule and would want to see him complete his two terms in office until 2028.
Mliswa, who is an independent MP for Norton, was commissioning some of the 30 boreholes he drilled and the distribution of hampers to the underprivileged in Ward 14. He said, as quoted by NewZimbabwe.com:

A teacher aims to be a headmaster, a soldier wishes to become a commander and even a girlfriend has ambitions to become a housewife in future.
So 2028, we will meet at the number one post. The elderly will visit state house barefooted.
You will enjoy seeing a leader who sometimes moves around without bodyguards.
We want a president who goes into communities interacting with the people.
In 2028, l will be on the ballot.

Mliswa said he had a dream several years ago in which “the Lord” told him that he would be in Hurungwe West as an MP, then proceed to Norton before he becomes the President of Zimbabwe.
He criticised former ZANU PF political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere for campaigning for the presidency while in exile. He said:

I spoke to my uncle Kasukuwere challenging him over campaigning in exile.
How can you lead or be elected whilst in South Africa? You cannot let your face arrest whilst you are in hiding.
As for me, l am not afraid of anyone. If l am nabbed by police, my supporters will bring me food in cells.

Mliswa also castigated CCC leader Nelson Chamisa for failing to establish structures for his party.
He said Chamisa’s failure to create structures for CCC made him realise that the presidency is there for the taking, hence his plans to contest in 2028. Said Mliswa:

Mliswa Says He Will Contest In The 2028 Presidential Election

According to independent legislator for Norton, Temba Mliswa, an army of independent legislators will rise to claim positions in Zimbabwe’s National Assembly after next month’s elections and dramatically shift the political landscape.
Mliswa, who was sacked by Zanu PF in 2016 for allegedly dividing the ruling party, said significant damage was inflicted on major political parties after going through divisive internal selection processes ahead of the elections. As a result, many hopefuls were disqualified, leading to discontentment among them. They will now stand as independent candidates. He said:

Internal processes, even in Zanu PF and CCC was not good.
Unfortunately, Christopher Rwodzi is no more. But he was going to win because in his own area in Gutu West he was controlling seven out of 10 wards.
The seven Zanu PF council candidates were supporting him and they never conducted a primary election. He was going to win against others. That has an effect on a party with intentions to have a two-thirds majority in Parliament. Is Zanu PF going to have a Parliamentary majority? I don’t think so! They are likely going to suffer. But with the current situation in CCC, they seem to be giving back the seats that Zanu PF did not deserve to win. Internal processes have been in shambles for both parties. But Zanu PF seems to have addressed their problems better.
The President (Emmerson Mnangagwa) is winning 60/40%. Whether there is going to be a two-thirds majority in Parliament, that is something we are doubtful about. It will be the same with the CCC. They will not control councils, it will not be the same because they (candidates) have equally gone independent.

Mliswa also criticised ZANU PF for blocking aspiring legislator Christopher Rwodzi in the Gutu South constituency. Rwodzi passed away in a traffic accident after mounting an independent candidacy. Mliswa believes that Rwodzi was well-placed to deliver a ZANU PF victory.
Mliswa criticised President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government, saying that corruption has hindered progress and made the people poorer. He believes that Mnangagwa failed to deal with corruption, and his tenure has been undermined by a lack of confidence. Mliswa thinks that Mnangagwa should have included opposition members to rebuild the nation.
Mliswa also stated that the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) was probably going to win the elections if not for the disputed internal selection process. 
He said a survey by Youth Advocacy for Reform and Advocacy predicts that President Emmerson Mnangagwa will win with 60% of the vote, and several other polls in the past week have also predicted a Mnangagwa victory.
Temba Mliswa, the only independent legislator in Zimbabwe’s National Assembly, filed papers last month to contest as an independent in the upcoming August 23 elections. He will defend his position against ZANU PF’s Constance Shamu and the CCC’s Richard Tsvangirai. Meanwhile, Shamu has promised Norton residents that her priority would be ensuring that the town ends its reliance on Harare’s water.

