The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has announced the establishment of the Zimbabwean Business Council whose main objective is to promote the commercial interests of Zimbabwe and Zimbabwean businesses in Dubai.
The business council also aims to promote Zimbabwe-owned UAE-registered companies as well as their goods and services in the United Arab Emirates.
Maha Al Gargawi, Executive Director of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers said:

We aim to create new channels of economic cooperation between business communities in the emirate and promising markets around the world.
Covering markets of strategic importance to Dubai, business councils provide the right platforms for businesses in the UAE and abroad to connect, collaborate and build mutually beneficial partnerships. 
These councils will support us as we further expand our presence across Africa, Latin America and the Middle East and attract more companies and investment from these regions.
</blockquote>
In his remarks on the establishment of the new business council, Rungano Innocent Nyaude, one of the founding members of the council, said:

The Zimbabwean Business Council in the UAE looks to play a pivotal role in growing the Dubai-Zimbabwe business relations by bringing together Zimbabwean businesses operating in Dubai, building an ecosystem of coordination and networking which will in turn build further trade corridors between the UAE and Zimbabwe.
The UAE is Zimbabwe’s second-largest export destination market and through coordination with stakeholders, it is our mission to play a part in strengthening the trade relations between the two countries and grow the business footprint of Zimbabweans in the UAE.
</blockquote>
Bilateral trade between the UAE and Zimbabwe grew significantly between 2019 and 2021.
UAE imports from Zimbabwe reached US$2.3 billion in 2021 compared to US$1.5 billion in 2020 and US$904 million in 2019, while UAE exports to Zimbabwe were US$209 million in 2021.

Zimbabwe Business Council Established In Dubai

The Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Kazembe Kazembe, is in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on an official visit.
According to the <a href="https://www.wam.ae/en/details/1395303093733">Emirates News Agency</a>, Kazembe visited the Dubai Police General Headquarters and Dubai Smart Police Station (SPS) at City Walk recently.
Kazembe was welcomed by Major General Dr Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of Jebel Ali police station, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Police Stations and a number of senior officers. Reported the Emirates News Agency:

The delegation was introduced to the various services provided by the Dubai Smart Police Station (SPS) to the customers in 7 languages around the clock and without human intervention, including 27 key services, such as reporting crimes and traffic incidents, as well as a further 33 community-based services, which range from obtaining a good-conduct certificate to social support for victims of family violence.
They were accompanied to the Command and Control Centre where they were briefed about the latest services and initiatives that enhance security and safety in the emirate.
They also learned about the centre’s equipment and latest additions such as the 3D map that covers Dubai and the patrol dispatching system that ensures swift and efficient response to reports and emergency calls.
They also toured both the Director of the General Directorate of Traffic and the General Department of Criminal Investigation and presented by Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui and Major General Jamal Salem Al Jalaf the best practices and services provided by the Departments in combating organised and financial transnational crimes and other topics of mutual interests.
Toward the end of the visit, Kazembe expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and praised Dubai Police’s utilisation of the latest technologies.
