Clients are advised that they can register newly imported or freshly built motor vehicle at selected Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) offices nationwide.
All that clients need to do is bring two sets of the following documents, one being the original set and the other being photocopies:

<li>Customs Clearance Certificate (CCC)</li>
<li>Form 49 payment receipt/ Form 21 – Bill of entry plus release order.</li>
<li>Valid electronic police clearance (NB. it expires after 14 days).</li>
<li>Proof of residence for the applicant which is not more than three months from the date of issue.</li>
<li>Photocopy of national identity document for the person whose name appears on the CCC.</li>
<li>Valid Motor Vehicle Insurance.</li>
<li>Where the owner does not present themselves at the time of registration, an affidavit authorising registration of the vehicle on their behalf, oran appointed agent to carry out the process on their behalf is required.</li>
<li>Valid ZIMRA stamped Clearing Agent identity card – this applies to clearing agents appointed by the owner of the vehicle to undertake the registration on their behalf.</li>
<li>In the case of companies for commercial vehicles, certificate of incorporation and a valid tax clearance certificate (ITF263) or payment of presumptive tax.</li>
<li>In the case of an application for red on white number plates, Road Operators’ Licence issued by the Ministry of Transport and payment of presumptive tax.</li>
<li>Tax invoice in the case where the motor vehicle was bought from a motor vehicle dealer such as Willowvale Mazda Motor Industry and other dealers.</li>

ZIMRA Statement On Registration Of Newly-imported And Freshly-built Vehicles {Full Text}

<blockquote>IMPORTATION AND EXPORTATION OF CURRENCY BY TRAVELLERS.
The importation and exportation of currency into and out of Zimbabwe is governed by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) in terms of the Exchange Control Act [Chapter 22:05] as read with Exchange Control Regulations Statutory Instrument 109 of 1996 as read with Statutory Instrument 93 of 2017 
IMPORTATION 
The importation of any currency into Zimbabwe by travellers is not restricted. This implies that any person can bring in any amount of currency into Zimbabwe. However, all travellers are encouraged to complete a Customs Declaration Form (Form 47) and declare the currency in their possession at the time of entry. 
The processed declaration form may be used: 
• To support re-export of any balance of currency (for non-residents) at the end of the visit to Zimbabwe should it exceed the allowed export thresholds which are currently two thousand united states dollars or its equivalent in any other currency including Zimbabwean bond notes and coins. 
• For Acquittal of C.D.1 forms in the case of exporters of goods. 
• As proof of the source of funds in some instances where the proof is required. 
EXPORTATION 
The exportation of currency from Zimbabwe is restricted. 
Statutory Instrument 93 of 2017 s14….…”the amount of currency that a person who is about to leave Zimbabwe may possess, without authorization in terms of section 22 of the principal regulations in the departure or transit lounge of an airport or other port, is a total of two thousand United States dollars, or its equivalent in any or combination of currencies or in bond notes or coins’’… 
Please note that the amount of currency that a person who is about to leave Zimbabwe may possess, without authorisation in the departure lounge of an airport or any other port is a total of USD$2000 in any currency or combination of currencies or in bond notes or coins.
By Non-Zimbabwean Residents 
Non-Zimbabwean residents who have currencies above the allowable threshold may be allowed to export the amount equal to or the balance of declared currencies upon arrival. Any excess currency found in possession of travellers without authority shall be seized and may be forfeited to the State. 
By Zimbabwean Residents 
Zimbabwean residents who have currencies above the allowable threshold may be allowed to export currency only with the authorization from The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. In the event that the traveller does not have such an authorisation, no exportation maybe allowed regardless of the fact the currency was declared upon arrival.
All travellers leaving Zimbabwe are urged to strictly adhere to the limits. Any excess currency found in possession of travellers without authority shall be seized and may be forfeited to the State.

Speaking during a media workshop in Bulawayo yesterday, Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) acting Commissioner-General Happias Kuzvinzwa said the revenue collector has since started forcing its workers to declare their assets in an effort to fight corruption.
Said Kuzvinzwa:
<blockquote>We at Zimra are fighting corruption from within our officers to the point where we have taken it upon ourselves to demand our employees to declare their assets. If you fail to disclose your source of that property, then a disciplinary procedure is taken and, as we speak, we have dealt with some of our officers and those who were proven to be corrupt have been dismissed.</blockquote>
Kuzvinzwa also encouraged people to report incidents of corruption and stated that they have a whistleblower facility whereby an individual who provides specific information which results in the recovery of revenue is entitled to 10% of the recovered amount.

Zimra starts forcing workers to declare assets

The  Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) says it has met and surpassed its revenue collection target for the first quarter of 2017. It exceeded the $812 target by 6 percent and managed to collect $862.47 million.
In a statement, Zimra said:
<blockquote>Zimra is pleased to advise the nation that the revenue target for the first quarter of 2017, which stood at $812.94 million, has been surpassed, courtesy of your tax compliance and support.
Gross revenue collections for the first quarter amounted to $862.47 million and were six percent above target. Net collections after refunds were two percent above target and amounted to $826.63 million</blockquote>

Zimra surpasses first quarter revenue collection targets by 6 percent

ZIMRA’s acting commissioner general, Happias Kuzvinzwa has said that the revenue collector will soon start attaching properties belonging to tax evaders. Kuzvinzwa revealed that Zimra was facing difficulties in growing its tax base due to tax evasion and loopholes in the country’s tax laws.  Speaking to the Financial Gazette Kuzvinzwa said:
<blockquote>(But) let me say to those who are playing ‘catch me if you can game’ (that) soon the law will catch up with them. We want to make sure we get rid of free riders. In some countries they send tax dodgers to prison. After that they come back and pay taxes due. In Zimbabwe, we have not gone that far. We have been garnishing (accounts) as a last resort. And when we do that, we will only be following the footprint of money owed to government.
Our patience, however, is running out. We would soon start attaching properties.</blockquote>