Mliswa Predicts A Shift Of Zimbabwe's Political Landscape After Elections

Norton MP Temba Mliswa (Independent), says registered voters who don’t vote in elections should be penalised for wasting taxpayers’ money.
Commenting on South African opposition leader Julius Malema’s pledge to assist Zimbabweans return home to vote in the 23 August general elections, Mliswa said Zimbabweans have developed apathy towards voting and those who stay at home on voting day should be penalised. <a href="https://twitter.com/TembaMliswa/status/1677221466192982016?s=20">He said</a>:

Julius Malema must understand that the people already here in Zimbabwe don’t want to vote again! Since 2000 the average voter turnout has been a measly 45,67%. The recent March 26 by-elections had even worse turnout figures according to ZEC.
The first task is to convince those who are here to go out and vote. That’s why I had proposed moving a motion that registered voters who don’t vote should be penalized because they are wasting taxpayers’ money.
Those in the diaspora are even worse and won’t come to vote. It’s as simple as that. They can’t be depended upon by any party.
The most depressing about our politics is that people are losing confidence in the electoral system as an avenue for change and development.
Therefore this benefits the incumbent massively. As for Kasukuwere, it’s unthinkable how an effective political campaign can be carried out from outside the country.
With all the facts about our political context, how can one gain followers when they themselves are hiding outside?
What confidence is inspired in potential supporters? Therefore there is no alternative to being on the ground. Social media can only work to a limited extent.
Tyson is my comrade&amp; friend but I will say the truth that he needs to be on the ground if he intends to make an impact.
People may want change but it has to be planned for. It won’t happen by chance without a plan. Look at the Chinese and how they have developed themselves over time.
Be on the ground, 5 years working, and then contest. That will work.

Malema, who leads South Africa’s second-largest opposition party, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), said that his party is ready to hire buses to transport Zimbabweans so they can vote for the government of their choice.

Mliswa Wants A Law That Punishes People Who Don't Vote

The outspoken lawmaker for Norton, Temba Mliswa, has been accused of contributing to the death of a former senior Central Intelligence Organization (CIO) member, Andrew Chitungo. Mliswa, who was present at Chitungo’s burial on Wednesday, posted a message on Twitter expressing his grief and condolences. However, some of Mliswa’s followers accused him of causing Chitungo’s death by leaking recorded conversations that put Chitungo’s life in danger.
One user accused Mliswa of literally killing Chitungo, while another expressed astonishment at Mliswa’s tweet. Wrote Dr Glen Meda:

You sold him out Chief. Why were you recording your conversations with him and why did you leak those conversations knowing you were putting his life in grave danger. You literally killed him. Now you are shedding croco tears!

Chitungo reportedly died on Friday at West End Hospital after being admitted with breathing problems and energy loss. He was removed from President Mnangagwa’s close security team last year after a recorded call with Mliswa and former Energy Minister Fortune Chasi was leaked in which he called Mnangagwa corrupt. 
<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/2023/06/06/senior-central-intelligence-organisation-officer-dies/">Andrew Chitungo passed away on Friday last week</a> at West End Hospital after being admitted with breathing problems and energy loss.
He had worked under former President Robert Mugabe, Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga, and later President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Chitungo was removed from Mnangagwa’s close security team last year after a leaked recorded call with independent Norton MP Temba Mliswa and former Energy Minister Fortune Chasi.
He was also involved in running a security company and had startup business interests in Harare. Chitungo’s family, relatives, and friends described him as a “man of the people”, a “family man”, and a “reliable professional” who was good-natured, calm, and amicable.

Norton MP Temba Mliswa Accused Of Contributing To Former CIO Member's Death

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Temba_Mliswa/">Temba Mliswa</a>, an independent legislator in Norton, has challenged Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa to respond to allegations made in Al Jazeera’s Gold Mafia investigative documentary.
The documentary series claims that the First Family and senior government officials are involved in gold and money laundering activities.
Mnangagwa has not commented on the issue, but Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa has said that the government is taking the allegations seriously and is investigating.

