Wonder Sithole

Wonder Sithole is a Zimbabwean footballer who was born on 2 October 1982. He is a former player for Dynamos Football Club as an attacking midfielder. He was part of the Dynamos team that reached the 2008 African Champions League semi finals which they lost to Cameroonian side Coton Sport. He won league titles at Dynamos during his time as well as other cups as a player. He is a current Committee member of the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ).

Football career

Wonder Sithole started his career playing for lower league teams that included Redwing Mine until he was signed by Masvingo United were he made a name for himself and attracted the eye of the then Dynamos coach David Mandigora in 2008 and eventually signed up by Dynamos Football Club for the 2008 season. Some of the career highlights of Sithole's stint with the Glamour boys include reaching the semi-final of the African Champions League in 2008 in a team which featured other Dembare legends such as Desmond Maringwa, Edward Sadomba, Justice Majabvi, Murape Murape among others under the guidance of David Mandigora. Dembare would go on to lose the semi-final to Coton Sport 5-0 on aggregate. Sithole was also part of the Elvis Chiweshe coached side that reached the mini league stage of the aforementioned competition in 2010 winning only once and Sithole was the goalscorer in that 1-0 win at Rufaro Stadium. The former Dembare midfielder has also won the domestic league with Dynamos. Sithole suffered a knee injury in 2010 and that affected him since he could not regain his previous form and he had to leave Dynamos in 2013 to join Mutare based Buffaloes Football Club whom he played for one season and was signed by the more ambitious Bulawayo based How Mine Football Club where he lasted for two seasons from 2014 to 2015 and in 2016 joined Mutare City for the 2016 football season and after that he had to hang his boots.
