Background
Cello Culture was born Tinashe Gamure Munengami on September 28, 1990 in Mbare and is the first-born child in a family of three.[1] He attended Chitsere Primary School before moving to Harare High School for his secondary education.[1] Cello Culture is a nephew to the late Culture T, who was a founding member of popular reggae outfit Transit Crew.
Music career
It is said that Cello Culture started singing at a very tender age drawing much inspiration from his uncle Culture T. He broke into the limelight with hits such as "Minana" which also features another Zim dancehall veteran, Soul Jah Love. The track received widespread airplay due to its hard-hitting lyrics on the way in which religion has become money centred and miracle performance. Cello is now the lead vocalist of the group Transit Crew since 2011. He has also worked with other prominent artists such as Kinnah and Taurai Mandebvu.[1]