The police have not arrested Ewan MacMillan and Simon Rudland because they had the right documentation from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe as they were flying gold above board with Emirates coming back with cash and it is documented. What wrong have they done?
Most of these people saw an opportunity as business people, they are capitalists and they seized an opportunity. The question is on leadership. They have done nothing wrong, they are making their own money, their duty is to make money and any opportunity they will seize on it they are exonerated.
The number one citizen, the President has got to respond to these issues and (that’s my) advice, it’s either he takes it or he does not and advice does not have to go through one to nine.

Temba Mliswa questioned why President Mnangagwa had not responded to the allegations in the Gold Mafia documentary. He also criticized the presidential spokesperson, George Charamba, for not doing a good job in responding to the issue.
Mliswa was expelled from the Zanu PF party in 2015 over allegations of various charges, including insubordination and undermining the party’s authority.

Mliswa Challenges Mnangagwa On Gold Mafia Allegations

Norton MP Temba Mliswa (Independent), claims the constituency delimitation exercise by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) reduced ZANU PF’s support base in Norton.
ZANU PF Mashonaland West provincial Women’s League chairperson, Constance Shamu was elected the party’s candidate for Norton in upcoming elections during primary elections held last month.
Shamu will likely face Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC)’s Richard Tsvangirai.
Posting on Twitter recently, Presidential spokesperson, George Charamba, asserted that males who are contesting against aspiring female candidates must prepare for exit. Wrote Charamba:

In response, Mliswa claimed ZANU PF lost the little support it had in Norton due to the delimitation exercise. He said:

ZANU PF cannot win there especially now that the two rural wards in which it had a veneer of control are gone due to delimitation.

Mliswa owes his incumbency to the MDC Alliance’s benevolence after the opposition party opted not to field a candidate in Norton in 2018.

ZEC Delimitation Reduced ZANU PF's Support In Norton - Mliswa

Temba Mliswa has demanded that the Government issue a statement and clear the air on the various allegations raised by the Al Jazeera documentary, Gold Mafia.
The Gold Mafia documentary is a four-part investigation by Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit (I-Unit) which was aired over a four-week period.
Mliswa, an independent MP (Norton), argued that the Government should state its position as many explanations have been given by officials who were caught on camera incriminating themselves and also name-dropping in front of undercover journalists. Said Mliswa:

The Gold Mafia issue has become the prime topic and I think Gvt should come out with a statement on its position.
There have been many accounts flying around. This has created more confusion and cemented the perception that there are more shady deals occurring.
First, there were stories about sanctions-busting; then RBZ said gold isn’t under sanctions and now we hear that it was all an intelligence operation, yet some accounts were reportedly frozen.
Clearly, there is a need for a statement from Gvt stating which is which.
This is why I also stated that authorities should have waited for the completion of the documentary before giving statements to avoid a scenario like this one.
Now we have a sea of narratives opposing each other and some lacking the slightest iota of sense they are simply dubious!

The documentary exposed an alleged series of gold smuggling gangs in Southern Africa that help criminals launder hundreds of millions of dollars.
The gang members get rich while plundering their nations and keeping millions in abject poverty.
They use gold to turn dirty cash into clean, seemingly legitimate money for those with large amounts of unaccounted wealth.
The criminals do so by using a complex web of companies, counterfeit identities and fake documents.
One of the central figures in the documentary is Zimbabwe’s Ambassador at Large and Presidential Envoy to Europe and the Americas, Uebert Angel.
Angel allegedly offered to launder cash into the country using his diplomatic status and was secretly recorded boasting about his close relations with Mnangagwa and how much power he wields as a result.
His assets were recently frozen by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s Financial Intelligence Unit.
Angel, however, claims his words and actions filmed by Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit (I-Unit), were staged and a classified national intelligence operation.
Addressing journalists in Harare on Friday soon after the final episode of the Gold Mafia documentary titled “Have The King With You”,  was aired, Angel’s lawyer Lovemore Madhuku, said his client was working with national intelligence.

Temba Mliswa Challenges Government To Issue Statement On "Gold Mafia"

Norton legislator Temba Mliswa (Independent) has suggested that the country should go for a referendum for the electorate to decide whether to go ahead with the 2023 general elections or postpone them.
Zimbabwe is scheduled to hold general elections this year between 26 July and 26 August.
The Constitution of Zimbabwe makes it clear that elections should be conducted every five years, and the term of office of elected government officers is strictly five years.
Mliswa claimed that Zimbabweans are tired of elections as they have failed to bring about substantial socio-economic change. He said:

The prevailing issue which has resulted in Mwonzora going to court is the culpability of all those who failed to play their role and only came to life after ZEC delivered the final report.
However, going forward, as I have already said in an interview with Guthrie Munyuki, a referendum could be a good idea at this moment.
The country needs a referendum to hear what the people say about the whole election debate and implement that.
People are tired of elections &amp; they have failed to bring about any substantial socio-economic change.
Instead of acknowledging this reality, there has been a lot of posturing by politicians across the board. There is always the mirage that the next election is it!
The opposition can’t campaign openly; the voter’s roll isn’t available and it’s clear from the outset that whatever results will come out will be contentious and won’t advance the country one step.
The reforms which the opposition has been clamouring for have not been realized!
The ingredients for another contentious electoral season are there and yet we are plowing full-steam ahead as if things have changed. They haven’t.
It’s just that in the frenetic excitement of polls, many lose their marbles and only awake after.

Zimbabweans Are Tired Of Elections, Says Temba Mliswa

Members of Parliament (MPs) have demanded their sitting allowances which have not been paid for nearly five months.
On Wednesday, Norton MP, Temba Mliswa (Independent), raised a point of privilege in the National Assembly saying MPs have not received their allowances since September 2022. <a href="https://www.newsday.co.zw/local-news/article/200007296/mps-raise-new-demands">NewsDay</a> quoted Mliswa as saying:
My point of national interest is sad because we seem to be seized with it and I know that it has a lot of unnecessary responsibility.

It is about the welfare of the MPs, in particular, their outstanding allowances — they have not received their outstanding allowances since September.
On allowances, we did not get our monies, especially after coming from the pre-budget seminar.
This was in November, so we actually thought that since we had pre-budget in November, all the outstanding issues would be taken care of.
We then went on a break; there are field visits that are also outstanding in terms of payments.
The rate was $600 to US$1 at that time and now it has gone to $1 200, so we are merely getting half of what we were supposed to get.
So it is really out of that and the pre-budget Mr. Speaker Sir, also alluded to the fact that the Standing Orders Committee would sit down to come up with a way forward in terms of accommodation and allowances for MPs for those who do not stay in hotels.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Jacob Mudenda, then promised to take up the matter with the Minister of Finance and Economic Development Mthuli Ncube.
Towards the end of 2022, it emerged that the Government had offered a US$40 000 loan to each sitting MP, US$500 000 for individual Cabinet ministers, and US$350 000 for their deputies.

MPs' Sitting Allowances Unpaid Since September 2022

Norton Member of Parliament (MP), <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Temba_Mliswa">Temba Mliswa</a>, has said the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) must tell <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/zanu-pf-mp-justice-mayor-wadyajena-arrested/">where the US$5 million went</a> if the authority does not have evidence against his Gokwe-Nembuya counterpart, <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Justice_Mayor_Wadyajena">Justice Mayor Wadyajena</a>.
Mliswa’s remarks come barely days after Wadyajena (ZANU PF) was <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/wadyajena-cottco-managers-removed-from-remand/">acquitted in a fraud case</a> in which he was being accused of embezzling COTTCO funds meant for acquiring bale cables and buying trucks.
Wadyajena was jointly charged with COTTCO bosses Pius Manamike, Maxmore Njanji, Chiedza Danha and Fortunate Molai. 
In a series of Twitter posts seen by Pindula News, Mliswa said the money cannot just vanish. We present the posts below:

Makamure has never harboured any ambitions to be a legislator and he made a name and money a long time ago. That he even got into ZACC is out of respect for the President. He didn’t need the position, the same way Doug Munatsi got into ZIDA of respect not need.
His organisation, @SAPST has always worked with Parliament and it is contrived nonsense that he was working with the Americans. How did the CIO miss that when they vetted the organisation or him? Makamure is an upstanding citizen who is surely regretting working for the Gvt.
It’s very unfortunate when upstanding citizens are dragged into the mud like this by dirty politicians using the power of money to capture the courts and the media. We now know that many criminals are joining @ZANUPF_Official because they want to be protected. It’s a shame.
Ultimately such decisions and actions are an egg to the face of the ruling party. It shows all the talk about fighting against corruption is empty. How do you convince us that you are serious about fighting corruption when such cases flounder?
Why not just give ZACC a certificate to prosecute its own cases if you are serious? They have been asking for it but Gvt is refusing yet the NPA is consistently failing to get convictions. How do you win 4 cases out of 180 dockets&amp; maintain a straight face?
We can’t have a country where the system is only effective in persecuting those who speak out but redundant on progressive issues. Hon Sikhala is there languishing in remand, I have suffered the same with Chihuri but every dog has its day. Seasons pass and the weather changes.
Nobody is convinced that Gvt will effectively deal with corruption. It has only become efficient against those who truly stand up for the people. Biti, Sikhala, myself and many others, we see it. Asi ushe madzoro. That’s a timeous prophecy that requires no invocation to manifest.
We saw those who abused their offices and the law under Mugabe. Where are they now? Politicians still fail to learn and appreciate this epic dictate of life. What goes around comes around. To be safe just do the right things when you have the power.

"If There's No Evidence Against Wadyajena, Where Did The US$5 million Go?" - Mliswa

Norton MP Temba Mliswa (Independent), has criticised what he considers political opportunists who come from nowhere just before elections, saying they take the electorate for granted.
Mliswa claimed that Zimbabwe’s political arena “has become a field of dull people” who really do not care about the welfare of the people.
The former ZANU PF Mashonaland West chairman identified Democratic Union of Zimbabwe (DUZ) leader, Robert Chapman and the former leader of the Alliance for People’s Agenda (APA) Nkosana Moyo as some of the politicians who emerged out of nowhere with nothing to offer. Robert Chapman Is A Clown, Says Mliswa

An unnamed girl was allegedly impregnated by a Member of Parliament and when she came to Parliament to confront the alleged father, she was impregnated by another legislator.
This was said by Norton MP, Temba Mliswa (Independent), as he interrupted the debate on the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission preliminary delimitation report in the National Assembly on Tuesday.
Mliswa challenged male legislators to be responsible and support their children when they impregnate girls. He said:

“Girl” Impregnated By Two Zimbabwe MPs, Says Mliswa

Norton legislator, Temba Mliswa (Independent) has criticised Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Deputy Minister, Tinoda Machakaire for claiming that Winky D’s latest album, Eureka, is causing “chaos” in the country.
Machakaire said the Zimdancehall chanter should desist from attacking the government and instead, use the right structures to air his grievances.
According to journalist Brezhnev Malaba, one of Winky D’s tracks on the album “Ibotso” portrays Zimbabwe as a crime scene, a long-decayed society in which the residents naively hope things will miraculously change for the better.
Responding to Machakaire’s utterances, Mliswa said there is nothing wrong with Winky D bringing up pertinent issues which are plaguing this country. He said:

The truth of the matter is that Winky D never insulted, attacked, or cursed anyone. He has created no chaos.
He simply brought up pertinent issues which are plaguing this country as everyone knows. His model and platforms are very much on point as a musician.

He is an artist. Moda ayimbe zvemadrugs nerudo zvega here? This is a form of fascist censorship you are now advancing.
His way of addressing and raising them, through music, is adequate and correct all the way.

Winky D More Patriotic Than "Bootlicking" DJs And Musicians - Mliswa

Norton Member of Parliament, Temba Mliswa (Independent) has accused the government of corruption and misinformation after the number of war veterans rose from 34 000 to 142 000 since 1997.
Finance and Economic Development minister Mthuli Ncube announced plans to disburse US$57.5 million to war veterans when he presented his 2023 national budget before Parliament in November.
However, during the debate in the National Assembly last week on the 2023 national budget, Mliswa queried how the number of ex-combatants has grown from 34 000 in 1997 to 142 000 in 2022. He said:

The war veterans population shows the highest level of corruption, misinformation, and its criminal nature that there is no way war veterans can increase from 34 000 to 142 000 in 2022.
Despite that increase, what boggles my mind is that 142 000 war veterans have been given $46 billion, which is US$57.5 million, 1% of the total budget while social protection has been given $50 billion, which is about US$63 million, 1.12% of the total budget.

Mliswa argued that the funds should have been used to feed and pay school fees for millions of children who are in dire need of assistance. He said:

This is despite the fact that the Zimbabwe Social Protection Unit is in a dire situation with 3.8 million rural people facing food starvation and 1.6 million facing urban starvation.
There are 4.6 million children living with severe acute malnutrition and 4.8 million in need of the Basic Education Assistance Module, known as BEAM.
Therefore, if one is to take into account these allocations, it is fair to argue that the budget is not inclusive and it disregards the plight of the marginalised and vulnerable citizens.

Mliswa Queries Number Of War Veterans

<a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Norton">Norton</a> Member of Parliament (MP), <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Temba_Mliswa">Temba Mliswa</a> has said there are some positives to pick from <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Emmerson_Mnangagwa">President Emmerson Mnangagwa</a>‘s appointments to the ruling ZAN PF’s Politburo.
The ZANU PF Politburo is the party’s highest decision-making body outside Congress.
Mnangagwa this Friday announced members of the <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Zanu-PF_Politiburo">ZANU PF Politburo</a>, in a development that saw the First Lady <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Auxilia_Mnangagwa">Auxilia Mnangagwa</a> appointed <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/full-list-president-mnangagwa-appoints-first-lady-to-zanu-politburo/">as the Secretary for Tourism and Hospitality. </a>
In a Twitter thread seen by Pindula News, Mliswa, a former ZANU PF legislator said the inclusion of some young people is a positive thing. He said:

That’s a great appointment as we go towards the elections. Brings a lot of credibility too. He is a stickler for doing things according to procedure. That’s why he is called the Headmaster.
Tino Machakaire as a youth leader is another good move. It may be a bit late but vital all the same. He will turn around the youth wing from the thuggish entity it was becoming under <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Kindness_Paradza">Paradza</a>, Masenda and even Mukupe who was telling people he will be in the PB.
Machakaire is suave&amp; wise to interact with everyone, restoring respect&amp; order. If the likes of Mukupe had come in then the party would have totally lost it. He is the kind that will abuse positions for business. He was telling people that he had lobbied enough to be in the PB!
Now that he isn’t part of it, it’s a sigh of relief for the people of Hurungwe because they would have been abused because of that position. Mwari anzwa minamato yavo. If people gloat over being in the Central Committee, him being in the PB would have been a disaster.
The return of <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Supa_Mandiwanzira">Supa Mandiwanzira</a> is also a good move. Another young politician. Positive move on <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Tendai_Chirau">Chirau</a> again. The guy is disciplined as a party cadre. The PB list is a little skewed on the gender equality side though.
The inclusion of young people like <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Tino_Machakaire">Tino Machakaire</a> is important as it counters solidly the alternative opposition figures such <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Gift_Ostallos_Siziba">Ostallos</a> who is a brilliant orator. Machakaire, unlike Ostallos is a politician while the latter remains largely an activist.

Mliswa Finds Some Positives In President Mnangagwa's Politburo Appointments

Norton legislator (independent), <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Temba_Mliswa">Temba Mliswa</a>, has said the ruling ZANU PF must let the late former president <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Robert_Mugabe">Robert Mugabe</a> rest after the <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/zanu-pf-blames-mugabe-for-electricity-crisis/">party blamed Zimbabwe’s founding leader for the power crisis.</a>
Speaking in a recent interview with South African broadcaster eNCA, ZANU PF spokesperson <a href="https://www.pindula.co.zw/Christopher_Mutsvangwa">Christopher Mutsvangwa</a> said Mugabe’s mismanagement of the country over the past two decades was to blame for the current energy crisis. He said:

The power crisis that the country is facing currently is a product of years of neglect within Zimbabwe in particular.
The mismanagement, the arm-fisted mismanagement of the last two decades of Mugabe and his G40s obviously has a negative pull.
It is retarding the speed of recovery, but you can’t doubt that recovery is going on.

In response, Mliswa said ZANU PF must just admit failure to rectify the problem. Mliswa, a former ZAU PF MP said:

These guys governed together with Mugabe for 37 years. They even had slogans, Mugabe tofa naye [we’ll die with him]. Now he is gone they want to blame him for the rot. It’s rather sad. The honorable thing would be to admit that we made mistakes and will work to rectify them.
It’s an indictment of poor leadership, failing to take responsibility for anything, always finding scapegoats. Is there evidence that you tried to correct Mugabe from making the error? Without that you are equally culpable. Let the man rest in peace.

Power Crisis: Mliswa Says ZANU PF Must Let Mugabe Rest

The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Tsitsi Gezi on Tuesday castigated Members of Parliament across the political divide for “behaving like drunkards”.
This was after she struggled to bring the House to order for about 15 minutes during a heated argument between ZANU PF and MDC MPs on one side and CCC MPs on the other side.
The chaos was triggered by Norton MP Temba Mliswa (Independent), who had accused CCC leader Nelson Chamisa of “hypocrisy” over the US$40 000 loans given to MPs and this angered CCC MPs.
Cabinet ministers were each offered US$500 000, deputy ministers US$350 000 and MPs US$40 000 as loans by the government.
Chamisa then criticised his own MPs for accepting the US$40 000 loans and also condemned the government for its seeming misplaced priorities.
Mliswa raised a matter of national interest on the welfare of legislators, saying MPs in Zimbabwe were the least paid in the region, and then went on to attack Chamisa. He said:

I would also want leaders of other political parties, especially Advocate Chamisa, to really understand — him being a lawyer — that MPs have a contract with Parliament; not with the party when they are here. I don’t know why he gets involved.
He must not whip them (MPs) on contractual issues. He was once an MP. I expected him to stand for other MPs because he knows how we have suffered.
We don’t want such hypocrisy from any leader. Let him deal with putting out his structures at CCC while here in Parliament, we get our money.

ZANU PF and MDC Alliance legislators cheered Mliswa, but CCC MPs were displeased.
Mbizo MP Settlement Chikwinya then raised a point of order and accused Mliswa of denigrating Chamisa. Said Chikwinya:

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Chides MPs For "Behaving Like Drunkards"

Norton Member of Parliament (independent), Temba Mliswa, has said it will be hard for the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) to raise rigging allegations in the 2023 elections when it is accepting the outcome of by-elections.
In a Twitter thread seen by Pindula News, Mliswa said:

We have just had by-elections and the opposition @CCCZimbabwe has not commented to state any complaints of rigging. It should be aware that acceptance of these results and attendant results will make it hard to raise rigging allegations in 2023 elections.
They have shown that there is no problem as of now, so they should continue doing whatever they are doing now to protect their votes. I have also said it’s dangerous to constantly raise accusations of rigging as it creates voter apathy. You essentially rig yourself.

However, CCC has previously complained about voter intimidation and vote-buying.
Following the March 26, 2022 by-elections, the opposition party led by Nelson Chamisa, a former minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services said it won the majority “despite the violence by ZANU PF” 
In October, the party said <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/ccc-says-its-not-surprised-by-loss-in-by-elections/">it was not surprised by the loss</a> in the <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/zec-releases-results-of-22-october-2022-by-elections/">by-elections</a> adding that <a href="https://zero.pindula.co.zw/matobo-violence-mugwadi-says-its-clear-ccc-members-were-chasing-zanu-pf-vehicles/">violence</a> employed by the ruling ZANU PF party against its people contributed very much to the outcome.
the Zimbabwe Election Support Network urged the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) and
the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC) to ensure a peaceful and enabling environment that satisfies credible elections. 
Zimbabwe Election Advocacy Trust director Ignatious Sadziwa said the elections failed the credibility and legitimacy test, hence they are far from being free and fair.

"It Will Be Hard For CCC To Raise Rigging Allegations In 2023 Elections" - Mliswa

Independent MP, Temba Mliswa (Norton), has challenged the opposition to be consistent and show decisive leadership if it truly habours ambitions of forming the next government.
Mliswa said the opposition has over the years changed its position on important issues that affect the nation such as land reform, sanctions, and power-sharing. He said:

The opposition is failing to be a veritable alternative as it continues dithering over issues exhibiting a lack of consistency and focus.
One day they stand for one thing and the next they are lamenting or denying alignment with the same. How can they get into power?
On Land Reform, they refused to participate saying it’s a [ZANU PF] thing. They attacked us for getting land.
Today they are struggling and trying to find land for agricultural business. Have they changed their position or what? Now they say it was good!
They said Mugabe was illegitimate and yet still went into a GNU with him as the head. The same with ED. They walked out and protested accusing him of being illegitimate.
Yet today they are accepting the benefits and perks from his tenure and leadership.
Today they say we never called for sanctions and disavow any links to them. Yet at their pronouncement they celebrated them as an international political masterstroke against the Govt.
Now they deny any links to them. Where do they stand then? Leadership requires decisiveness.
[Douglas Mwonzora] carried out a purging campaign recalling their MPs&amp; Councilors and they cried foul. I raised a motion to have Section 129(1)(k) under which recalls happen &amp; they didn’t support it.
Only Hon Mushoriwa debated. Yet it affected them not me. So what do they want?
Today Gvt offers loans and they accept them yet their leader says something else different. This is despite that he himself has received equivalent perks during the Mugabe tenure.
Instead of supporting us, he goes against us, succumbing to ill-informed mob pressure.
In this medley of contradictions, fluctuations and dissonance, it’s apparent that the opposition isn’t providing a cohesive front nor is it giving the electorate confidence.
You cannot be constantly swayed by public pressure to accept impractical things. Show some spine!
I’m my own person and will support anything that is progressive and developmental. It doesn’t matter if it’s [ZANU PF] or [CCC] who have said it or done it. The path of principles remains true and straight in whatever form or nature.
Equally, populism is dangerous. You cannot have a whole party subsisting on the euphoria and energy of populism.
It’s not a veritable foundation to claim power on. In fact, populism, like a wave, will subside and people will want to see substance and focus not drama.
Nelson Chamisa] succumbed to public pressure and went against his own MPs but in doing so contradicted his own past actions.
That’s not a spine for leadership. Stick to the truth even against the masses. Truth and time will exonerate and justify you.
